18-Year-Old Lewis Hall Signs On Loan With Obligation To Buy – I Am Honored To Wear The Shirt – His First Interview

Lewis Hall has been signed on a season-long loan with Newcastle and we have an obligation to buy the player for £28M, plus £7M add-ons next summer, depending on how well Hall and Newcastle do in subsequent seasons.

Lewis seems like a lovely, ambitious lad with his feet firmly on the ground.

This boy can become another great player at Newcastle over the next decade or so – and it’s another great signing by our recruitment team.

This is what the 18-year-old said on signing for the club he has supported, with his father having been born and bred in Newcastle:

“I’m very proud. Me and my family are Newcastle fans, and for me and my brother growing up, it was drilled into us that we were Newcastle. It’s a big club and I can’t wait to get started.”

“I got a lot of experience last year in some big fixtures and I was really proud of the way I progressed as a player and a person.”

“To now be here at Newcastle, the club that I’ve supported since I was a kid, I’m honored and very proud to wear this shirt.”

“It’s very exciting. When you look back on last season and the way the team performed – not just the results, but the performances the team were putting in – it was amazing.”

“There’s so many talented players and we’ve got the Champions League now as well so there’s many different competitions that I know the team will be wanting to do well in, and hopefully get a trophy or two as well.”

This is what Newcastle United head coach, Eddie Howe, said about his new player:

“I’m delighted to welcome Lewis to Newcastle United.”

“He is a player we have tracked closely, as have a number of clubs, so it’s very pleasing to secure him and to add a player of his quality, versatility and high potential to our squad.”

“I’d like to thank everyone involved for their tireless work to bring in the players we have.”

“A lot of time, effort, and resource goes into a transfer window, but we have a real togetherness at all levels here and I appreciate that teamwork and support.”

This may be our last signing of this summer, but I have a feeling we could bring in one more first-team player before the transfer window slams shut.

Hope so!

CBob – my favourite one was getting blunt with a Swedish procurement guy and suggesting we just cut out all of the BS (I used the proper word) and cut to the chase because I thought we both wanted to do a deal. Short pause, some laughter, and we got on like a house on fire after that.

Sometimes you need to be subtle and sometimes you just need to be blunt.

Good afternoon all,, great to see young Hall in the Toon shirt, eventually, great signing , he will give us a much needed attacking option on the left on the overlap, something we have been missing.
Unlike a few on here i think there is one more incoming to be done, still 8/9 days left of the window and Ashworth and co will be beavering away to get at least one deal done.
Does anyone think they will be sitting there twidling their thumbs or doing crosswords, nah, i don`t either.
I wouldn`t be surprised if it`s done on the final day, could even be a shock of a signing, i wouldn`t put it past our owners.

I’ve just seen that. It’s mad to even consider pointing fingers at players. For what? We’ve played 2 games, smashed an excellent Villa side 5-1 and lost 1-0 away to the current best team in the world. What is there to point fingers at?

It’s madness. Just qualified for Champions League, unbeaten in pre season, win 5-1, lose 1-0 to the treble winners at their place and some fans are asking questions of the team and individual players.

    Behave.

    Mund,

360 must have had a mental breakdown since I left Twitter – used to a be a solid news aggregator, and rarely (if ever) got involved in attention seeking shite like that. I don’t even think they posted their opinions on that account at one point.

Absolutely ridiculous, and rightfully called out by Bruno. It’s not even like Bruno had his worst game for us at the weekend – he had his worst game the first game he played after that howler of a pen in the league cup, where it was clearly still bothering him. That was months ago and he’s ranged from good to great ever since.

Saturday was just a better team, playing better than us on the night. It happens.

Mad how fast some of our fans are to scapegoat. It was Longstaff/Burn a year ago, I am shocked that it’s Bruno now.

Anyone else think Klopp will be studying Saturdays game and planning to flood midfield by bringing up his full backs?

    Hope he does.

Simple solution, (a) get the ball.
    (b) Lob it over the midfield areas with Gordon/Miggy/Barnes to run into space left and we’ll stuff them.

    Job done. 😉

If anything breaks the bond between the Team and the Fans, it will be the idiots on Social Media who feel obligated to spout their crap and ill informed opinions and “share” it online.

Just bloody keep it to yourself, or share it over a pint with your mates, don’t bloody post it for the World to see. Stuff like this can affect players & we rely heavily on the “we are United” vibe, which could so easily be ruined.

I’ve done it on here on occasions, mentioned someone’s had an off game, but this is a members only blog, not Twitter/Facebook/WhatsApp etc. for global consumption. I have never and will never air any negative feelings towards the Team on that sort of platform.

Mind you I had a ball slagging off Ashley/PL/Barclays/Qatar etc. during the takeover saga. 😆

Welcome to Lewis Hall. I don’t watch other teams much but the couple of times I saw Chelsea towards the end of last season he was the player that stood out for me over their ‘star’ players. Looks like he has great potential.

Re #18 above, we couldn’t do this on Saturday (1st half) because we hardly ever had the ball and when we did get it, Gordon and Miggy were playing full back. 🙂

I’m sure Eddy will realise what was going on and it won’t work against us again.

Imagine the scene, you’re a Brazilian International midfielder close to the peak of your career.

You’ve just had a bit of a bad day @ the office, the Team’s lost 1-0 to probably the best club team in World football and you get home, start having a look at your Social media feeds and you’ve got probably drunk, probably unfit, Geordie blokes telling you “you’re fat”, “you’re too slow”, “you’re lazy”, whatever they like!! – blaming you for the loss.

Gonna cheer you up no end isn’t it?

Gonna make you think, hang on is all the effort I put in worth it, when I get this after 1 x defeat?

I think as always, the mad vociferous minority, spouting their bile on Social Media could ultimately spoil a very good thing for the majority. Personally I’d be tempted to ban them from a few games (that’s assuming they’re game goers).

Hope the fans get behind Bruno and roar him to success in his next match. I know he didn’t play at his best versus Man City but hardly anyone gets a chance against them!

Bruno also seems to be playing a more withdrawn role so fans shouldn’t be expecting as many barnstorming runs into the box to slam in goals as they saw in his first half a season. Willock and Joelinton are both more attacking midfield options than Bruno, Anderson too. Looks like Bruno, Tonali, and Longstaff will start in a more defensive position but obviously all 3 have the quality to get forward and contribute to attack at times. Think of the greats like Keane, Viera, Kante, and Batty… 😉

Bruno saying exactly what I’ve been saying for the last few days, look what they’ve done in the last year and a half, it’s not like they’re a team that don’t give a foo# throwing strops or asking to be subbed, deliberately getting sent off. One poor performance and they really deserve some of the abuse dished out on here. Give your heads a wobble those responsible. A few selfish individuals could end up undermining everything they’ve worked for.

Not sure if Bruno`s head has been turned or not but he has dipped in his performances, not just against a class side like Man C either, he has been below par for months, maybe he has been found out?
Longstaff got pelters on here a while back for getting caught in possession, for being too slow etc, from what i have seen over the last few months watching Bruno, he has been the least effective of our CMs. and for me if he doesn`t pick up his game in the next 2 or 3 matches i would drop him to the bench and give young EA a chance .
Just bcos he has a fancy name or haircut doesn`t give him an automatic place in the side, he has to earn it, and for me he has been sadly lacking in his performances.
I hope he does return to the Bruno we first saw but 6 months playing well in a black n white shirt shouldn`t guarantee him a place just bcos he is fit, he has been average at best lately.
IF his head has been turned and it is affecting his performances, flog him to Madrid if he wants to be there that much, after all, it`s not as though he is already at a wonderful club that is Newcastle United.
Hopefully it`s just a dip in form and he will be up and running in full throttle soon, because we need every player to be up to speed, and he certainly isn`t that atm.

If I was the club I would actually instruct all players to come off social media especially after a game

Just got to hope these same players want to prove the doubters wrong on Sunday which I think they will

Tactics are simple overload TAA side with a winger and a midfielder for 2 vs 1 situations leaving Burn to sit back incase Salah is on the counter as he doesn’t track back

WLToon – it’s public knowledge that Bruno was playing through the pain barrier toward the end of last season in order to help us reach the CL. Job done. We’re 2 games into the new season and 1 was against Man City so I think it’s a little early to judge his form.

I think he’s also playing a slightly different role and has a new teammate alongside him too.

If he was having stinkers every game, I could understand the comments but he’s just not playing at the best we’ve seen him play for us. I think that’s a little unfair and it was why I thought it was premature to label him “world class” and raise expectations.

Maybe we should give everyone 10 games before judging?

NOTE: Before anyone else gets butt hurt, I’m not telling anyone what to post or what not to post, I’m just offering my opinion on the topic. Thought I’d get that in there in advance rather than have to address several comments…

    Jail,

An injury has been one of the excuses for months, if he is injured why is he in the team, it should of been sorted months ago, especially in the close season.
I don`t think he has an injury tbh.
Getting married shouldn`t affect your performances on the field surely, lack of sleep might mind with the new bairn arriving, but i doubt that also .
People can make as many excuses as they like about Bruno but i think this season will be a gauge of where he is at re PL ratings.

Right, thats me definitely gone now mate.
