I was delighted when Phillips came on. The lad is a car crash. He is a lazy player. I don’t know what he was doing, taking a touch in the the penalty area like that. It was terrible.
    I have never rated him.

Harvey Barnes was the player I wanted most, so was when we signed him I was very pleased. Disappointed when he got injured but knew he would come back stronger, reading through the comments after the match, I’m amazed that there’s posters who could criticise him! How on earth do you not see what I see, a great footballer, strong, team player, and a fantastic goal scorer. The comments during the match about him, from some just shows how little you know.
Well done EH after having to re shuffle the defence, having the intelligence to change it again. Well done Lewis Hall, EH showing again how to bring young players on, he did say all young players mature differently.
He knows what he’s talking about.
Hope we have Trippier back, and we’ve got Elliott Anderson playing well when he came on.
Pity we couldn’t have Pope back.

    HB not worth £40M???
I suppose AG isn’t either. The pair of them are gold. Wide men that’ll get you 10/12 goals a season, crucial goals as well. If HB and Tonali had of been with us all season, Spurs and Villa would have been chasing us.

Still buzzing after one of the most memorable games this year, in our history maybe, given the enormity of the comeback.

Now that the dust is settling, here is how the C graded each player:

    https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-player-ratings-west-ham-28912879

    Largely agree only:

I’d take a point off Tino, he didn’t have a good game.

I’d add a point to Burn.

Gordon, Isak, Bruno, Barnes a 9.

So according to FPL AG is back for CP, he’s only got to avoid a booking in that one and his yellows reset.

Delaying the game, a yellow. If Bowen hadn’t told the ref, he’d have stayed on 🙂

Keys and Andy were quite critical of the referee, I thought he handled a hard game well.

They said both penalties were soft, sure. But they were penalties. I disagree about inadvertently kicking a player as you’re readying to kick the ball away, but that is the rule.

As for West ham playing their kick quickly, unsportsmanlike but legit. Tino, and others, should have been more alert.

    cyprus,
A bit of give and take, the ref allowed a FK while Schar was still down (potentially) injured, it was hardly an act of petulance. Slowing the game down, three foo#in minutes to decide a pen???

There should be a time limit to decide something with var, agree. But, then again, they want to make sure.

That was a touch and go pen, so I get it. Gordon barely put his foot down how was Philips to know? But it’s been given against us before, think it was either Schar or Burn, can’t recall the match.

Btw, Keys and Andy said the Burn on Kudus shove was a stone wall pen and a red. I disagree. Burn is a big unit, that was shoulder to shoulder. But if I were a west ham fan I’d probably feel aggrieved.

    Last one!

I think Tino is way more effective on the right, though he did play there too when they were switching places and the system, as players were getting injured.

In fact, we could’ve easily been “excused” for dropping heads, even giving up, as the game was going.

Two sucker punches 46th and 47th minutes, end of first half, beginning of second.

Lots of players getting injured. Krafth and Miggy coming on, then off.

System needing reshuffling again and again.

But we stayed aggressive, a high and risky line. Which translates to dominance and chances – and a vulnerable defensive line. Hence the punches and counter punches.

    What a game!

The finger definitely flicked Schars ear and that combined with Schars head and an intake of air was enough for Schar to suffer a serious head injury. He should have stopped the game because they scored

Moyes lost the game. Bringing Phillips on was a disaster for them. He did nothing right.
Much worse than playing with 10 men because team mates play expecting you to do the basics right. His defending for Barnes great winner was abject. Too many Mars Bars.
Great credit to us for keeping going

Changing the whole defence after Lascelles injury nearly cost us the game. Eddie got it right at the death. Move Dan to CH and put the best left back at the club at left back and keep the best right back at right back

    Happy Easter all,

What a fight back from the lads, they showed the fight and desire needed. Gordon is like a thorn in any side we play, he has that ability to frighten the life out of the opponent. At £45m he was an absolute steal.

£40m for Barnes is looking like cracking business also. The 2 goals he scored were top draw, the second was sheer class the way he rolled KP to open up and swerve it just inside the far post. That was a magic moment as I really thought we were dead and buried at 1-3 down – When your side can come back from defeat it shows a fight and hunger which is needed to succeed. West Ham are a very decent side but we had twice as many shots on goal and more than double as many on target.

Krafth was pretty poor yesterday. he lost players a couple of times letting them get the run on him. I’ve said this before he is better with the ball (going forward) than he is defending.

    He needs replacing for sure.

If Barnes and Gordon were around £40m each that’s where the future lies. Emerging talent that’s got ambition and potential
A few more of the same and we have a team for the future.
How much is Osana valued at ?

What a pity Gordon is now bloody banned to play against his old team Everton on Tuesday. That second booking was as soft a booking as you will ever see. It wasn’t as if he booted the ball away petulantly, he rolled it away which was hardly time wasting for gods sake.

I’d start Anderson on the left wing and play Barnes on the right as he has played on the right side for Leicester many times and is just as lethal from the right. Anderson is good from the left side also.

Will the injuries ever bloody stop. We now have Lascelles, Tino, and Miggy all injured now and probably not available for Tuesday. At this rate Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall will need to get their boots back out of retirement. It’s crazy…. I’ve got a feeling we shall see young Alfie Harrison brought onto the bench as I’ve heard he is already training with the first team and has looked very good. Will be interesting as to how Eddie sets us up against Everton now. Does he finally start Hall at LB and move BDB (who had a cracking game yesterday and didn’t put a foot wrong) into CB?

Hall can even play LW if really needed and move Anderson (who also done brilliantly when he came on yesterday) into the middle to start? Eddie will know his best possible starting 11 for who is fit enough to face Everton but that game really was lined up for a Gordon super show against his former club (such a shame).

    Loch,

Onana is valued at around €50m euros which is approximately £42m sterling. Around the same price as Gordon mate:

    https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amadou-onana/marktwertverlauf/spieler/485706

I’d 100% take him for £45m, he is an absolute beast and exactly what NUFC need in the engine room.

Read all in game comments for first time after I got back, don’t really know what I can say. As much as I skip past the troll, can’t believe some of the others, so many more have to skip past now

At half time I said to the guy next to me on my right, think we need to do what we did against city, 3 centre half’s and 2 up front. Maybe Eddie heard me. He (guy on my right) left with about 25 mins to go, oh how gutted will he be!! Also said to person on my left at 3-3 still 10 mins, we can get a 4th, he just laughed at me

Let’s just hope we pull off the Hall signing, he looks so good. From now on let’s play burn in his proper position left centre back. He was great yesterday, stood his ground and worked so well. Just hope tino is straight back

Only down side was Gordon being stupid and kicking ball away when already on a yellow, but with how good he has been and layer of the season think can forgive him that one.

Last comment. If we get a 5th champions league spot, will 6th and 7th be Europa and now 8th conference? Still think we will just knock europa in 6th mind

    Jimley,

Rather than saying NUFC done fantastically well to come back from absolutely nowhere to win the game, one of the all time best comebacks you say it’s all down to Noyes bringing on KP. Just stop it Eddie played a blinder with his tactics to win us the game. The lads are clearly fighting tooth and nail for their boss.

We looked very good for huge chunks of the game yesterday, even with all the injuries it didn’t dis balance us, Eddie played the tactics just right and when we scored the 4th he was celebrating as much as any of us. At the end of the game he done a Klopp fist pump the air towards the Gallowgate and the whole end cheered him. We have his back and that’s what’s important. I wouldn’t put it down to Moyes brining on KP as the catalyst to our amazing team performance and win yesterday, we win because of so many other positives, but you don’t see the positives. Why?

Not sure how it’ll pan out, we can’t keep conceding 3+ goals and expect a consistent run of form. 9 times in his 20 games we’ve conceded 3+ it happened once in Pope’s 20 games.

Was going to put up Joy Division, in honour of Barnes. “Barnes will tear you apart, again”. But I think this sums up the match better.

    https://youtu.be/yEJEO0mvxSI?feature=shared

Difficult to follow in the pub and absolute madness, but good to see the energy and enthusiasm to get back into the game. From what was a disappointing and not entirely undeserving position.

Hopefully a win to build on and potentially the same team that finished, starts the next match. But who replaces Gordon, Murphy will need to play on the wing and Krafth at RB. I know the change in the back line completely threw the defence but overall for that first hour, they didn’t look like they had done much training whilst away.

The amount of times HB has been called a waste of money, how bloody short sighted, he got a freak injury and hasn’t been able to play, that had a lot to do with his lack of goals and assists. I thought that would be obvious.
