Newcastle take on one of their biggest challenges of this season when we play at Manchester City in the FA Cup.
So far, this season is turning out to be a disappointment for Newcastle, after we were unlucky to go out of Europe and the Carabao Cup after conceding in both games very late in stoppage time.
Currently we are 10th in the league table with only 11 games to play so we have to try to move up to at least 7th place to qualify for some European competition next season.
Here’s a team that hopefully can get through tonight at the Etihad stadium – but that’s a huge ask on current form.

That’s a decent team but we haven’t been showing up for games recently, and we were so poor in defense in the 3-2 defeat last time out at Chelsea.
The majority of readers think we will lose this game, and some are still angry at the poor form shown by Newcastle last time out on Monday night.

Comment #7I wouldn’t play Burn or Longstaff as both haven’t played well in the last few games and probably need a rest.
I would play Murphy instead of Almiron as he looked sharp against Chelsea and seems more likely to score with either foot than Miggy who is so one sided.

The last time we played Citeh away in the FA cup was in 1975: We won 2-0 thanks to Micky Burns and Geoff Nulty.
The tie should have been played at Newcastle but the FA ordered that the match be played at Maine Road following crowd disorder at SJP the previous season.
