Eddie Howe will not have Alexander Isak or Anthony Gordon available for Newcastle’s game at Nottingham Forest tomorrow.
But hopefully, Callum Wilson is available to start this game and we do have Harvey Barnes also available, after his comeback last weekend, when he scored in the 4-4 draw at home to Luton Town.
There will be some fans looking at who starts at left-back after Dan Burn was responsible for two of the goals we conceded last week in the 4-4 home draw.
It may be time to give England U21 International Tino Livramento a big chance at left-back. since the 21-year-old Croydon-born player has never let us down when he’s been in the Newcastle first team this season.
Here’s the team we would start tomorrow:
Dubravka
Trippier (c) Schar Botman Livramento
Longstaff Guimaraes Miley
Almiron Wilson Barnes
What team would you start tomorrow?

Comments are always welcome.

That was a really brilliant day when a lot of the blog members met up, and we witnessed the Toon beating the saints 3-1 another amazing blog memory that will stand the test of time, and it clearly wouldn`t have been possible without Dr Ed creating this this astonishing blog mate.

Evening mate, i see you were actually at that particular game against the Saints, were you not aware of the Blog meet up that day JT, as we did mention it quite a few times on here, and all blog members were invited, and fortunately on the day we had a really good attendance of blog members, and everyone had a fantastic day mate.

Beat me to it.
Good move with Wor Flags.
No reason to think that they won’t be able to help so let’s see what they say about size and cost.
As to content a large photo of the good man perhaps with his name above as ‘Dr. Ed’ or ‘Dr. Ed Harrison’ and below a timeless line such as ‘Local Hero’ or ‘Coming Home’ or ‘Legend’.
Might not be a ‘surfer’, but a good size flag behind the goal at the Gallowgate would seem best ?
Ideally at the Wolves game ? Coincides with the new Mark Knopfler version of ‘ Local Hero’ which is to raise funds for ‘The Teenage Cancer Trust’. Seems relevant in the context of Dr. Ed’s own cancer journey.
Idea – if there’s a suggested cost each we could transfer a payment to Wor Flags bank account using a reference such as ‘Dr. Ed’ – that way they can let us know how much is in the kitty and what size of flag they can provide. A flag that pehaps can make appearances in the future and at the FA Cup Final !
Keep us posted.

Comment #89WLtoon wants to know about roofers.
A woman is on holiday and contacts her family.
“How’s my cat?” she inquires of her husband.
“The cat is dead,” says the husband.
The woman is agitated and says, “You could have given me the news when I got home. Now I can’t enjoy my trip. You could’ve just told a white lie about the cat being on the roof and being unable to pull her down.”
“Okay, I’m sorry,” says the husband, “I’ll remember that.”
The woman says, “Anyway, how’s my mother doing?”
The husband says, “Your mother’s on the roof and we can’t get her down.” 😆

Comment #90I hope Barnes starts. It’s hard not to imagine our best front three being Gordon, Isak and Barnes, with Murphy, Miggy and Callum Wilson being great options off the bench, and it seems to me we are getting closer to seeing that.
Don’t really mind if it’s Burn or Livra at lb, I like them joth. But if it’s Burn, and there are good reasons it might be, then obviously he needs more help than he got v Luton.
Gotta say we do have a very good squad, undone by injury and suspension this term and so many games in quick succession against top opposition, which is unfortunate, but also very probably could’ve been better managed, apart from Tonali, which was a sickener straight out of left field. But you learn by doing, usually by failing a little less each time, and we are close now to something quite formidable. Plenty to play for this season, and plenty more next. It’s only going to get better. Mouthwatering really.

You can get a ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast on Stenna Line or also Cairnryan to Larne with P&O
If you are heading from Holyhead to Dublin It’s also Stenna Line.

Comment #95Think Clive Tyldsley and Mcoist are best commentator team.
Andy gray and hairy hands used to be highly rated at sky until they got sacked.
But for me its the main itv champions league commentators who were the best
Ron Atkinson used to be the co commentator but was racis* against Desailly and got sacked.
Peter Brackley was good on channel 4. As was John Motson on BBC.
One commentator I didnt like was Jonathan Pearce.

Comment #97We need a proper off season. A genuine lay off so bodies and minds can fully rest and recover, and then a steady thorough build up in pre season, plus one or two key quality additions. Nowadays though, a genuine lay off simply doesn’t happen. So much football is played, that performance surely must be diminished as a consequence. You really do need a big squad of sufficient quality, depth and balance to consistently compete for trophies, but having said that, you do need experience and quality at the helm to manage it. We have City and Liverpool in our sights. I don’t think anyone doubts that. It’ll still take a bit of time and patience, but the pay off will be monumentally big.

Tbh I was just lurking back then(the good old days). Generally when we come over it’s a bit of a whirlwind, visiting family, especially the kids and grandkids. Bit easier now that me daughter’s moved from Scotland back to Newcastle. Son and the 2 of the grandkids live way down south on Teeside.
Try to get over twice a year during footy season to go to the match but after the Saints game has to go back to UK again in June as me Dad had a cardiac arrest…bloody selfish not having it during the season tho!

Haven’t you half cherry picked what you wanted to hear from that presser ffs. “Certainly we’ve made mistakes and certainly we could do things better” You two want to crucify him for that ffs
He’s also said that you can’t just turn a relegation club in to a CL club in two minutes. It just seems like your selfish views (according to The Athletic poll) aren’t good enough for us?

Comment #107Jail, your opinion is irrelevant.
Anyone who cannot balance up what they see in front of their eyes – that opinion is irrelevant because its one eyed, head in the sand stuff.
I don’t want Eddie out – not even slightly – but both him and Pat Nevin can look at things and give a balanced, nuanced opinion.
Your opinion isn’t worth a dime on this because all I hear is ” don’t criticise Eddie” , and that type of hypersensitivity.

Comment #110Magic…He’s good now mate, thanks. We were all told to say our goodbyes to him as they were gonna reduce the life support and wouldn’t resuscitate him again. Said his organs would be too badly damaged and almost certain brain damage. Next day sat up in bed boring the nurses with his tales of working as a plant operative.
Just recently got his driving licence back so he’s owa the moon. He’s indestructible tbf, broke his neck in the 70’s, brain aneurysm 2012, prostate cancer not 2018…he defies medical science.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Wondered if you were a Jarrow lad who’d been on the lash and couldn’t spell his own name.
Or from Java which is more exotic.

Spot on re Eddie, but even Eddie admits to collective mistakes. They are all learning but he’s an intelligent man so I’ve every confidence he will adapt and grow. But we’re still allowed to comment on performances on this blog. Sometimes it’s the only way to get rid of the pain of a defeat. It’s a safe space and doesn’t mean we’re trying to pull the club down. We all want something better, as does Eddie, every day he goes to work.
