Eddie Howe will not have Alexander Isak or Anthony Gordon available for Newcastle’s game at Nottingham Forest tomorrow.
But hopefully, Callum Wilson is available to start this game and we do have Harvey Barnes also available, after his comeback last weekend, when he scored in the 4-4 draw at home to Luton Town.
There will be some fans looking at who starts at left-back after Dan Burn was responsible for two of the goals we conceded last week in the 4-4 home draw.
It may be time to give England U21 International Tino Livramento a big chance at left-back. since the 21-year-old Croydon-born player has never let us down when he’s been in the Newcastle first team this season.
Here’s the team we would start tomorrow:
Dubravka
Trippier (c) Schar Botman Livramento
Longstaff Guimaraes Miley
Almiron Wilson Barnes
What team would you start tomorrow?

Comments are always welcome.

Comment #43That’s not a freak injury. It’s an injury that can happen in a game of football. A freak injury is Dave Beasant trying to trap a ketchup bottle and breaking a bone in his foot
The other issue was that sending him out at the start of the second half was not a smart or necessary move.

In your opinion its not.
Call it what you like it’s not the run of the mill muscle injury from overplaying.
As a couple have pointed out on here, they probably worked on him over the break and sent him out to test him. He obviously realised he couldn’t shake it off so he came of after 2 minutes

I really can’t make you out at times. You simply will not listen to anyone else’s point of view if it doesn’t tally with your own and suits your agenda. It just lends itself to you making endlessly snidey and bitchy remarks that just make you appear to be living in a bubble and somewhat divorced from reality, like living a kind of neverland existence.
EH has even admitted he’s made mistakes and effectively not trusted his bench, ie Krafth, Hall, Dummet, Tino et al resulting in chronic fatigue, in turn leading to more injuries. Some people even supporting the view that it was better to keep a better player on, even if they were out on their feet, than put on a lesser fitter player for the last 10/15 mins of games.
I suppose Pat Nevin has it all wrong too as we must all bow to your superior knowledge. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-legend-says-there-no-28600076

Comment #52Is this City protecting their backsides ?
The Premier League is facing the threat of legal action from a club over amended rules around commercial deals.
On Friday, rules regarding associated party transactions (ATPs) were tightened, aimed at clubs signing sponsorship deals with companies linked to their owners.
ATPs can inflate revenue streams and allow more room for spending.
League officials have not named the club but informed all 20 of the threat at a shareholders’ meeting in London.
The legal threat surrounds whether the Premier League’s rules are compatible with competition law.

Comment #53What the foo# has it got to do with Pat Nevin, it’s bloody obvious he should have took Burn off earlier now isn’t it, that’s just the perfect excuse you’ve needed to justify your whining about him these last few months.

Comment #57With respect I think 50,000 could see Burn needed taking off at half time, not when a further 2 goals down. Look I get it, you won’t have a word against EH, even when the guy himself said he’d made mistakes. For reference Nevin was commentating on the game so probably entitled to an opinion as an excellent and high class former footballer .

Comment #58Re the flag for Ed.
Unfortunately I don’t know anyone at WOR flags, but I’m sure they would do a flag if we could find a way of funding it separately from their normal stuff. I’ve been donating £1 a month for 2 years now. Not a lot and quite honestly doesn’t register when I’m in my counting house inspecting the monthly damage. But when 10k fans do it, it can really add up.
WOR flags has been the best thing about the new NUFC post takeover. The time these guys give up is exceptional. If you’re fortunate to get to SJP on match days you will be in awe of the atmosphere they create.
I will see if there is a way of contacting them on their website.

Comment #60The Wor Flags website is now back on-line so I have posted them a comment regarding a suitable “tribute flag” dedicated to Dr. Ed for his contribution to the NUFC cause.
If there is a positive response to the comment I will copy it onto here and onto the Discord site so that folk will have an opportunity to make a donation.

My sister in Law sent that to me last night, i can be a bit mischievous at times so just couldn`t resist sharing it with my blog family 😀 😀 But no malice or offence intended my friend. I wasn`t aware you have been to Newcastle County Down John, a very nice place, the next time you`re over, you and Eileen really should visit Ballycastle and get the ferry over to Rathlin Island, it`s a truly beautiful place and is more or less between N Ireland and Scotland marra.

Yes at The Comrades Club 1:30 – 5:00. There’s different levels of abilities everyone gets a chance to do “a turn” 🙂
Should say it’s not on on the first Friday of the month. I’ve not been this year due to my respiratory issues. Now on 4th batch of Antibiotics 🙁
Let me know if you are heading there – we use the side room. Regards John.
