Video Highlights Of Newcastle’s Satisfying 2-0 Win Against Fiorentina

Newcastle played well this afternoon and beat a very decent Fiorentina side 2-0 in the Sela Cup and we have the video highlights of what turned out to be a good performance from the lads.

It was good to get a clean sheet with Martin Dubravka in goal for the whole game.

Here is the team Newcastle started today:

Newcastle United: Martin Dúbravka; Kieran Trippier, Alex Murphy, Sven Botman, Matt Targett; Lewis Miley, Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson; Miguel Almirón, Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon.

Substitutes: Mark Gillespie, Jude Smith, Remi Savage, Charlie McArthur, Jordan Hackett, Nathan Carlyon, Jamie Miley, Lucas De Bolle, James Huntley, Jay Turner-Cooke, Ben Parkinson, Amadou Diallo, Michael Ndiweni.

Newcastle had some chances in the first half and finally went ahead with a goal in the 38th minute.

That man Miguel Almiron scored again, after some great work from Alexander Isak, who looks like he will start up front against Aston Villa next weekend, at the expense of Callum Wilson.

On another day we could have had more goals but we finally went further ahead late in the game, after 82 minutes, when Isak headed home strongly to give Newcastle a very good 2-0 win.

One good thing about today’s game is that both Lewis Miley and Elliot Anderson had good games in central midfiled, and that’s a massive bonus for Eddie Howe.

The central three – with Italaian Internationa Sandro Tonali, played very well in the engine room.

And I would be surprised if Newcastle bring in another central midiflder this summer, we hardly need one.

We do need a pacey right footed center-back, however.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting today Newcastle are now interested in signing center back Joachim Anderson from Crystal POalace, after we sign Tino Lavramento, who is now in Newcastle – hopefully signing along the bottom line soon.

Lavramento was in the Director’s box today watchuing the game.

Cetsral Palace’s center-back Anderson very rarely gives the ball away and the reliable 27-year-old Danish International, who stands 6ft 4ins tall, can play either left or right central defense.

A game against Villareal tomorrow is next on the agenda, so it’s all go this weekend for Eddie Howe’s PL squad.

The Premier League season finally kicks off next weekend and we play at home to a strong looking Aston Villa side: it will be a tough opener for us.

Here are the highlights of today’s game.

How far we’ve come that we now have extremely difficult decisions to make when it comes to a starting 11.

Flurzinho oh no, I got the play list wrong. Stick it on my booking list along with Old Thorns golf club order of holes. There is only one ar”” hole here, clue, look in the mirror and take a deep breath then say to yourself, and use this as a mantra, “GET A LIFE”

I would apologise if this post offends, but, it was meant to. Butt out of other people’s conversations. OH, damn, there I go again, Butt and Ar”” hole. Why does that always come up when you post? Just asking for a Frenchie.

Hibbit…the chances of Lascelles starting in front of Schar or BDB are quite remote…he’s the captain of the club and he’s respected massively by all at the club…we dont need to worry about Lascelles starting every week and what that might bring

I enjoyed that game today, I thought the criticism of our club captain a bit over the top. 4-0 win and our defence is criticised. Still, 13 points in 2 games.

Just looked at Sky Sports website and there is no mention of our match.

They do however list the ManU friendly.

I have noticed before that they very often feature possible or completed transfers for the (former) top 6 teams but rarely mention us.

Have Sky Sports got something against us?

Sunderland 2-0 down and now have a player sent off at home against newly promoted Ipswich. I predicted they would struggle this season.

If you want to make comments, know your facts!

Do you know what the album is about?

Or do you just see a film you saw 30 years ago?

Just to make things clearer on one of my earlier messages, I made an error with the way I wrote that our team are not top four level. What I meant to say was the certain players I mentioned are not top four level. If we can get some luck with injuries, I would not be surprised by top four at all. We have an amazing squad now in many positions, and we are probably only a year away (or 4 or 5 transfers) from having a team expected to finish top four every year. I also appreciate that team morale and togetherness plays a part in all this.
