Peter Silverstone Identifies The Next Step To Increase Newcastle’s Commercial Revenue

Peter Silverstone, head of the Commercial deals at the club, told the Fan Advisory Board at the end of last month the top priority for Newcastle is now to do a deal with a training kit partner.

In the past, the partner who had the names of the shirts (like SELA has now at Newcastle) did the deal for training too, but the top clubs these days are separating the partners for the jersey worn during games from the players’ training kit.

That adds up to more commercial revenue for the clubs.

This is what  Peter Silverstone said in a meeting with the club’s fan advisory board last month:

“Securing a training kit partner is a top priority for commercial partnerships,”

“If we can attract global partners, they can help us to activate and attract new fans in previously unreached markets.”

“Adidas, for example, is committing to supporting our growth globally and from a brand perspective, it will be a watershed moment for the club.”

“Ultimately, that relationship, like all kit partnerships, relies on fans buying products locally and internationally.”

Silverstone has been the top executive at Newcastle driving up the club’s commercial revenues to hopefully be in line with the top six clubs in England asap.

We did almost nothing to increase commercial revenues under the previous owner, so we are starting with a low commercial revenue number.

But our total revenues in the last financial year – through June 30th of last year – were £250M – an almost 40% increase over the previous year of about £180M.

Commercial revenues increased from £28M to £46M – a 64% increase in the same period.

So we are getting there and the more revenue we earn the more we can spend on players according to the PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules).

What do you think?

The troll certainly is the biggest single reason for the demise of the blog but make no mistake you fukas arguing on non stop and chucking your pathetic, repetive insults around are 100% driving the final nail into the coffin. None of you have any respect whatsoever for the blog, other posters or Dr Ed so don’t bother trying to say otherwise. Nobody believes you!
Fenham…You should calm down a bit and stop making most of your first posts having a go at people you don’t like, the petty, childish insults are not a good look.
Munster, likewise for you and add to that the sly little digs you do and hope the rest of us don’t notice them.
Lesh, you do nowt but insert yourself into anyone else’s conversation as long as its someone slagging off Fenham or anyone else you don’t like.

Lastly why anyone would want to use someone serving there country as a stick to beat them with baffles me.
I am proud to have served for 12 years and some things I don’t even talk to family or friends about. Unless you’ve lost friends in service of their country or lost limbs, seen families huddled together having been burned alive, seen women and girls hung by the feet from a tree then killed after being raped then I suggest you keep your fukn mouth shut. There are plenty of ex forces on here, have a bit of respect ffs or at least a bit of consideration for what some on here have gone through.
As you can probably guess this is my last post, nor will I be reading on here again, there’s just too much bile to scroll thru now. It would be easy, really easy for you all to ignore each other but no, you’d all rather finish off this once great blog. Well done!!
Don’t bother replying as I won’t see it. Don’t bother replying to deny your roles in helping to kill off the blog because everyone else sees and knows what you’re doing.
Good luck to Ed and the decent bloggers on here and of course to the mighty NUFC.

    Javeas post was spot on.
Bloggers discuss matters respectfully. Can still argue and disagree but insults not necessary. The language being deployed last night was off the charts. Yes I have often used that word when really wound up, but only when I know my audience. We are all on here to the end for Ed’s sake, but the behaviours are achieving the polar opposite.
On the footy. West Ham pose a significant threat. They will aim to hit us on the break, and I fear for us if both Paqueta and Antonio are playing. Literally anything could happen on Saturday.

    Onmeedsun

Hopefully the international lads will be buoyed on by their call ups and take the game to West Ham.

We’re only 1 point of 7th with a game in hand if we win and only 4 points off 6th. There’s still so much to play for.

Cheers martoon abit of good news.might see a front 3 of Barnes isak Gordon come Saturday.i would play Barnes from the start (if fit enough)for these last 10games give him a chance to build some bound partnership with the players to get a head start for next year he hasn’t had a chance so far with injuries.plus I can see miggy being sold in summer they tried in January to sell him so he’s clearly not in there plans going forward so would make sense to give Barnes these run of games to try form some sort of partnerships up front.

The Pep wanting Bruno at Man City rumours won’t go away.

Personally, I don’t see why any player would want to move to Man City at the moment.

Surely it’s more sensible to wait until their punishment is decided, or else you could only have 1 season there before they get demoted a leage or 2.

Bruno came off but am not hearing he was injured.

JT, I’m afraid each time I tried to stop the rows the offer was firmly rejected but don’t doubt for a minute that they weren’t made or that they weren’t genuine.

In fact, I even said to the noisiest one, only last week that I wud buy him a pint in Ireland.

The response was an attack, the offer was pointless. I’ll leave it there.

    Good luck to you.

Beginning to wonder whats the point in keeping Bruno if we are likely to sell him next season anyway ? Are we postponing the inevitable:(

The only thing is that Madrid don’t need him ( yet ) and Barca probably can’t afford him.

That leaves City. As Adam said. Surely its a risk going there

Make no mistake this has been a damaging season if we don’t get 7th

Just been on a well known ticket site. Bit of research.
They offer West Ham tickets for Saturday starting at 160 pounds.
Everton on Tuesday start at 70 pounds. Then Spurs game it’s back to starting at 150.
Interesting how cheap, relatively, the Everton tickets are. Supply and demand I suppose. Tuesday night perhaps not so popular. A sign perhaps that folks do pick and choose even now.

Question I would like to put out there. How do these groups get hold of tickets to sell on and how can they even do it.
I have a ST. If I cannot get I can give it back to the club or transfer it to friends or family registered with the club on my account.
    I cannot sell it.

So, who are selling tickets and how is it possible.

One of the irrelevant news sites reckons that Pep is doing his nut to get Bruno to City for £85m.

Rather ignoring his £100m release clause. Must be a City fan writing the gossip in the same way that Mantown fans write for the BBC.

How about writing that Man City will be closed down when the alleged 115 breaches of FFP are revealed. At which point the history books on titles

    For obvious reasons.
The troll is easy to deal with but when posters you admire and respect get involved in schoolyard stuff , it becomes hard to continue reading the blog.
Hopefully, due to JT’s magnificent post , the perpetrators will take heed and focus on what they are good at, writing informative posts , given valid options and just having the craic about NUFC.
Then Eds blog will return to bring the best NUFC blog on the planet. We live in hope
