Newcastle Interested In Signing Young And Talented Brazilian Striker For Just £20M

Outlet uol is reporting that Newcastle United are interested in signing 20-year-old Marcos Leonardo, the Brazilian U20 striker who plays for Santos – Pele’s former club.

The report is that the Newcastle recruitment team, led by Sporting Director Dan Ashworth, have already made contact with Santos on a potential deal.

Newcastle would like to sign the young striker in the January transfer window.

It seems that Santos would be happy with a deal between €20 and €25M for their young players, which is between £17.4M and £21.8M.

The 5ft 9ins tall striker has already played 161 total games for Santos with 54 goals and 11 assists since 2020 when he made his debut for the famous Brazilian club.

The 20-year-old goalscorer was very close to heading to SerieA in the summer and was heavily linked with Rome clubs – Lazio and Roma: but no deal was made.

We’re pleased that Newcastle are out to scout youngsters like Leonardo, who are already good, but still far from their best.

This season alone he has scored 21 goals in 42 games for Santos with 4 assists- and for a 20-year-old, those are very good stats.

His contract has 3 years to run and for about £20M we could get this young lad to Newcastle if head coach Eddie Howe is in favor of the move.

With these potential incoming transfers, Eddie Howe is really the head man to make the decision.

If Howe sees several areas of Leonardo’s game he can improve then – on the surface – it would seem like a decent long-term deal for Newcastle.

These are the types of deals that could save us big bucks in the future.

What do you think?

Same old, same old it seems. Wasn’t there talk of a truce only a few days ago?

Anyway, as for Wednesday I still feel we need to rest players as much as is possible. It is the least important competition we are in and our team should reflect that, given that another injury to a key player would be a far more of a disaster than losing this match.

That is not to say I don’t want us to win. I absolutely do but not at any cost.

I am even more motivated for us to win this game as I recently changed jobs and today I discovered that 2 of my new team-mates support Man U!! – Typical Man U fans too, one of them is based in Reading and the other one is based somewhere in Wales near Bristol and neither of them sound even remotely Mancunian!! – Furthermore I have teams conference with them on Thursday afternoon!

I wanna grab a screen shot of the result or one of our goal scorers and make it my desktop background before I present in that meeting.

“Can everyone see my screen ok? – Great, then I will begin”

    ?
