Peter Silverstone Identifies The Next Step To Increase Newcastle’s Commercial Revenue

Peter Silverstone, head of the Commercial deals at the club, told the Fan Advisory Board at the end of last month the top priority for Newcastle is now to do a deal with a training kit partner.

In the past, the partner who had the names of the shirts (like SELA has now at Newcastle) did the deal for training too, but the top clubs these days are separating the partners for the jersey worn during games from the players’ training kit.

That adds up to more commercial revenue for the clubs.

This is what  Peter Silverstone said in a meeting with the club’s fan advisory board last month:

“Securing a training kit partner is a top priority for commercial partnerships,”

“If we can attract global partners, they can help us to activate and attract new fans in previously unreached markets.”

“Adidas, for example, is committing to supporting our growth globally and from a brand perspective, it will be a watershed moment for the club.”

“Ultimately, that relationship, like all kit partnerships, relies on fans buying products locally and internationally.”

Silverstone has been the top executive at Newcastle driving up the club’s commercial revenues to hopefully be in line with the top six clubs in England asap.

We did almost nothing to increase commercial revenues under the previous owner, so we are starting with a low commercial revenue number.

But our total revenues in the last financial year – through June 30th of last year – were £250M – an almost 40% increase over the previous year of about £180M.

Commercial revenues increased from £28M to £46M – a 64% increase in the same period.

So we are getting there and the more revenue we earn the more we can spend on players according to the PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules).

What do you think?

Lesh was not defending the troll. Lesh was pointing out that some of your posts are equally obnoxious and show that you have no understanding of what’s going on in the world.

Stick to talking football and leave your politics to.one side.

why cant we just have spending caps on player values in the PL. Its like its a ‘viral’ market. some player bangs in a worldie and the press and social media are all over it inflating prices. Its silly.

Commiserations to Greece but, no disrespect, you should be able to beat Georgia to play in the Euros.

On the friendly – when did friendlies stop being friendly? These teams gave their all.

Both candidates to win it, two excellent teams. MOM the Belgian City guy, Docu is it.

Pass of the match and goal of the match, the Lucacu Tielemans second.

Ahh, we salvaged a draw, I went to bed on 94 minutes. I see Bruno came off at HT and got a booking out of his system 😀
So apart from Miley is everyone unscathed.

So MIley possibly out for awhile – hadn’t realised our medical team were involved in England set up as well 😉

Dubs absence was apparently for personal reasons?

Sad news about Miley, was always a chance it could happen with his workload this season. Probably why Howe recently took him out the starting 11, to try and avoid this from happening. But it’s been just our luck this season.

Hopefully Anderson can stay fit and he should now see a lot more game time. Chance for him to really impress between now and the end of the season. Possibly more game time for Joe White as well who I thought has looked decent when he’s come off the bench.

at lest we have one piece of good news this morning,

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot loves Minteh and hopes he can stay for another season, which must be highly unlikely under the clubs current circumstances

Miley should be back in no time, the England medics sent him home with a powerful remedy…

    “Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
    Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting,
    Lizard’s leg and howlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.“

That Feyenord coach should start making statements like he’s still raw, still needs to develop etc if he wants to keep him.

The way he’s been complimenting him, damn straight I’m taking him back! 🙂

PS. What happened to that other guy Kuol? Didn’t he score for Australia a couple days ago? If they tell us he’s raw, needs to further develop, don’t believe them! Bring him back too!

There’s nobody more than me would like to see the blog as a political no go zone. My innocent comment that the Earth is round and that the holocaust actually happened brought on a tirade of vile verbal abuse from that thing that shall not be named. It was 100% uncalled for! However that thing can call me all the uncouth names under the sun but nothing will EVER change my belief about the horrors that occurred to the Jewish people during WW2

I’ve actually met a lady who was on the Kinder Transport – I’ve seen real photos from that time – the Holocaust did happen 100% no argument!

    🙁

Wor B @171, that recipe is doomed to failure.

Your dislike of FB is understandable and many of its comments cannot be justified.

But, by the same token, anyone who’s quick to criticise others for posting political comments, should not be a hypocrite by doing so themselves!

More than happy to see AG only get 20 minutes for England, not much chance to really shine and that pitch and conditions were a recipe for an injury. So the less time the better imo. He’ll get plenty more games.
