Newcastle United 5 Aston Villa 1 – NBC Video Highlights – Plus Howe’s NBC Post-Match Interview

Here are the video highlights from NBC Sports of our 5-1 beating of Aston Villa this afternoon in our first league game of the season.

An (another) incredible performance from Eddie Howe’s side and we could be even better than last season, but of course, we have a lot more games to play this season with the Champions League – and we mustn’t get carried away.

Well, not too much, anyway.

🙂

But the result and performance in our first game of the season could hardly have been better.

We wonder what Sandro Tonali will be thinking tonight – he put in a world-class performance today, scored after 6 minutes, and it just how good our recruitment team is – led by Sporting Director Dan Ashworth.

Newcastle are in a good place right now – amnd it’s likelyto get better too – hope so.

Here are the highlights (you can put it on full screen by clicking at the bottom right corner after you hit the link) that will have the City Center of Newcastle buzzing all next week.

🙂

Here is Eddie Howe’s interview with NBC Sports after the game.

I couldn’t help but notice the barrage of insults hurled at ilovetoon8788 as I caught up yesterday.

Personally, I thought it was a little excessive and feel the need to ask that posters consider his feelings before responding to him.

It doesn’t make him deserving of being treated with such venom just because his ideas don’t match those of the majority.

Sorry, I pressed ‘send’ in error.

It isn’t necessarily his fault that he’s an intellectually challenged, inbred lowlife, slack-jawed seagull fancier who has nothing better to do with his life than infiltrate a toon blog with his inane views and try to wind up fans of a vastly superior club than the one he actually supports!

I could never understand why Geordies would buy the Sunday Post.

It was the only way us poor Jocks could learn to read

Great paper for wrapping fish and chips – eat and read

Loads of pages – great for getting a cola fire started

Any one notice the Villa goal. BDB was being wrestled by a Villian forward. That created the space. VAR should have brought it to the ref’s attention as he did not see it. Could have been 8-9

So, did the Sunday Post have an office in Newcastle? My memory may be telling me fibs but I seem to remember it would report on NUFC’s games and other news of the Tyneside area.

As far as the City’s nocturnal sights, the Central Station taxi queue was always entertaining, colourful to say the least. Not for me though, we used to go into the Railway Canteen (next to the station) for a railwayman’s breakfast and there was a need to leave a deposit on the cutlery. The bona fide railway staff didn’t need to though.

You shouldn’t have mentioned the Sunday Post being a good teaching resource. Expect a government announcement soon!

The quality of Tonali shows the beauty of buying abroad. Premiership experience is overrated if you find the gems.

    @Munster

I think it’s good to get a mixture buying too many players at the same time from abroad hardly ever works either

Or buying too many older experienced guys or too many young players all these extremes have messed clubs up at one time or another

We have the framework to take a guy like Tonali now and put him straight in while watching him thrive also helps signing him early enough in the window to get settled

But then also having someone like Barnes who will just be plug and play delivering goals and assists from day one with a proven track record in the division but with room to grow also amazing!!

Would love it if we could get 1 or 2 more though if being greedy !!

TCPN – didn’t Eddie say something similar 12 Months or so ago?

I can’t remember his exact phrase, but it had something to do with us hunting down the opposition. 😀
