There’s some good news doing the rounds today on the injury front and it’s from the Mail’s Craig Hope on his Twitter (X) account
Here’s the Tweet from Craig that’s caused some good news to finally circulate on Newcastle’s injury plight before we play Chelsea at home next Saturday against Chelsea 3:00pm KO.
?? Some slightly more positive news on the NUFC injury front
?? Sven Botman has progressed well this week. He should avoid surgery IF the knee doesn’t swell again
??????? Sean Longstaff’s ankle is settling quickly but remains a doubt for Chelsea
?? Miguel Almiron & Alexander Isak will be fit
— Craig Hope (@CraigHope_DM) November 18, 2023
Two players – Alexander Isak, and Miggy Almiron will be fit for the home game against Chelsea and we have to think Sean Longstaff has a good chance of being fit.
And of course, Bruno Guimaraes is available after serving his one-match ban against Bournemouth for picking up 5 yellow cards.
Longstaff had a swollen ankle and Miggy Almiron was taken off at Bournemouth after suffering a grade 1 hamstring injury, but at least the experienced 53 times-capped Paraguayan International will be fit for Saturday.
It will also be good to have the talented and impressive Alexander Isak back in the front three.
We are also hoping that Fabian Schar is fit to play on Saturday, after missing Switzerland’s 1-1 with Kosovo, and Longtsaff hopefully has a decent chance to be in the starting lineup on Saturday.
The other very good news is that Sven Botman’s knee injury is now responding to treatment – finally!
If that continues and there is no swelling, it will mean he will not need an operation and therefore could be back much sooner than if surgery is needed.
The Premier League injury site has Sven’s return date down as 2nd December, that’s two weeks on Saturday.
We haven’t had much good news on the injury front recently, but this is some good news and hopefully, more of our injured players will soon be returning.
Comments welcome.

Comment #43Pug – can you explain to the rest of us why GCHQ or whoever would waste their time dealing with an online troll who has done nothing more offensive than waste the time of a few people who bother to respond to it as well as a series of pathetic and childish insults?
I guarantee if I used work resources to deal with a relatively trivial (I say relatively because I know it’s a big problem for the blog for some) and most definitely personal issue, then I’d be disciplined and sacked.

(who we’re apparently not supposed to mention)
Why do so many take offence
At just a bit of blogging nonsense
In real life you deal with far worse shite
Than someone chatting shit on a football site
Yes, some things are out of order
But there’s nothing there that’s going to harm yer
And surely it’s not for the cops or GCHQ
Just let the obvious baiting wash over you

Comment #53Coming Home – I’m telling you, there are only 2 options to get rid of the troll.
1 – Ed bans him but he’s made it clear he doesn’t have the energy to deal with this BS.
2 – everyone ignores the troll. It will initially intensify its comments in a last gasp effort to get attention before disappearing and probably crying itself to sleep for a week because another group of people decided that it’s really just a pathetic and insignificant human being.
And I won’t be saying another thing on that topic today as it doesn’t deserve any more of my attention either.

Javea Toon, IMO FFP breaches many free trade rules. However it would need challenging in both UK and European courts unless CAS could take it. Eye watering costs though.

Comment #70Pug – a “foreign actor”? Unless you’re suggesting that our resident troll is actually a Russian spy, that makes no sense at all mate. Come on…you know that if you want people to believe this then you’re going to have to do better than that…

Comment #73AGM – if you’re going to down the route of free trade laws then the entire football transfer system would be in jeopardy. Clearly they have exemptions for allowing the registration of footballers for sporting competitions. Nothing to stop NUFC buying players for a billion quid but the PL and CL are within their rights to deny the registration of those players to play in their competitions and even deny the club itself. Their competitions, their rules, simple.
