I imagine next summer we will have a lot more sway financially.

Take a while to catch up commercially wise but not as long as some might think.

    Every brick laid

Good morning all, if there is one game i had to choose to win from all the PL games it would be the one we have coming up on Sunday, i detest Liverpool and their jumped up owners and manager so beating them will be so footin sweet.
I am praying we don`t fall flat on our faces against that lot like we did at home last season, keeping 11 men on the pitch would be a good start.
I`m going for 2-1 but hoping we hammer the footers into submission i want it that much.

I’ve submitted my line up for Rafa Eddie bingo.

I went unchanged. I’ve assumed Joelinton is fit and he was hooked for underperforming and being on a yellow.

Other than that, the line up smashed villa at home and lost arguably the hardest league fixture away. Therefore I believe Eddie will have faith in his lineup. He can always mix it up with his subs at half time or early second half of it isn’t working.

Apparently we have FC Lens and Union Berlin in our CL group, just waiting for the final team to be sorted after the qualifying rounds have finished, not sure if that is correct but was told last night.

CONFIRMED: Former Poland assistant manager Kamil Potrykus has joined Newcastle United’s recruitment team.

    #NUFC |

Potrykus: “I’m delighted to be here, I have great first impressions. Newcastle Upon Tyne is renowned for the warmth of its people, its industrial legacy, and vibrant culture. Yet, for someone like me, Newcastle’s essence is perhaps best encapsulated by its football club.”

Potrykus: “The sheer history, the awe-inspiring St. James’ Park with its 52,000 seats and the incredible supporters of the club. After nearly a decade working alongside Czes?aw Michniewicz, and achieving practically everything possible in Poland as an assistant manager and head…

The 38-year-old claimed that he is ‘delighted’ to be joining the club where he will be ‘actively supporting the recruitment department in the selection of players for the first-team level’

WLToon – that can’t be correct, the draw isn’t until 31st August. They might have meant our likely pot though, meaning those are 2 teams we won’t play against in the group stage.

Would accept a defeat at Brighton in return for beating the bindippers

Would be a real confidence booster if we turn Liverpool over. Slowly building a mentality of not having an inferiority complex to the previous big boys. To be fair that only really means Man City and Liverpool.

Check – Arsenal and Man Utd are still huge clubs though, despite not winning the PL in a while, and Chelsea are mega rich with loads of trophies in the last 20 years.

Shouldn’t have an inferiority complex towards anyone on the pitch though. We know Man City are insanely good but we still competed.

Liverpool, Klopp and their fans are an embarrassment every time they open their mouths ( or gobs as they call them ).
What comes out is usually diatribe and the noise that emanates grinds on the ears like mewing cats. They should come with a Government Health Warning.

My neighbour made a good point about tickets and ties in with Mund’s piece about the Polish guy. Since the TO it sounds like there’s been absolutely loads of extra staff taken on, not to mention youth players, if they’re all getting a couple each on top of what these “hotel” partners are getting, it’s not leaving many.

    Magicmac,

I am ok mate, taking it as easy as i can you know, not doing anything too strenuous.
I don`t have a ticket for Sunday but was thinking about going into town anyway and watching in a pub somewhere, trouble is it will be absolutely rammed wherever i go.
I just hope we do them big style mate. How`s things with you magicmac, are you planning a trip to the Toon soon ?

Good to hear your not doing anything to strenuous at the moment mate, although i know you like to keep yourself busy, so i can appreciate it`s probably not easy for you at times mate. On getting over to a few games this season, well i really want to come over WLtoon, but it`s become a lot more problematic with this new ticket system plus the ballots to obtain a ticket!! Also i have to factor in will i have enough time to book a flight and accommodation, i will just wait a while to the dust settles and perhaps everything becomes a bit clearer and transparent with the new ticket system mate HWTL.

I was happy with the sports technology bit, not so much with the betting as I thought we and the PL were trying to move away from that. In their spiel they leave the betting bit to a couple of lines at the bottom. Has there ever been a more crass phrase than ”bet responsibly.”?

Raj – staff tickets have been cut right back.

Gunna be a season of transition for match tickets. Wouldnt be surprised to see empty seats in the away end based on never knowing if yer mates are gunna get a one.

Most away days are about the craic not the 300 mile round trip by yerself

Clubs can still have links to betting companies but they can’t be on the front of shirts etc

Fun88 are still used just not as front of shirt sponsorship.

A needs must to help the club grow commercially

With Hall coming in, it will be interesting to see if he makes the bench Sunday, possibly at the expense of Targett.

Really hoping Anderson gets a start but not sure who drops out. Murphy I would assume will be back so Ritchie drops down from the bench.

Could argue that Hall, Longstaff, Anderson, Murphy and Wilson are all pushing for a start but don’t think Howe will make many changes, if any.

    WLToon,

What TDS says is correct. We don’t know who we will play in the CL as the qualifiers have not finished and the draw for the group stage is on 31st August.

However we do know that we will be in pot 4 when the draw takes place and Union Berlin and Lens are also in pot 4 so we can’t play either of them in the group phase.

    Thuram – Blanc – Desailly – Lizarazu.

28 games together with France, 21 wins, 7 draws, no defeat, 13 goals conceded…

    Arguably the best defense ever.

But feel free to disagree if you have another back four in mind for that title.
