Gloom – I think people question the integrity of refs anyway and this reason is far less worrying than a ref being accused of bias towards a particular club or (even worse) corruption or bribery.

Refs were accused of not wanting to be the first to book Gary Lineker for example and I’m sure a few refs have given a borderline decision a particular way in order to “even it up”.

It’s a bit attention seeking and self serving for him to admit this in public but it doesn’t surprise me that it has happened.

Fkin klopp, Jesus tds why do you do it and raise our blood pressure

I was on non alcoholic beer recently and there was a free glass with Erdinger….and Klopps signature on it.

I wudnt piss in that glass

He’s a helmet and deserves fk all respect and whilst I know you’re being provocative, I’m not sure why

What next, some kind words about Sir Alex and his achievements?

We don’t like dicks like him either, so there is no point talking about him in positive terms.

Klopp is a cnut. The End.

It’s absolutely sickening re – Mike Dean. He sat on VAR on Liverpool games when his 2 sons are LFC season ticket holders !!!
As bad as Webb with Manu, bent as.

Still seething with the Isak disallowed goal at Anfield and they got away with it against Wolves and a few other teams as well as they claimed the ground didn’t have all the right camera angles. YCMIU !!!!!

Mike Dean, in retrospect, ages after the game and upon reviewing it admitted to a mistake. What do you want? Silence?

Well, here it is for those who have never made a mistake and subsequently owned up to it.

Munster – I’m not being provocative, I’m just giving my opinion with the Liverpool game coming up. Also, yes I have massive respect for what Alex Ferguson achieved in football, he’ll go down as a managerial legend for sure. He was also very frustrating for his combative and win at all costs attitude for anyone who isn’t a Man Utd fan!

Any genuine football fan respects the achievements of top players and managers. I massively respect Christiano Ronaldo’s achievements as a player but I think he’s a tosser of the highest order in terms of a human being, both on and off the pitch.

Can you not see why you really pee people off so much.
Should we now tell police it’s ok to break the law because so and so is a mate.
F-ing unbelievable. Woke city general. Compassion and understanding yes, but not at that level where honesty is absolutely paramount. Anything less is just bent and we may as well all give up now. I’m not a man who likes to swear but you really make me sick to my stomach at times.

TDS; Dean’s comments back up what I have always said about institutional bias among referees.
He even said that refs would often be reluctant to make decisions against the big clubs because they could be potentially removed from the big games for up to 6 weeks.

There was a perfect system for getting all decisions correct!
A ref & his team plus VAR
Worked absolutely flawlessly in the euro’s & subsequent international tournaments!
For some reason the richest league in the world can’t manage to get it correct!
Womens World Cup just ended without a single controversial decision!
Premier league can’t manage a single week! 😀

I’m a genuine football fan and I cannot stand Ferguson. His win at all costs attitude go against the grain of sportsmanship. He did not play fair with his win at all costs attitude.
His bully boy attitude were deplorable and his sychophants in the media assisted him.

Rotonda – I don’t give a flying f**k if I piss some people off to be honest. This is a blog for opinions and I’m sick of people trying to censure me just because it doesn’t fit with their biased narrative. Too many tosspots (not talking about you) who either insult or tell people they shouldn’t be allowed to state their opinion on a topic on this blog. Then they claim “freedom of speech” when I ask them to stop engaging with me if they don’t want to see my posts. And yes, I’m insulting them for their actions against me not for their opinions about something that doesn’t directly affect me.

Your example is bonkers though. If one copper did something wrong and later quit the force, that doesn’t mean the whole police force is corrupt! It might mean that person should never have joined the police as it wasn’t for them though. Dean quit VAR after 2 seasons because it wasn’t for him. You’ve gone to a crazy extreme to try and prove your point…

Catching up from earlier here are my own views on Klopp:

When I used to live in Germany I liked him, he was towards the end of his playing career at Mainz and then became their manager and after a couple of years got them promoted to the top flight. He is a Stuttgart fan too which I like as they are my team.

By the time he was at Dortmund I had left Germany and so I did not see as much of him or Dortmund as I used to but of course we are all aware he achieved a lot at Dortmund.

When he came to Liverpool I continued to like him. However, the last 2-3 years has changed all that. He is now probably the PL manager I like least of all.

For me it is a combination of his touchline antics and his whiney attitude in recent times that makes me now dislike him. His seeming fascination with us since the takeover also irritates the hell out of me. It’s the two-facedness of it all really:

    – He complains about “ceilings” without shame despite what Liverpool have spent and their huge revenues (which it will take us years to get anywhere near) He came to the PL before there were ceilings (FFP) and built a team (and not from a bad starting point given quite a lot had been put in place by Rodgers) – If I could speak to him I would say – “Jurgen, we are the ones with the f’ing ceiling not you!” I think I can still get that right in German too and I would certainly add “sitzpinker” to the end of my little speech

    😉

    – He recently mentioned one change to the touchline rules cos he thinks it will impact us when it is quite clear that another rule introduced last season was designed with coaches like him in mind who constantly berate officials when things don’t go his way. He has lots of form for this, yet he makes it about us!

I noticed when pasting some Lpool fans comments that one fan wondered why when he went on an NUFC forum everyone seemed to dislike Klopp so much. I was tempted to tell him!!! – but I could not be bothered to setup an account and type it all out.

In conclusion, I always want us to beat Liverpool, it is a rare treat for a lad like me who grew up on the Wirral and is still in touch with a few Lpool fans. But now I will enjoy it even more cos I will enjoy Klopp moaning WHEN it happens – hopefully this Sunday and frequently after that.

    My predication 3-1!

Put it this way TDS you’re on your own in the way that you think and it goes against most fans views on here. Have your opinion but don’t be surprised to find that the vast majority don’t agree with you and that you get their backs up.

Strange way to behave but you are who you are

Novo – I can understand that has happened to an extent. If a ref got a decision wrong against a club with influential owners, manager, or other officials, then they’d know they’ll have to answer for it more than normal. I think that was probably much more common in the past than now though, most PL clubs have got some heavy hitters associated with them now so would have some clout in complaining about a ref’s performance.

They’re only human beings and all of this insight helps the authorities from trying to find ways to minimise any bias. In the vast majority of cases, I think any bias is very marginal and not conscious at all though.

Not sure why some people think that if something isn’t perfect then it’s terrible.

Alex Ferguson was a tw*t, no question but a great manager it’s not even debatable. If we’d snared him after Keegan walked (like he’s said we attempted to do, and Sir John Hall has backed) instead of Kenny, we’d absolutely love him now because of all of the reasons we can’t stand him for.

He’s still a whiskey guzzling gobshite though, and was talking out his sphincter when discussing the Villa game.

Taco – I agree that Klopp has become whiney in recent seasons and deviated from the charming and classy manager he was when he started. It seems that many top managers take this kind of siege mentality when things are going against them. I wonder how much of it is calculated and how much is pressure.

I predicted the same as you too, 3-1 win. And I also said Liverpool are the team I want to beat the most this season. 🙂

Dean’s decision had nothing to do with VAR IMO but about him making a decision. It begs the question of how many times has it happened before either as a var or as a match referee
