Toon In Training For Nottingham Forest – Health Update

Here’s another nufcTV video showing the Newcastle players in training for the game at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, which has an early 12:30 pm kick-off time.

All our games for the rest of the season are important, as we try to climb the Premier League table and also advance in the FA Cup.

Our 5th round FA Cup tie at Blackburn is on Tuesday, February 27th with a 7:45pm KO time.

Almost 80% of our readers think we can win the game this coming Saturday – that would be great.

Health Update:

8th February, 2024

An update on my health situation – we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects – diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.

And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones: there are no new treatments left for me to go on.

I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and will help treat the side effects of the many treatments I have had.

It’s down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will take its course.

I hope Newcastle can get many (many) wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.

🙂

I will continue to write articles as long as I can.

Thanks for all your help through the years – it’s very much appreciated.

Ed Harrison

I’ve had a word with the FA and Javea and Dazzler are on the next plane to IFAB’s meeting.

Watching a podcast last night they mentioned top 5.

We don’t have a prayer of that.

Just make cynical fouls straight red. Dissent yellow.

I’m against sin bin as no one wants to see photo of fatty fenners wearing blue thong being shown by ref every match 😀

Blue cards ? What a fecking nonsense.
Probably to allow ‘sponsor breaks’ for some quick adverts as per American sport led by franchisers and dollars. No thnaks.

The issue is the refs inability NOT to award yellow cards for deliberate fouls, shirts pulls that stop break our or attacking play during the transition phase (what bollox as well).

How many times this season have we been on the receiving end of decisions NOT to award yellow cards that then award the opposition some benefit that might affect the result of the game.

It doesn’t matter if the game is only 10 seconds old, a softly softly finger wigging of the ref to players (especially those from 6 certain clubs well versed in the dark arts ) is allowing their team to benefit from deliberate cheating.
Nor does it matter where the foul tales place on the pitch. If a team like us with Bruno able to ping a ball up field on a break out from our penalty area is deliberately fouled then it could be stopping a goal scoring opportunity.

Bet the beggars will think twice about doing it if they have to carry a yellow all through a game. Still, the slimey six thought about that. 5 quality subs that they can afford ( FFP or not) on the bench can be good insurance against having only 10 players left on the pitch.

It’s the Kings clothes concept – no-one can see how the game is being manipulated for the few.

    Taco,

Just in case you’ve missed my post elsewhere – I’ve located a Vitoria postbox about 2 miles from WB!

Spot on. I just don’t think it’ll be applied consistently by refs. They don’t with yellow cards now so why would they with blue cards. TAA against us is a prime example

I did see your response on Caulkin and whilst I can not remember it verbatim, it seemed to chime with what I said. Which is why I made the original comment.

    Blue cards arghhhhhhhh
As I wrote last night – take the Chelsea game I think it was the League Cup when one of their players took out Gordon should of been red – in the fracas we had 3 players booked – three blue cards down to 8 players for ten for arguing it was a horrible foul

Another very interesting presser from Eddie, when he was quizzed about the midfield his answer was Sean, Lewis and Bruno are individually having a good season, a very intelligent choice of words, and needless to say Eddie would never in any circumstances throw any players under the bus, which i greatly admire!! But in his private thoughts i wonder does Eddie really think our present midfield collectively function as a unit, i doubt it very much, but Eddie really has no alternative at the moment due to the intense injury crisis unfortunately.

Blue cards…you have to be kidding me. I think the PL just want the refs to have a pocket of rainbow cards to pull out and shown to everyone. 🙂
But in all seriousness it will kill the game and will never be able to be applied evenly for the instances it is supposed to control. You want to control it. Dish out the yellows when you are supposed to now and when players really start getting the reds they will wise up. A blue card will not do it.

Great comment from onmeedsun, especially the suggestion regarding the potential WorFlags tribute for Dr. Ed!

” One thing is for sure.

All of us who’ve have frequented this blog over the years will remember Ed when we actually win something, along with all the other toon fans we know who are no longer with us. It’s how we live on.

And if anyone has any pull with Worflags, how about a flag for Ed. I’m sure they’d do it for NUFC.com. All part of the Geordie community.”

If there is someone with the necessary contacts, probably via X / Twitter, it may be an opportune time for “everyone” to make a donation to Wor Flags for a tribute flag to Dr. Ed.

They have their own donation facility on their website but the site is unfortunately down at the moment; I was going to suggest WorB could perhaps organise it but I had second thoughts. 😉
