Newcastle Team Announced For Everton Test – Anderson, Krafth, Hall And Barnes Start

Eddie Howe has just announced the Newcastle team to play at St. James’ Park tonight against Everton – it’s a game we should win – but you never know with Newcastle.

Krafth starts at right-back, with Livramento and Trippier out, and it’s good to see Lewis Hall get a start at left-back after his excellent play against West Ham.

Hero Harvey Barnes starts up front – as expected – and let’s hope he can score more goals for us tonight.

Almost 75% of our readers think we will win this game – so if we don’t get all 3 points it will be a huge disappointment.

    Charlie,
Yes the way the game was going in the end reminded me momentarily of the Liverpool game. I thought surely not again?

That was a game we dominated too. I felt robbed, but kudos to that Darwin fella, his evolution started there.

We’re a compassionate sort of team. When a team or a player needs a boost we’re there to help.

    Darwin, DCL, next!

Chris Wood sits in tenth place in the standings with 11 goals. He is not crap. The shirt was unfortunately too big for him here. Imo.

    Good Morning Raj,

On Alex Murphy and international caps for Ireland under age teams!! Alex is only 19, he made his debut for Ireland under 18s in 2021 with 4 appearances,
He has made 9 appearances for Ireland under 19s, and he made his debut for Ireland under 21s on the 14th of March 2024 which explains his lack of caps for the under 21s mate.

Last one, just to impress your friends.

If you use the word “kudos” you’re using ancient greek, meaning glory.

Beware: If you serve up this word on your next visit to Greece or Cyprus you’ll get a blank look. The word fell into disuse more than a thousand years ago. That’s like before we won a cup.

Well disappointed but given we had no game- changers to call on (Willock still not up to his best levels) got worried as we tired

Dummer was suckered into making the foul by Young who knew exactly what he was after

So 3 points at Fulham then (crossed fingers emoji)

7 out of 9 mightn’t seem so bad but we have to stop giving away stupid goals

    Raj
    Point taken.
Putting Dummett in the stocks on the village green probably not the best example of management.
Not helped by the fact that we continue to gift Everton points,as Max did giving the ball away when they broke up the pitch to score in a previous game where they got the points that probably kept them up.

I suspect that Liverpool will destroy them in their derby. We’re no where near at that level, injuries apart.

PIF are going to have to invest heavily in the squad for next season without selling the crown jewels. Sales may have to come from a number of players so Longstaff, Dummett and a few others could be offload for the greater good. Youngsters will take their place to fill up the squad. We need at least 15 top players, we have say 8 at the moment. Perhaps Adidas can pay their 5 year deal money up front, that might help.

Dummet being gutted isnt going to give us them 2 points back is it. From a so called veteran that challenge was inexcusable and a disgrace which could cost us a place in Europe next season. Ofcourse if we make Europe it will be forgotten about and we can say farewell to him end of season. But unforgivable if not as we need Europe for our growth. Every million pound counts

Bruno gives us so much that if we lose him im not sure we will replace with better player. Bruno really stands out in our midfield. Rather sell longstaff as bruno could play his position. Hope we extended krafth so we could get transfer fee for him in summer. But he needs selling

I do find people funny who feel like they have all the answers and become experts after the event. It’s the same names over and over.

Howe should have done this or done that. Howe got this wrong and that wrong… then come out with what he should of done etc and if he’d of done that he’d of won the game… 🙄

The football world is surely missing out on exciting additions to the game with these armchair fans who seemingly have all the answers.

Eddie Howe on our ridiculous injury list:

“I always think there’s no such thing as bad luck. I think you create your own luck. We play a really high-intensity style and a real physical game. Naturally, if we didn’t play that style and played a different way, the physical cost on our players would be less.

But when you look at some of the injuries we’ve had this year, and we’ve analysed and re-analysed them, then for a lot of them, you can’t put them into any category other than bad luck, even though I don’t really believe in it.

I could go through injuries and it has been a really strange one. Even on Saturday, that has been the case with some of the injuries we’ve got.

I know some of the players have been away on international duty, and that puts an extra load on them, and I think you could see with West Ham, some of their players were going down as well. The speed of the game is definitely getting quicker, week on week.”

We played high intensity last season but didnt get many injuries. So why this season. Its Newcastle curse we have always had some sort of curse i.e cant win in london etc.

I dont use injury as an excuse. We have always had a decent 11 start every game so had enough to get results.

1 factor a lot of players reached their ceiling last season and performed to their max. For example Almiron i doubt he will beat the goal tally from last season ever.

So its time to upgrade those type of players now

I’d love to see us go for Gibbs White in the summer.

Everything Forest do well, he’s at the heart of. Even when everyone is fit, we just have runners. Joelinton, longstaff, Willock, Anderson, Miley. The jury is still out on Tonali and Bruno is obviously class but he’s best in a deeper role. We have no player with real guile and I think MGW would absolutely transform us.

He offers something completely different to what we currently have.

Also I’ve seen quite a bit of Dewesbury Hall this season and he’s looked amazing. I know it’s the championship but he looks the real deal now. Just under 6ft, defends, attacks, scores, creates. He’d be brilliant alongside Bruno.

    Harvey

Both are decent shouts but it comes down to fees – PL (or even Championship) usually cost more

Injuries will have impacted our plans and although we’ve done well in English players I suspect we will buy some from abroad possibly South America for better value – but probably riskier?

Lot will depend on what budget is, with increasing revenue but also what form PSR takes next season

    Fair enough Hibbitt
    And Hammers will not buy.
We were short in midfield and wanted cover but the guy is a total liability. One good season at Leeds but has gone backwards at a rate of knots. Pep pays 40 million and knew pronto he had messed up. Never played him.
