Nottingham Forest 2 Newcastle United 3 – Match Cam Video

Here is the Match Cam video from the City Ground at Nottingham Forest yesterday, when Newcastle United won 3-2.

With West Ham literally being hammered 6-0 by Arsenal at home today we remain in 7th place in the league.

But a late goal by Manchester United gave them a victory at Aston Villa and we are now 5 points behind the 6th-placed Red Devils.

Who Was Newcastle's Man Of The Match Against Nottingham Forest?

Gail has always been argumentative. A leopard never changes its spots. He cant debate only argue. You either agree with him or off with your head 😀

Dubravka was reaching away from the player, not towards him, so I’ve got no idea how that could possibly be classed as a penalty. His only intent was to try to push the ball out.

I’ve said enough about the pen or no pen? Would have been gutted if given against us. But as for our woes, yes losing Pope has been the big milestone. We have struggled since he has gone. As good as Dubs has been, our defence can’t cope without him, maybe his shot outs and calls. That’s main reason for our struggles as far as I’m concerned. Just wish had got ramsdale in, want him and pope battling it out for us and England

I understand folks’ frustration at the lack of responses to suggestions for a tribute to Dr Ed. It is the weekend when offices may be closed.

I suggested another avenue being that of the news media. Surely there must be those among us who are on good terms with journalists? The Chronic’s possibly the best one to approach – there’s potential for a story about a local lad who’s devoted much of his life to supporting Newcastle United from playing with the younguns to supporting them from the USA – his lifetime!

Come on Chronicle journos who we know look in on here, do yourselves a favour and run a good story about a man that deserves global recognition.

A true sot wouldn’t be up at 06:23. Absolutely uncalled for attack last night no need for it. I didn’t suggest for a minute that anyone thinking it was a pen was ‘stupid’ I just suggested their judgement was clouded by bias and I stand by that. I wasn’t chucking petty insults around just arguing my point which is surely what the blog is for. Absolutely foo# all said to those involved in childish spats all day though.

What Raj is saying is that most of us don’t think it was a penalty because it was against us. However if it had been the other way around with, say, Wilson on their keeper we’d all be screaming stone wall penalty.
In reality it was one of those you sometimes see given and sometimes not – I think what swung it in our favour was the referee didn’t give it on field.

The blog got a bit feisty this weekend
And a bit naughty too, I can’t pretend
Yes, on occasion it got a touch out of hand
But I’d rather have that than it being too bland

We had a ‘to and fro’ about kids being stabbed
And who said what about getting jabbed
Things then turned a little more dark
About watching smalls boys in the park

A couple of fellas reignited their feud
And not even a win could lighten the mood
It rumbled on into Sunday morning
With put downs and insults and further name calling

But I’m leaving all that in the past
As Valentine’s Day is approaching fast
And I’ve written a nice romantic tune
The details of which are coming soon

For fifteen bloggers there’s one verse for you
But one lucky punter has actually got two
As a recent event has got me taking the P
Check back tomorrow to find who it could be
    😉

    Just banter of course!

    STANDING OVATION FOR ISAAC HAYDEN

Midfielder Isaac Hayden, borrowed from Newcastle United on deadline day, could end up being the most crucial of the players brought in.

The 28-year-old has gained plenty of Championship experience throughout his time at Newcastle, Norwich and Hull City, and his understanding of the game was on full display against his former side on Saturday.

Hayden made four tackles, which was more than any other player on the pitch, and complemented that with three interceptions, as he helped QPR control Norwich’s dangerous forward players in the first half.

As the deepest midfielder in Cifuentes’ side, his defensive contribution stands out, but he also has to play an important role when QPR are in possession.

With Cifuentes encouraging his side to play out from defence whenever possible, the holding midfielder has the responsibility to progress the ball and get his team up the pitch.

Hayden was adept at this on Saturday, completing 93% of his passes and also making four key passes.

The Arsenal academy graduate had to be substituted in the 86th minute after struggling with cramp, but as he was replaced by Lyndon Dykes, Loftus Road gave him the sort of standing ovation that is usually reserved for the goal-scoring heroics of Chris Willock or Ilias Chair.
