Here is the behind-the-scenes (match cam) video of our great 2-0 win at Craven Cottage last Saturday.
Goals from local lads Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn were enough to put us through to the 5th round of the FA Cup.
That’s only the second time since 2005 that we have done that – a reflection of the terrible 14 years we had under the stewardship of former owner Mike Ashley.
And we will play at Blackburn Rovers in the 5th round, (they beat Wrexham 4-1 last night), so we have a very decent chance of making it through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
We have a tough game tonight at Aston Villa, with only 27% of our readers believing we can win this game.

2023/24:
Aston Villa (a)
Newcastle return to Premier League action at Villa Park tonight. The game kicks off at the ungodly hour of 8.15pm for live transmission in the UK via TNT Sport.
Since a 2-1 win in September 2013, United have played there six times in the top-flight without scoring; successive 0-0 draws followed by a quartet of defeats.
The last Magpie to find the net at Villa Park was Yoan Gouffran in that 2013 visit, since when we’ve completed 557 scoreless Premier League minutes.
(Not included in that sequence is the 1-1 draw in the 2016/17 Championship season, when our goal was actually an OG registered by a Villan).
Team: Miguel Almiron is set to return after illness, but Jamaal Lascelles isn’t ready yet.
Of the other absentees Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson are the closest to returning, followed by Joe Willock and then Elliot Anderson with others (Matt Targett, Nick Pope, Joelinton) further back.
Bruno Guimaraes is just one yellow card away from reaching 10 in the PL and triggering an automatic two game ban. Anthony Gordon is two bookings short of suffering the same fate.
There’s the possibility of a PL debutant for the Magpies tonight, with midfielder Joe White returning from loan at Crewe Alexandra and joining the first team squad in training – although ineligible to face Fulham in the FA Cup last Saturday.
The 21 year-old native of Carlisle has squad number 40 and has made 57 appearances loan appearances since February 2022 for Hartlepool United, Exeter City and Crewe.
First spotted in friendly action for Newcastle away to Rotherham United in July 2021, Joe featured against Gateshead and Rangers in this pre-season but didn’t make the squad that travelled to the USA.
Dear me 😮

Comment #6Honestly don’t mind if we sit deep and invite Villa onto us tonight. Think Villa’s biggest weakness is their high line, whcih they’ll definitely be playing at home. So inviting them onto us, being strong defensively with a good shape and catch them out with pace on the break is a very good way to try and hurt them.
