Does anyone know where longstaff is? I know Willock has a hamstring picked up last season but not seen anything about longstaff.

Can’t watch the video so apologies if Howe mentions him in it.

Eddie stated in his presser that he’s not looking at buying a striker and he’ll use AG as cover…which obviously is code for we’re trying to buy Zaniolo!

You heard it here last! 😉

Dazzler – Liverpool are a massive club with a huge global profile though. A suitable club to connect with Mbappe. I’d say that’s all BS and media talk though, it’s going to take a pretty toxic club to have Mbappe this season knowing that his heart is elsewhere. We’ve been linked to him too, my brother was talking about a BS article that said we’re one of only 3 clubs who can afford him.

The thing about Liverpool as a city is that there’s a lot more to do nearby compared to Newcastle. You’ve got the likes of York and Leeds about 2 hours ago but other than that there are no big cities nearby. Durham is stunning (as is Newcastle of course) but Newcastle doesn’t have the same cultural reputation as the NW (home of The Beatles, Oasis etc).

Imagine you work for a marketing company and you’ve been tasked with creating campaigns to attract people to live and work in Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and London. Imagine what you’d put in each campaign and what kind of people you’d be targeting.

Living in Newcastle just isn’t for everyone. I just don’t see a problem with that. It’s no different than some on here saying they’d never live in London.

I swear there are also some trashy journos and ex players who slag off Newcastle or Newcastle United just to get a rise out of people and generate some reactions on social media…

I just don’t give some of them any credibility so I totally ignore them.

Had an interesting chat with my brother recently though…he reckons that Pennant and Bellamy are 2 ex players he’s seen who are very accepting that they didn’t behave well when they were playing and that they wasted a lot of their talent and money. Not seen either of them speak recently myself though.

On Livramento, I was watching sky sports yesterday, and they were saying that he will be fighting for the right back spot with Trippier and that we haven’t paid 32 + million for someone to sit on the bench. They were also saying that they didn’t think Trippier would be playing at left back.

think you havent done much reading into the history of newcastle and northumberland as well as the rest of the north east of england

check out the industrial revolution, steam trains, first house with electricity, shipbuilding, steel works, the first tartan kilt ( northumbrian ) our beaches, our castles, our own culture ect ect

you say oasis who are absolute shit they live on one song, the beatles well they didnt last that long anyways but it was not just the beatles that changed the music industry there were many many others who done it to like the animals ect ect

newcastle doesnt offer what other cities ie liverpool can yeah right

TCPN – what is it with some people who simply refuse to see things from someone else’s perspective?? Nobody is saying that there’s no history or culture in Newcastle or the NE (personally I love the coastal castles & the Roman stuff) but when you look at the kind of things that typically appeal to an average 23 year old from another country, the NE just simply doesn’t have as much of those things as the NW or London. Some of you lot slag off the NW and London so much, why the hell would you want to be like them??

Some of you people live on a different planet. I just accept what is the reality here. Ask Howe, KK, or any other ex Toon manager and I’m sure they do a bit of a pitch of Newcastle as well as the club. If a player wants to live in London though, we probably won’t sign them.

Charlie, medical first (he has had ACL reconstruction) then shirt, then at St James’. That will make me believe we have signed him. Until then, as the Stingray introduction once said, “Anything can happen in the next 1/2 hour”.

    TDS enjoys poking at northerners.

Its a shame as he professes to follow the toon, however he aint quite attuned to the area. Suppose he is allowed some slack but needs to understand that northerners are very proud people and shall bring wrath on those that criticise the area.
