Iโ€™ve never looked but do you know what stars you could have had over the years if they choose Irish nationality?

    Could you name an 11?

I reckon Murphy could step up no problem, he has been training with the 1st team and if he is good enough for the bench then he should be good enough for the 1st team.

When Big Jack was manager you qualified to play for the ROI if you had ever drank a pint of Guinness.

The key to Jack Charlton’s success was hiring a team to trace the ancestry of all the footballers possibly eligible to play for the RoI, it worked a treat.

    On young players.
Won’t be able to perform at required level week in week out.
    Too much.
Sign of a well run club though is when you can bring them in and they have 2 or 3 games at the higher level and do well.
Or come on for 30 mins and do well.

Looks like that would be a big help this coming Saturday.

Yes Paul Gascoigne Callum Wilson, Jimmy Greaves, Steve Bruce, Tim Cahill, Martin Keown, Darren Fletcher, Rio Ferdinand, James Maddison, were all eligible to play for Ireland mate. You can add to that Declan Rice and Jack Grealish who both played full international friendly matched for Ireland.

EGB. On Picks, yes he is a good keeper, his shot stopping ability is up there with the best and his distribution of the ball is probably one of the best in the league. ( I just threw up in my mouth )
The question is though, if Newcastle went in for him could he be converted into a black and white. Tough one.

There’s not a chance in Hell that Pickford would a) want to come here and b) the fans would take to him. It would be like Gazza going to Celtic ๐Ÿ˜€

As you`re own Grandfather was Irish, you will be well aware you would have qualified to play for the Emerald Isle lad. You could have been that little midfield maestro in the mould of Jonny Giles or Liam Brady pulling the strings in midfield on the hallowed turf of the Aviva stadium!! And Munster Mag frantically running onto the pitch to get you`re autograph at the end ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

There’s too much water under the bridge with Pickford. This rivalry was started by Pickford when he began mouthing off when he left Sunderland after they were relegated. He was linked with us and he went public saying how he would never play for us. There was no chance of us signing him anyway as we would never have stumped up ยฃ30m to sign him.
He is a complete knob. He was playing to the makem gallery. If he said nowt and moved on, there would not have been any grief.
He has had plenty to say since his move and has also caused bother in boozers when at home. Of course he plays the victim card. He is an odious man.

Just seen your post about Jack Charlton, used to talk to him in players lounge after games. He tried to use me to get Gavin playing for Ireland. Always said wrong side of family, Gavin on mams side and all Irish on my dadโ€™s side. Then said I can play of course, he would pat me on head and buy me a pint

Mind he got cascarino in somehow with not a drop of Irish blood in his body. Never forget night before Sunderland play off match against gillingham when they got relegated to old 3rd division. Keith was the gills manager and at my house for meal with all his family night before. Mentioned player he signed for 10 tracksuits and sheet of iron after his brother in law Pete had played against him and told him to look at him. That was Cascarino

Onana – didnโ€™t think much of him on last nights performance – got skinned few times resorted to fouling should have been booked first half hour.
After Gordonโ€™s sending off how the f*ck did they get away with mic kicking the ball away last night especially Dwight Neil who hoofed the ball into row Z

Stop with the in Eddie we trust bollox
A lot of the time he’s bloody clueless he’s not that good
Totally sucked in by a very lucky 4th and you want a statue built
Loads of managers would of had us relegated and liads would of surpassed howe with the new owners
Where you get howe is a good manager is mind-boggling
He’s lost us loads of games this season with his team selections and zero plan b when it’s went pear shaped
Even the cup final he ballsed it up by playing an out of form unfit Wilson when isak should of started
He’s on a par now with Bruce for his ridiculous excuses like the one last night where he said if Everton hadn’t of got the penalty we would of won 1-0 DOH
    EDDIE HOWE OUT

On reflection that pen against Dummett was a soft one. Tussles like that are common in every game and most of the time the ref lets them go.

That one could just as easily have been given as a foul the other way.

Tough on us in that instance!

Was gonna say this earlier re penna.
    It was a tussle.
Everton player was holding Dummet and Dummet holding the other way.
Unfortunately the Everton players hold was not so obvious. On Dummets arm.
Dummets hold was on his shoulder and started to look like a bit of a boddy slam.
In Dummets defence all I can say is this. When you feel that contact, what you do is a reaction rather than any thought out intent.
Only thing is you have to train your mind and body to react the right way.
For the attacker it’s a shot to nothing. Worse case senario its a free kick. For the defender oh so different.
Not having played and then coming on probs a factor.

    Our offside goal last night
Was it Isaak offside – only seen it once
I thought he was onside just – as I thought arms did not come into play – his body and feet were behind their last player whoโ€™s white boot looked like it was playing him onside – or did they seem Burn offside as he was offside when the kick was taken???
