Newcastle Want To Sign Yet Another Young Player Who Will Soon Become A Major Superstar

There’s some good news today,  that Newcastle are interested in signing Santos’ Brazilain U20 striker – 20-year-old Marcos Leonardo.

And it looks like another young emerging superstar is also in the sights of Newcastle and he’s 20-year-old midfield talent Florian Wirtz, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen and the German national team.

He currently has 12 full caps for Germany and has played for all the German youth sides.

His playing style is said to be as an attacking midfielder, although he can also play wide on the left as a winger.

He has a marked offensive mindset and is a very dynamic midfielder, and covers a lot of ground.

Wirtz has played 116 total games for Bayer Leverkusen with 28 goals and 38 assists and this lad seems destined to become a German great and maybe even a Newcastle great too, if we can persuade him to come to Newcastle United – a club on the up and up (and up).

The report originated with TeamTalk in an exclusive of theirs.

The report is that several top Premier League clubs are interested in the midfielder including Newcastle, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur – so those are essentially 5 of the top 7 clubs in England.

Manchester United and Liverpool don’t seem to be interested.

Chelsea are the club reported to be showing the most interest at the moment and those stats of Wirtz show he is destined for the top and very soon too.

Bayer Leverkusen are currently top of the Bundesliga with 25 points from 9 games played and 2 points above the also unbeaten German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

We’re sure Eddie Howe would just love to work with this talented 20-year-old so early in the youngster’s career.

But Wirtz will have a host of top clubs to choose from so we just have to hope that Newcastle can pull this deal off if they are really interested in acquiring the player.

The difficulty we have is other top clubs – because of their higher revenues – will be able to offer the player more wages than we can.

But it’s definitely worth going after Wirtz – a weak heart never won fair lady.

What do you think about this?

In Summer we should bid for Jamal Musiala but Ashworth and Eddie know best.

    This is the way.

Any out of contract strikers flying around we can sign now because its two long months before we can get anyone in and we could be out of the cup and out of contention for 4th place by then because our november and december schedule is proper brutal.

We also need older players, yes I know Brighton are doing OK now, but, we are fighting on four fronts, we need experience (Trippier), more than kids.

I think the reserves are the way forward, it’s not deliberately chucking it but how can we keep playing full strength teams in a quarter then a two legged semi while playing in that CL as well.

Personally would play our first 11 against Man Utd. Every single player who can play at the same intensity as Saturday first half starts and runs themselves daft.

We play our reserves when we need em.

Need to win a cup and Carabao is the easiest one to lift. We shall be top 4-6 by end of season whatever we put out on Wednesday. We need to keep Man Scum in the shit. Starting on Wednesday.

This season is about winning a pot. This competition is without Man City so is the easiest to win. Why waste putting them out. Could draw Liverpool and Arsenal at home next two rounda and then its ours.

All out for a cup i say. Champions league is beyond us with our injury crisis

I would play most of our back up players on Wednesday. Our priority must be the league. We have Arsenal at home. The first team have had two grueling games in the rain. Some of them have not had a break for weeks.
We need to keep the leading teams within reach until we start to get injured players back.
I would play Almiron , Gordon, Joelinton and Willock however. The latter two need games. Gordon can play as the main striker.
There was a data firm which has predicted We will finish third this year despite our current position. They were not inputting our back ups into the data, I’m sure.

I’d play a strong team on Wednesday. Man Utd are there to be beaten. With both Manchester clubs out we can win Carabao cup. Don’t we want revenge for the cup final? Wirtz will never come to Nufc, he’ll have better offers on the table and I’m sure he will end up idolising Pep Klopp Ancelotti and would only sign there.

After Szobo I’m not going to get my hopes up on any player until they’re stood on pitch at SJP holding a nufc shirt.

It’s 3 very big games, with a severely depleted squad. Still have a very decent starting 11, but already you can see that a few need a rest, even before the first one.

Livramento, Hall, Dubravka, Targett, Willock and Dummett all start in this one I think, with the league and CL given priority.

    I’d go with something like…..
    …………………Dubravka.
    Livra…Lascelles….Dummett…Targett.
    ……………………Bruno.
    ………….Willock……..Hall.
    …….Almiron…..Gordon…..Joel.

Get Bruno off for Lobby early doors second half, Krafth on for Miggy, with Livra pushed forward, Wilson on for Gordon, type plan. Get Joel off too, if you can, maybe for Ritchie.

We need to win a cup. Aint winning a league this year. And the team put out on Wednesday will not affect top 4/5

I suppose at this stage of the season, the key regulars, simply spend the time between games resting and recovering. How that is managed becomes paramount, you would think. Not just physical, but also mental rest and recovery. We aren’t an ordinary side, we are quite high octane, and that must be incredibly draining. We are fit though, and very well drilled, and that must help us in these times of high fixture congestion.

    Nicky,
I’d normally shrug off rotation but looking at them on Saturday and the lack of options on the bench then unfortunately we have to play a more weakened team than we did against Man City.

It’s gonna continue to pish down all day and night in Manchester. It’ll be our 3rd game in a week played in sodden conditions, slow / heavy pitches.
Drop em all and play all the fringe players and expensive ‘one for the future’ lads.
This game on Wednesday is nothing but a nuisance in the scheme of things. Field fresh players with a nothing to lose attitude. If we come through, bonus.
    Priority is CL..

I’d love to win a cup this season too, even if it’s only the league cup, but progressing out of the group in the Champions League means more money for us, which is great for our FFP.

Such a waste of time to put City out and then everyone wants to chuck the game against Man Utd who are there for the taking?

This could be our best chance of a trophy for years putting out the 2 Manchester teams what a buzz

Our full strength team could easily get beat off Arsenal as that’s what happened last season they have improved their team we don’t deal with fast passing teams too well

    …………………..Pope…
    Trippier….Schar….Botmàn…Burn.
    ………………….Bruno.
    …….Longstaff………..Joel..
    ..Miggy………..Wilson……….Gordon.

Rest and recovery, and then same 11 for Dortmund, God willing.

    LCBP,
I don’t think anyone wants to chuck it but would rather not risk any key injuries, we were running on empty against Wolves with nothing on the bench, that bench doesn’t improve by this Saturday.

I think it possibly would be more interesting trying to name the bench for Wednesday, there has got to be some of the youngsters on it.

I would guess Murphy, De Bolle, Diallo, Ndwini and Stephenson might be real possibilities.
