Eddie Howe’s Full Press Conference For Manchester City Test In The Carabao Cup

Here is Eddie Howe’s press conference this morning for the game tomorrow night against Premier League Champions Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

This will be a tough test for Newcastle, but with our recent good form, we must have a chance of going through tomorrow night.

The lads should be full of confidence after winning two successive league games and getting a 0-0 draw at AC Milan last Tuesday night in the Champions League- and three clean sheets in a row.

Top comedy blogging on here last night
Jail is Mort? What a load of shite
And once again Regan insists I’m Wor B
But none of those tenner’s ever get sent to me

He seems to think that he has special powers
And can tell after studying the blog for hours
Who is somebody’s alt and who is for real
Judging, it seems, on a few lines of spiel

He can go a bit crazy when on the drink
And loses the ability to clearly think
He’s had plenty of meltdowns on here before
And last night unfortunately we witnessed one more

He said once again that now he was gone
But I’m sure he’ll soon be back logging on
He’s just recently returned from the last time he quit
And I think it only lasted for a week and a bit

It’s apparent he doesn’t think much of me
And more worryingly still, not much of Wor B
Wor shouldn’t have to suffer for the sins of a poet
Cos we’re not one and the same and only Regan don’t know it!
    .
    .
    .

    * If Regan’s ‘same vocabulary’ reasoning is correct, does that first line mean I’m an alt of Tuffers?

    😉
    😀

Ah ha! So you are Tuff after all. As good breeding is often obvious, so are the signs of classical education – well, they’re obvious in the Bard’s musings.

    Magic,

From previous mate, aye me Mam always said Geordies are a very close second to Irish re passionate folk. She always said that her transition from living in Donegal to Newcastle was made so much easier as the folk are so similar. So, I can see and understand why you see the toon as ye second home mate. The toon is blessed to have you as an adopted Geordie that’s for sure as you’re salt of the earth 🙂

50/50 at present with 5 voted each for a win and a loss against City tomorrow.

I’m going for a 1-0 very close encounter win. We’ve got this in the bag.

Eddie gave nowt away in the presser, no surprise there.

I reckon he’ll put out a strong team and have gone for.

Eddie’s Carabao Cup Bingo vs Man City

    Karius

    Trippier Lascelles Botman Targett

    Longstaff Tonali Anderson

    Murphy Isak Gordon

With a load of second half changes regardless of the score and that is when the kids will be hoyed in.

Gutted for losing Barnes but these injuries present an opportunity for other guys in the squad

Means the likes of Anderson and Gordon could get a proper good run of 4 or 5 games together to develop a proper relationship which is promising as they looked almost telepathic at times on Sunday!

Afternoon all and thanks for that Ronway. 🙂 I decided to use a separate thread to avoid any confusion (for my benefit I might add!).

All are welcome and good luck. This one is going to be the toughest ever.

I don’t agree with the “always play your strongest eleven” group. That’s the fastest way to invite injuries and wreck a season on all fronts.

Look at the bigger picture. Last season we were happy with a good cup run and qualifying for the CL. This season it is better for the club to have a run in the CL but VITAL that we qualify for CL again. Other European competitions wouldn’t a disaster but it would slow down the rebuilding of Wor club.

Eddie won’t disrespect the Carabao Cup but neither will he take unnecessary risks. Same applies to Burnley, PSG is the big one. We need our strongest possible team for that one.

Off to watch Eddie’s presser before entering my best guess.

It`s very understandable you`re mum would have found the transition going from Donegal to Newcastle more or less seamless and a very easy integration mate!! However i don`t think it would have been the case had she moved to possible other parts of England where the people would possibly not been so warm and welcoming as in Newcastle, and that speaks volumes for the people of the North East mate. Cheers for the nice comments mate, it doesn`t change anything though as i`m still an old country culchie from the Emerald Isle 😀 😀

    @Magicmac

Yes, seen SA vs Ireland, what a ferocious battle, your pack is very impressive.

Still will be tough against the Blacks, but you can do it.

Then, probably Wales, can’t see you lose that…

And the final, don’t know, France, England ( they’re better now ) or SA again.

For France, well, with both our SH and FH injured, unfortunatly, will be difficult for us.

So Ireland is clearly the best bet for me, which is already an uncredible achievement.

The progress made by irish Rugby in the last 15 years are simply astonishing.

Weren’t you the one that told TFG or whatever he’s called to get a job rather than post on here?

So, you’re either posting in work time, off work or not working.

I think we know which it is so there’s no need to come back.

    Aren’t there some constraints on

Why players should be given time

“A final word from Newcastle United defender Dan Burn on Monday Night Club: “In any club you need competition for places, if the same players are playing every week it can get a bit complacent and you need people pushing you in training every week. We’ve added some good players.

“For the new lads coming in, I feel it takes a while to be able to play in this team with the amount of information you have to take in. Pressing, on the ball, different patterns we use – you’ve seen it with signings. Anthony Gordon came in, in January and didn’t hit the ground running as quickly as he would have liked but he’s been on fire at the start of this season where he’s getting used to the players around him.

“You see how every top team is swapping formations during games. We now have different patterns for our crossing areas – it makes it clear for everyone wherever the ball is you know where the ball is going. I think that’s the way it’s going and it does take a little while to get used to how the manager wants to play.””

I must agree the Ireland v South Africa was simply ferocious and the physicality and big hits was off the scale!! Ireland don`t half need that two week break after that brutal battle, and yet it was not a dirty match as no yellow or red cards, For Ireland to have any chance to win the world cup i think it

    To all posters on here.

We are all entitled to our views and posts whether they be right, wrong or somewhere in between but we should also try to show respect to each other as we all respect Dr Ed and his family. I think it’s reasonable to “challenge” someone else’s post but it should be done in a respectful way.

On the game against Man City tomorrow night, i see it as the perfect opportunity to give all the lads in the squad who are not playing on regular basis a game, we have a much stronger squad now and irrespective of what team Eddie selects on the night, we should still have enough quality to be competitive and give a good account of ourselves on the night.
