Here are the video highlights from NBC Sports of our 5-1 beating of Aston Villa this afternoon in our first league game of the season.
An (another) incredible performance from Eddie Howe’s side and we could be even better than last season, but of course, we have a lot more games to play this season with the Champions League – and we mustn’t get carried away.

But the result and performance in our first game of the season could hardly have been better.
We wonder what Sandro Tonali will be thinking tonight – he put in a world-class performance today, scored after 6 minutes, and it just how good our recruitment team is – led by Sporting Director Dan Ashworth.
Newcastle are in a good place right now – amnd it’s likelyto get better too – hope so.

Toonali was immense. Isak is class. Gordon, Barnes, Wilson all bright. Pope sharp when needed. Can keep going. Think the only negative was a an off the pace Bruno but he picked up his intensity second half.
Can’t wait for next saturday.

I agree Taco today was a real sobering thought and a reality check for Villa, but despite that i still think they will have a fairly good season, the way our lads played today i think they would have beaten Man City at Saint James Park mate.

The obvious answer would be bench Miggy which would be incredibly unfair on the lad if the aim is to play both. But one below average game does not a shite player make. However, both Barnes and Gordon were stellar today.
