The Emotions Of A Player And A Fan Following A Newcastle Defeat

After the game yesterday there were words exchanged between vice-captain Kieran Trippier and a Newcastle fan.

After a Newcastle defeat – no matter where or when – you will always get fans mad and upset at the defeat.

That’s just the way we are – nobody is perfect in this world – we are not happy when we are beaten.

This is what head coach Eddie Howe said about the confrontation:

“Kieran is fine. Emotions run high, we all feel a bit emotional after that from our perspective but there are no problems. We thank all our away support and we value them greatly. That will have been tough for them to watch today.”

Here’s the confrontation – short but not sweet:

We should not draw too many conclusions from this confrontation.

We are very disappointed at the result and the display, but it’s not like the days of old when the players didn’t even seem to care.

Our lads did the best they could yesterday, but it just was nowhere near good enough on the day.

Let’s move on from this.

Next up for Newcastle is Chelsea on my 79th birthday – Saturday, November 25: Chelsea at home, 3pm GMT, 10am ET.

So surely we can win this game – that’s possible isn’t it?

🙂

    Rotonda,
You know the bloke at number 10, the one who you’d be guaranteed a chase from when you knocked at his door at half seven on a cold January night. That’s you that is 😀

All the sensationalist headlines claiming it was a shock defeat.
    No it wasn’t.
Our team was decimated and by playing long balls Bmouth made sure our midfield and front 3 were forever running back to our own goal. You could tell from the early minutes that this would be a tough game. Bmouth cut through time after time.
But Pope was superb and we did well to create about 3 very good chances.
If one of those had gone in we might have found another gear and given them a game.
    But it wasn’t to be.
The worry for me is how long term our injuries have been, which means no respite for those that do play. Which means more injuries. It’s a vicious circle.
In terms of strikers, we should always assume that one is injured, which means we need 3 as having 2 fit ones means we can rotate those 2.

    And I’ll say it again.
    I hate that green strip.
We’ll never do anything with that strip.
Worst decision the club have made since the takeover.

Billson, spot on re pace. Some happy clappies have to have certain players branded as world class or they won’t be happy. They also told us ffp wasn’t an issue. That’s la la land for you.

Ledge, we’ve discussed pace v acceleration already and I agreed with you, so no idea why you are trying to mark my card again

The net effect however is that pace or acceleration or turning speed is a small weakness in his game. That’s the point. Same with Bruno re recovery speed etc

I pointed this out before anyone here and some happies who cannot accept any negativive analysis, even tiny bits, got in a flap.

I was one of the ones who most wanted Botman. Myself and my kid watched loads of him the Christmas before we got him, presumably when the link started.

Just because I highlight a flaw doesn’t mean I dislike him, far from it . I love him! Tripps isn’t fast in pure pace terms either but his brain is mega quick.

On meed sadly we cud end up 7th with nothing . Maybe 7th gets Europe but it would certainly be a kick in the guts for the clubs finances

But just to clear the majority of the players, be it Dias, Saliba,Konate ,Disasi ,Gvardiol,Akanji are slower than Botman.
So he is in good company .

Perhaps we were in green against Sheffield, but I still hate that strip. Not because of the Saudis. I just hate that green. White strip with a touch of light green possibly ok, but no more than a touch.

In Sobozlai Liverpool have a top midfielder who will become a PL great. Economy of movement, glides over the pitch, can pick a pass and can shoot. Would have loved him instead of Tonali, before the ban, and even more so post ban.
But he wanted the scousers more than us, so never an option.
And I think Tonali will come good when he returns next season and do well for us, but I think Sobozlai will prove to be the better purchase.
Not a criticism, just an observation.

    Exactly brother!

You should never worry about anything that’s out of our control.

I especially find the ones funny who speak with expertise like they knew the right call or the picking the team 😆 I do find it hilarious these ones who come out after the event and have such knowledge of how it could of been done differently

    Mindless know nowts

I didn’t worry when we had Ashley and I won’t start now in an era that’s already gave us so much

He had a right to be.

The whole squad has given everything since Eddie took over and they deserve to be backed at times like these.

So when you are giving everything and you are getting dogs abuse it’s only fair to be able to stand up for yourself when it’s undeserved

Onmeed, szobs was a killer loss. To be quite frank, he looks a mile ahead of Tonali. But he loves Klopp so feck him. I also think Tonali should have made a statement and I can’t think that will happen now. Or seems like the moment has gone.

    Eh?

Someone thinks everything is about them

Seeing as he is one to change what was said to suit the narrative I’ll clarify.

I said it won’t be an issue as in we will still spend big every season and more each season as sponsorships grow and we will still get to the summit of English football. So to me does that sound like FFP is a problem? Does it restrict? Ofc it does but it won’t change the inevitable

Ledge I would have thought Akanji was quicker than Botman, certainly quicker on the turn, and probably quicker to get to top speed. Although Robo would rein him in once at full pelt. He was a brilliant buy for City and not too pricey either.

If a poster says we have a bad game, it seems to ruffle your feathers a bit.
