The hardest fixture in the Premier League is a trip to meet Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
And after Manchester City’s triple last season, they won the Premier League – they have won five of the last six PLs, the FA Cup, and the Champions League – they are undoubtedly right now the best team in the world.
So it will be a tough trip for our lads tomorrow when we will kick off the game at 8:00pm.
Here are some facts from the BBC on our record at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City have lost just one of their last 31 Premier League games against Newcastle (W25 D5), going down 2-1 at St. James’ Park in January 2019.
Newcastle have never won in 18 Premier League games at the Etihad Stadium (D2 L16), with their last away league win against Man City at Maine Road in September 2000.
It’s the most any team has played at a specific venue without ever winning in Premier League history.
So what better way to motivate the boys than for Eddie Howe to point this stat out.

Comment #43My only worry is whenever Newcastle have a big win they flatter to deceive next game. When we beat villa 6-1 I think we lost 2-0 next game to Blackpool?
Expectations are high after villa win but I expect a man city win. However there is HOPE and a CHANCE we can get something. Not like Bruce Pardew even rafa days when we were guaranteed to lose at etihad

Comment #46Asprilla one of my fav ever players. We lost cos Keegan changed shape of team to accommodate asprilla not cos of his performance. Keegan biggest mistake. Should have benched and rotated asprilla and Beardsley and kept same team shape instead of fitting everyone together

Comment #51Most teams that have an amazing win go on to struggle. I think I said this after Villa whopped us and we improved and they deteriorated after that. Although I said that last time to try to dispell the doom and gloom. Hopefully it won’t happen this weekend.

The defense and keeper picks itself. Midfield, we’re spoiled for choice but I think Eddie will start with Longstaff which will allow Bruno and Tonali to push forward. The attack, Miggy was rested for a reason but ran his socks off in his cameo v Brentford. Isak to lead the attack possibly with Gordon and he interchanging. What do I know?
