Eddie Howe’s Press Conference And Heartfelt Message To The People Of Newcastle After A Successful Preseason

Eddie Howe held his press conference after the excellent 4-0 win over Villareal this afternoon at home, and that’s 3 wins in a row in our last 3 games of the preseason, during which we didn’t lose a game.

In 7 preseason games, we won four and drew three.

We also won both Sela Cup games yesterday (against Fiorentina) and today to win the inaugural Sela Cup.

Here’s the video of Howe’s press conference in which he says the deal for Tino Lavramento is still not done.

Howe also says he is determined to win something for the people of Newcastle – that’s at around 8 minutes 40 seconds of the video.

A good press conference from the Newcastle coach, who seems to improve so many of our players due to his excellent coaching and motivational skills.

Comments are always welcome.

    Eddie gets it!

“I want the same things (as the fans). But I think in my experience here when we’ve played home and away the big thing the supporters have wanted is a team that tries, a team that will run, a team that will work and show that we’re there to win – or to try and win, you can’t always guarantee that.”

Just cos Eddie says that Schar is fit and match ready doesn’t mean he’ll play him.

    I’ll stick with my selection!

I would try sending a nice complaint to the club, stressing that this is all new to everyone and the process is a bit confusing, and no one at the club replied to your email.
Don’t demand a refund, but just mention it would be good if you could be refunded.

People often respond better if you are pleasant in how you complain, and you’ve got nothing to lose.

Everton`s new stadium taking shape right on the banks of the Mersey, with a 53,000 capacity when finalised next season, it should be a more pleasurable experience to visit for our away fans than that ramshackled Goodison Park.

Looking forward to seeing who my opponent is in the head to head FPL division 1. Good luck to whomever I play.

Just did a few last minute changes so I’m expecting a minus 12 next week when all of my errors have been revealed.

It’s finally arrived. The Season. It’s been a looooong summer. 😀

ilovetoon with another classic – How do Liverpool have a better squad than us? They don’t even have a centre midfielder on their books with any defensive capabilities. They are desperately scrambling and paying over the odds to buy one – be it a teenager from a relegated club or the kid from Brighton. They are going to concede more goals than they ever have in previous seasons, and even if they get one of the above they have zero cover and won’t have the cash to buy any cover they need.

My prediction is that Klopp could be the first manager of a big club to get the bullet this season – Liverpool could well do a Chelsea. Chelsea have more players – not entirely convinced the owners choices are any better than those on our books, mind you. Poch still has a massive job on his hands getting a tune out of them.

Spurs are fk’d without Kane – no way they replace him like for like, and that means they score less this season than last, which sees them tumble down further IMO.

I think the stars are aligned for another season like last because some of the bigger teams are a complete shambles.

This is the side I would like to see tomorrow:-

    ———–Pope———–
    Trips-Schär-Sven-Targ
    ———–Bruno———-
    Lobby————–Anders
    Isak—–Wilson—–Joel

    Doubt I will though.

I see someone has joined Div1 to make it up to twenty teams, but it’s not who I expected it to be (haven’t even heard of them before!)

Did you okay this? If not, I can boot them out. Let me know.

Don’t think they should be in Div1 as far as I know! 🙂

I assumed Roshan was supposed to take that final spot.

    Darren Eales tells @SkySportsNews
there’s still potential for more transfer business:

“We can be creative, and will always be opportunistic — if the right deal comes up at the right price we will always be open for business. I understand that’s what fans want to know.”

Might be worth checking your H2H leagues to make sure nobody else has tried sneaking in there. If so, you can kick them out and lock the league to prevent anyone else from joining. Your Admin functions will allow you to do all of that.

    Scythe,
Based on Wor B posts I think you are correct and he should not be there. Wor B was giving Roshan until the deadline and if he didn’t join then as I understood it FPL would automatically add a player which is based on the average FPL score each week.

I am hoping to play that average player this GW when I cant see what my opponent is up to.

    🙂

    Miggy schmiggy!

Get him chomping at the bit, kicking the stable door and Hoy him on at the hour mark to round out the win with a hatty.

I toyed with other options too but I went with what I would like to see rather than second guess Eduardo.

Cal edges it for his opening day scoring record. Though he seems just as effective off the bench.

I also realise that no new signings are present but hey, you have to wait for your chance in this team.

Dropping Burny does seem harsh but I think Target deserves a chance to start a run of games. Where better against the team that rejected you for a name more in keeping with a day at the beach?

I’m going to go ahead and block the chancer and lock the league off to stop anyone else pulling a fast one. 😀

I’ve ejected the naughty boy and locked it off now. If Roshan posts in the next two hours I’ll unlock it so he can enter but to be fair, Wor B has been calling out to him to enter on a daily basis for weeks now.

FPL new players – the deadline to make your Game Week 1 changes is one hour before kick-off. After that you’re locked out until the first game starts and then any changes after that are applied to Game Week 2.

Mathias Franca is unable to play for Crystal Palace for some time as they’ve discovered a stress fracture that they have to be careful with. He’s not training atm.

Will Hughes is also out for some time due to a bad pre season injury.
