At Last Some Good News On The Newcastle Injury Front – 2 Injured Players Fit For Saturday – 2 More Possible

There’s some good news doing the rounds today on the injury front and it’s from the Mail’s Craig Hope on his Twitter (X) account

Here’s the Tweet from Craig that’s caused some good news to finally circulate on Newcastle’s injury plight before we play Chelsea at home next Saturday against Chelsea 3:00pm KO.

Two players – Alexander Isak, and Miggy Almiron will be fit for the home game against Chelsea and we have to think Sean Longstaff has a good chance of being fit.

And of course, Bruno Guimaraes is available after serving his one-match ban against Bournemouth for picking up 5 yellow cards.

Longstaff had a swollen ankle and Miggy Almiron was taken off at Bournemouth after suffering a grade 1 hamstring injury,  but at least the experienced 53 times-capped Paraguayan International will be fit for Saturday.

It will also be good to have the talented and impressive Alexander Isak back in the front three.

We are also hoping that Fabian Schar is fit to play on Saturday, after missing Switzerland’s 1-1 with Kosovo, and Longtsaff hopefully has a decent chance to be in the starting lineup on Saturday.

The other very good news is that Sven Botman’s knee injury is now responding to treatment – finally!

If that continues and there is no swelling, it will mean he will not need an operation and therefore could be back much sooner than if surgery is needed.

The Premier League injury site has Sven’s return date down as 2nd December, that’s two weeks on Saturday.

We haven’t had much good news on the injury front recently, but this is some good news and hopefully, more of our injured players will soon be returning.

Comments welcome.

    Sticks and Stones

I don’t understand all the angst with the troll(s) on here, I certainly don’t understand Peter the pugs current angle?
He’s got a short memory as I remember him abusing Carltoon to some extent, I remember some of his own words.

But at the end of the day, they are just words on a blog, and absolutely none of them matter.
Not his, not mine, not the trolls, not yours.
Just pass them by, skip the post.
    How hard can it be?
I mean, even TDS has no problem skipping mine and mine’s wasn’t even abusive!

The only person in danger of getting any real grief from this is Dr Ed, and not one of us are worth that, to be brutally honest.
The day he pulls the plug on this place all these ‘problematic words’ that (supposedly) upset, will all just disappear into the ether with him anyway?
It won’t matter then, just as it doesn’t matter now.

We’re all on (his) borrowed time, respect it, ignore any spite and just enjoy the place.

I respect your view Nicky, but I don’t think it’s fine at all.
It’s not just unfair to us (and we’ve got the ownership to overcome it in time, in any case) but it’s unfair to the vast majority of teams.
    It favours only a few.

Your questioning of agent Pug leads me to believe you’ll be the villain in the new Bond movie. Goldfinger won’t have a look in.

Southgate targets number 1 ranking, does that mean England need to score 15

Not sure why a cricketing nation that have spent the last few decades whingeing and blatantly cheating deserve applauding. Hollow victories, did you use sandpaper on the ball yesterday or have you discovered even more subtle methods to avoid detection?

As for this Troll, as Mctoon has said, it’s not going anywhere, Ed has said as much. The only way is to ignore it, I said to ch yesterday he’d spoken to soon, everyone is pretty Universal in thinking the only way is to ignore it, foo#in spy rings and tracking it down, ffs just ignore it, it’ll surely get bored if people stop talking about it.

With Botman and Barnes set to join in with proper first team training this week and barring any adverse reactions. The bench for the 3pm home clash against Chelsea should look a lot stronger. 3 points in this one is massive for me. Keeps Chelsea below us and stops them building a head of steam, whilst keeping us in touch with the top 4.

Roll on Saturday, these breaks are tedious, and trying to catch up on the blog a nightmare, with that thing. Definitely the only way is to ignore.
Hope Trips is ok for the Chelsea game.
Is Botman ok to play, or will he be on the bench.

It’s weird how the football authorities allow a crap ‘owner’ to run a club into the ground, even leading to that club going out of biz, but don’t allow massive investment, possibly also leading to the town/city benefitting too, hey?
    What a weird world!

Still not sure how I feel about the idea of getting Ekitike.

Turned us down twice and hasn’t done much at PSG.

That being said though, the few clips i’ve seen of him (not the best scouting I know), he seems to drop and link play pretty well similar to Isak. So could fit into the way we play.

His finishing doesn’t look as good though. Mainly scores easy 1 on 1’s or tap ins. Anything outside the box or with a bit more work to do and he doesn’t look too convincing.

For me I guess it depends on his attitude when here. I don’t blame a young French player for wanting to go to PSG. Especially when we weren’t exactly flying high at the time, we were at the start of a project which may have fizzled out for all he knew.

His decision can be spun a number of ways too. People might think he is arrogant for thinking he can join PSG and get in the side, others may say confidence.

For me, he was a young man, joining the biggest club in his country. None of us know what advice he had around him or support. If he wants to join now, the clubs still want him and he gives his all when here, well I’d welcome him to the side.

Aye definitely depends on his character. Like you say his move could either be confidence or naivety. One thing to take into consideration is that if we are interested, it’ll be the 3rd time we’ve attempted to get him.

So clearly both Howe and Ashworth see something in him that they believe will benefit us immensely. Must also be convinced his attitude and character isn’t a problem.

I’d welcome him if he joined, but as I say there’s some pros and cons to his overall gameplay too. Similar link up and dropping deep style to Isak. But not as good at finishing from what i’ve seen and seems to really lack power when shooting from outside the box.

It wasn’t so much Etikite turning us down, there was that Rupert the bear post blatantly mocking us, that didn’t sit right, he’s basically turned in to a big of a shit bag since getting that move, our French correspondent doesn’t speak highly of his move.

If we did get him on loan it really would be win win, if he stick in and wins over the fans then happy days, we’ve got that RW/ST we need, if his attitude is questionable then off he trots to Saudi Arabia or the liwer echelons of Ligue one.

    I have reservations about Ekitike.

But then again I had reservations about Anthony Gordon so in the end I/we have to trust in Eddie Howe’s ability to get his players up to speed in more ways than one!

I don’t think Ekitike has ever played RW. Think he’s played vast majority as centre forward and then a few appearances at LW.

Imo,i would stay well away from Hugo, he has already shunned us twice.
There are plenty of gifted forwards who would genuinely love to join our project so why go crawling to him and maybe even be rejected a third time, how embarrassing would that be.

Right, i am off to the Toon to see a pal for a wet, anyone in the vicinaty at 1pm i will be in The Centurian, you are more than welcome to join for a chinwag.
Just look out for a Robert De Nero lookalike with a limp 🙂
