Newcastle United Take Villa Apart With Magnificent Display In 5-1 Win – Tonali’s First Goal – Video

In front of a sold-out St. James’ Park this afternoon, Newcastle put in a great performance, particularly in the second half when we seemed just too fit and determined for this talented Aston Villa side.

Our goals came from Tonali (6 minutes), an Isak brace (16 minutes, 58 minutes), Wilson (77 minutes), and Barnes (90+1 minutes) on his Newcastle competitive debut.

Diaby (11 minutes) scored for Villa to equalize early in the game.

New signing Sandro Tonali looked world-class and he took just 6 minutes to get his first goal for the Tyneside club, with an opportunist effort from aN excellent cross from Anthony Gordon.

This Italian International is going to be world-class for us and we now seem so strong in central midfield – the engine room for Newcastle.

Here is Sandro’s first goal for the club this l;ad could quickly become a Newcastle legend along with some players we have in the squad.

And minutes later Diaby equalizes on his competitive debut for Villa.

Eddie Howe will have to be pleased with this result and display, but the head coach will keep his feet on the ground – as usual.

Our next game is at Manchester City next Saturday afternoon (3:00pm KO), the hardest game in the PL over the last several years.

    Thanks guys,

I will prepare some post match thoughts from Villa, but I tend to find it to be more amusing to let them stew on result for a little while yet.

    🙂

How many people here realise were getting a result against City next weekend.

I have a feeling it might even be a win.

My only quibble – If we could just move the ball quicker out of defence to attack we are going to destroy teams

I think Villa fans are kidding themselves if they think Mings’s injury was the reason for their defeat, his substitute if anything was a better player.

Back to the drawing board Unai!

Ming’s injury looked bad. Fortunately for him one of the top specialist consultants is on call at the RVI this weekend. He’s in good hands.

Wow. What a team Eddie has put together.
So pleased Anthony Gordon had a blinder.
    Tonali is special.
So good to be a Toon fan at the moment after our previous owner.
    Howay the Lads.

I had to give my MOM vote to Isak, his second goal was a thing of beauty.

To give the World Cup winning (cheating fcuker anaarl) keeper the eye, send him into a hockey save, then chip him all in the blink of an eye…Howay lads?

Toonali a very close second mind….

Would that be a relative of yours, per chance?

    Cy

I’m pretty sure Barnes’ does release the arrow in his celebration. He wants to be careful of his technique though so he doesn’t get a raker bruise on is forearm.

    I can’t resist…an amuse bouche….

“Big steaming pile of sh*t. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for that cowardly performance”

“Media w*nkfest will all be about Newcastle, but if Watkins and Cash put those easy chances away then it’s a different result even if we were off it today. Season doesn’t end after one game , but Bailey and Cash need replacing and Pau doesn’t look like he has the pace to play this high line unless maybe it’s a back 3. Martinez and Diaby the only bright sparks , he looks like he will score double figures . Hopefully we still have a trick up our sleeve for the rest of the window. Let’s hope Mings isn’t out for too long , defence looks lost without him”

“Well played Newcastle, they were ready, we weren’t. **** the excuses. Not good enough. We will still do well this year, but this has turned into a pathetic performance. **** off!”

“Harvey Barnes isn’t good enough for Villa I heard.”

“Why do we have to do this in the first game of every season. That’s 3 years in a row now. Diabolical. Also, this is exactly why i wasnt keen on all this talk of “top 4, top 6″ etc, we had that under Gerrard and look how that turned out, i would rather we did our talking on the pitch, we do too much of it off the pitch i reckon.”

“We have a lot to address. That was embarrassing.”

“Disappointing to see that Luton have a goal difference advantage in the relegation battle.”

“We gave it our best and very unlucky. Can’t compete with newcastle guys even though we beat them last season”

“Haven’t been this depressed and worried about Villa for a long time. Next two games very winnable but mentally it’s a long way back from 5-1. **** me.”

“As bad as it gets really. They smacked us about from start to finish, they’re a very good side.

Going forward we’ll be fine but a Villa defence without Mings is a nightmare. We’ve got a problem if we can’t sort that out.”

“At least we’ll be first on match of the day”

“Absolute f***ing shit show. I’m proper angry at that. Folk will say Newcastle are a great side and that’s true enough, but if we want to get to where we want to be they are direct competitors. I don’t expect us to beat them, but we need to go toe to toe with them, and that was an utter thrashing. Players looked half arsed, well they can all f*** off. Get f***ed Villa.”

I only got up to page 3 of 11 too!
