Newcastle’s New Partnership Adds Additional Commercial Revenue

Newcastle United have announced a new partnership with Quidd, which on their website says they are a unified product suite enhanced with Generative AI, dedicated to offering unmatched predictive market insights and customer context.

This is some of what Newcastle United have announced on their website:

Newcastle United and Quidd, the digital collectibles and NFT marketplace and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announce a multi-year partnership as the club’s first official digital collectible partner.

The partnership will provide Newcastle United supporters around the world with the opportunity to build and trade collections of officially licensed digital trading cards, digital video moments, and digital memorabilia on Quidd while unlocking a number of exclusive experiences.

The first series of limited-edition Newcastle United digital trading cards, developed in partnership with Leaf – a leading sports trading card company – will be released on 28th March 2024 at 2pm (GMT) on the Quidd marketplace.

The series will feature over 200 bespoke player cards and will retail starting from just £0.79 per pack of three trading cards, ensuring the inaugural collection is affordable for fans and collectors on any budget.

Michael Bramlage, CEO of Quidd said the following:

“The collecting of footbll sticksers and cards is deeply embedded in football cultrue.”

“In the same way that the Internet, mobile devices and streaming services have profiundly chnaged the football viewing experience. We are using technology to help transform the football collecting exoerince.”

“Our partnership with Newcastle United will showcase the unique capabilities of digital collectibles as an easy, fast, and fun way to collect, updating a long-cherished hobby for the modern age.”

Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer of Newcastle United, said:

“Quidd is the ideal partner for our first-ever, officially licensed, digital collection.”

“As Newcastle United’s fanbase expands globally, it is important we find new, and innovative, ways to build strong connections with club supporters wherever they are, and across a variety of different platforms.”

“This innovative partnership with Quidd will allow us to reach and engage club supporters through an exciting digital collection which will augment our much-anticipated future retail offering.”

Newcastle are certainly revving up to bring increased revenues into the club, which we will need quickly so we don’t have to sell some of our best players like Bruno Guimaraes.

The Shields Gazette points out that this deal means we have created over £65M in extra sponsorship revenue over the last year alone, so some good work is being done by Peter Silverstone.

We already have the £40M per year Adidas deal that starts this summer, so we hope to keep our best players in the summer – and not have to sell them to strengthen other positions on the field.

    magicmac54,
Gary Lineker never scored from outside the box, you’ve got to be in it to win it 😀

I drifted away 2 years ago ( nowt to say mainly) then became a widower suddenly, briefly felt energised to return a year ago but it tailed of after week or so despite a welcome from most

I was very sorry indeed to read of your loss!

I’m very grateful for all the friends and fellow NUFC followers I have on this blog, some I’ve met (approximately ten) and most I’m yet to meet. It’s good to share points of view even if we aren’t always “singing from the same hymn sheet”. I know that we wish for the same thing and that’s to see our club in a successful situation winning the EPL & Cups. I put a silly £5 on Toon to win the EPL this season but I recon the bookies will be keeping that. But I’m going to get my bet in sharp for next season – it’s only a matter of time! 🙂
