South American Forward On Newcastle’s Radar For January Signing

There are various recent reports that Newcastle want to sign young Juventus star forward Matias Soule in January.

The 20-year-old Argentine U20 International forward is playing well on loan at Italian club Frosinone in the Serie A this season, and it seems that Juventus are willing to sell the player for €25M (£21.8M) in January.

Juventus have money problems and have to sell players quickly to improve their poor financial position.

The left-footed player usually plays on the right wing and is on a season-long loan at Frosinone, but that could all change if Newcastle are really interested in signing the player in January.

Another advantage is he is versatile and can play in multiple forward positions.

Soule has played 16 games this season at Frosinone with 6 goals and an assist, and he has looked like an impressive young player in Serie A.

He has played 21 times for the Juventus first team with one goal.

His style of play is stated as follows on Wikipedia

“Soule is a left-footed right winger, noted for his dribbling ability and set-piece taking, earning him comparisons to Angel Di Maria.”

He was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, and is of Italian descent, and he holds dual citizenship, and considers Independiente his favorite team and Lionel Messi his favorite player (that’s a surprise).

Soule has 7 caps for the Argentine U20 side so he is a typical Newcastle target.

He’s a young player (who stands 6ft tall) and looks to have the ability to become much improved at Newcastle, under the guidance of head coach Eddie Howe and his coaching staff.

However, Newcastle are not the only club keeping an eye on the youngster, with other top European clubs are also aware of the player’s talents.

It would be a surprise to us if Newcastle sign any players permanently in January.

But there again, if a target is available in January for a decent price, and can help us in the second half of the season, as long as it’s within FFP rules and for the long term, Newcastle should sign the player.

Soule is certainly one to keep an eye on for next month, once the transfer window opens.

    Jail

As I was watching him preparing to take that pen I was thinking that he did not look at all confident and wasn’t surprised when he missed it so badly.

I reckon the backroom staff have some work to do.

Jail, I pay no heed to rumours like that. Only Trippier and his family will know and even if true it’s none of our business. My money’s on simple exhaustion and sheer bad luck.

Trips was the first player to join the project..

Would sure as hell love it if he held aloft our first trophy under this ownership..

A player of his calibre doesn’t his class overnight..
Hope all goes well for him.. whatever that may be.. and he comes back stronger..

Jail, speculation like this has been the ruin of many a marriage/partnership and it’s based on someone’s idle guess. It should be called out for what it is. IMO of course.

So if banning the Superleague has been ruled illegal does that mean they get their fines back?

Only three clubs declaring for it. What’s the phrase? Deader than…..

Before you read further , I’m not saying one is better than the other…
Growing up in Newcastle with parents and grandparents staunch newcastle supporters , telling you one day you’ll play for the toon , living the Saturdays ( was less midweek games then) with the whole of the city dressed in b&w makes you see everything in b&w regardless of the reality we were a bit shite .. I didn’t care I was going to the goldstone ground with a fat micky quinn and getting beaten .. I was following my club from my heart , in my blood.
I think fans from elsewhere , although as passionate as any fan don’t get that and follow with thier head as much as thier heart – or maybe its just a working class thing … even though my kids laugh at me when I tell them I’m working class ( I haven’t forgotten my roots ) , I made my kids follow the toon and I love it that they are now seeing some success . I’m also aware there’s a growing set of toon born fans not getting it .. maybe it’s just an age thing ..me being an old bugger

It was clear that Trips didn’t look confident on the Penalty.
His run up was always too short and like in golf he shanked his shot all too predictably.

    Short run ups – oot
Left footed penalty takers (they often miss) – oot
New signings in January – in

Do you have kippers as starters for Xmas lunch ?

Every time I see Will Hughes featured it reminds me of that meme that was doing the rounds at the world cup. I think it was the Senegal fans with a white guy sitting among all the Senegalese, with the caption, ‘Will Hughes in the Palace dressing room’ 😀

Got a thing going on at Harrogate town..

Had to sign a emergency keeper..
He’s played for Bristol rovers.. forest green and Harrogate..
Seems that Notts county want to sign him in January..

Is it a 3 club rule..
Or is it different rules for a keeper..?

Can’t seem to get any specifics on google..?

    I don’t agree Gloom.

Try supporting nufc when everyone else supports man u Liverpool etc. The Irish fans I know are utterly hard core nufc fans and it takes a certain dedication to keep that up for years.

Jail we didn’t need him. We had plenty on the left.

Re Tripps, I think it’s a relationship issue.

I’d also ask why Eddie keeps playing him if he is so shattered mentally.

Luton is so big now. At least we won’t see 22% possession and a few shots. It was abysmal the other night, but it made it hurt more that a poor performance got us to a minute of getting through.

I suppose the 11 against Luton might look something like this….

    ………………….Dubravka.
    .Trippier…Lascelles…..Botman…Burn.
    ………………..Guimaraes.
    ………..Miley………………Lobby.
    .Almiron……….Wilson…….Livramento.

Maybe Ritchie on the left flank, and Livramento at fullback, and one of Trippier, Botman and Burn dropping to the bench, alongside Dummett and Hall, who won’t get on, Karius, Gillespie and a few kids.

Good Lord, must win, and can, but deary me, this is the worst run with injuries I’ve ever seen.

I know I’ve had disagreements with DrGloom in the past (it’s not like me at all like) – But I’ve thought it for a while now that he comes across very well on here, very balanced and thoughtful. On that note the post #133 was one of the best posts I’ve read on here in a while. It was from the heart, open and honest and really struck a cord. Great post and it’s one of the reasons why I love this blog so much when you read such posts. Kudos to the man. He’s a genuine good’un
