This video will be well worth watching and it is the behind-the-scenes video (video match cam) taken by nufcTV for our first Premier League game of the season – at home to a good-looking Aston Villa.
Both sides did very well last season with Newcastle finishing in 4th place on 71 points and Villa finishing in 7th place on 61 points.
But it turned out to be a no-contest with Newcastle blowing away the Villains in the second half, after leading 2-1 at the break.
Newcastle went into a higher gear after half time and we looked absolutely awesome and added three unanswered goals for the 5-1 win.
Did I say we were awesome?

Comment #84Catchy, Spud Webb dunking would get me off my seat but 7′ showboaters leave me cold. 2 points for a lay up (rarely missed) 2 points for a dunk which often miss spectacularly, especially the tomahawk jam. Circus shots should be left in the circus. What the lasses were doing qualifies as a dunk. They do it in games too. Apologies if that doesn’t fit the narrative. 🙂

Comment #86Coming Home – I thought Diaby looked decent but not amazing. Tidy finish mind you and had another decent chance but nothing to make me gutted we didn’t sign him. Meanwhile Tonali looked absolute class, Barnes and Gordon were both amazing on the left, and Isak could end up being our 2nd best PL striker behind Shearer. Was watching it with my family and absolutely buzzing from it. Top of the league!

Agree with your comments on women’s sport. The footy at a high level is a decent watch with loads of skill. That Linda Caceido for Colombia was exceptional the way she carried the ball. They string moves together and score goals. Yes they can’t run as fast but it means there’s more space on the pitch. A bit like how rugby used to be in the 70’s. I probably wouldn’t buy a season ticket but there’s plenty who do. If we were on the pitch the ball would be bouncing off our shins. These women can play.
