Callum Wilson has been linked with AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United in this January window but Eddoe Hpwe was adamant in his press conference this morning that he is 100% committed to Newcastle United.
Since he was signed in August of 2020, for around £20M, Wilson has been quite prolific in his scoring, and in 102 games for the Magpies, he has scored 46 goals with 11 assists.
That’s an excellent return from the former Bournemouth and Coventry striker, who turns 32 next month.
Eddie Howe has today said there is really nothing in the speculation surrounding Callum Wilson and Howe would never let his second striker leave the club this month without bringing in a replacement.
This is what Eddie Howe said about Callum this morning:
“I’ve had those conversations with Callum,”
“He is 100% committed just like Kieran Trippier is. That’s why I’m surprised by the noise around Callum really.”
“He’s currently injured, we’ve got one fit striker and he is our second striker and we are desperate to get him back.”
“From his and our perspective, there is nothing in him leaving.”
“That’s been a strange one really because there’s been a lot of speculation regarding Callum and I’ve seen some of it, probably not all of it but a lot of it.”
“I think it has been unfounded.”
It’s looking like we will not be bringing anybody in this month and not losing anybody either.
That will leave the summer transfer window to be a potential big one.
At that time Newcastle can decide to offload some of our older players, and we will also have money to spend, within the rules allowed by PSR.
Comments welcome.

Comment #53Anyways, another slow news day.
Still expect Phil Billings from Bournemouth, but it does seem a stop gap signing. Cover for Big and Little Joe. Neither of whom he’s probably better than. But one may be sacrificed in the summer.
Loving the blog. Such a happy well mannered place. 🙂

Evening mate, you make a very valid point in where you find an area where there is ship building or there has been mining, those particular communities tend to be very warm and welcoming!! I also don`t subscribe to people from places like London not being friendly, i went to visit an Irish friend who lives in Barnet North London a number of years ago for a week, and the people were very nice polite and very friendly, and i had a great time mate, i guess it`s so easy to fall into the trap of unjustifiable stereotyping people marra.

I’m also finding the fat ones posts hilarious. You get some vaguely intelligent football related ones, interspersed with what can only be described as Tourette’s on another level. I accept that those on the receiving end might take offence, and if kids are reading this then that is an issue. But it’s just bonkers rubbish to be ignored.

Comment #77Last year’s transfer window in January was the record breaking one where the Premier league spent more than all the top leagues combined
To keep the best league in the world tag they won’t be able to keep this up with teams not spending
