This Player Would Be A Bargain Buy For Newcastle

There was some excellent news yesterday with reports that Newcastle look set to sign 6ft 5ins Fulham center-back Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer.

The center-back fits all of Newcastle’s requirements, he is quick and a ball-playing center-back who is excellent in the air.

Eddie Howe is keen to sign the right-footed defender – he will fit in at Newcastle very quickly.

And of course, we do have two of our center-backs Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles out with serious ACL injuries, and they will not be back before the end of the year.

The reports say he wants to join Newcastle and has been offered a wage of £100K/week – £5M per year. It’s still a good deal for Newcastle over a 5-year contract.

He has played 129 games for Fulham with 5 goals and 2 assists since joining them permanently from his hometown club Manchester City back in 2020: Tosin is of Nigerian descent.

Wikipedia reports this is his style of play:

Adarabioyo is an athletic ball-playing centre-back who was previously described as being “fast, strong in the air with the quality to look forward behind the line for the next pass” by his former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Standing at 6 ft 5 in, his height and physical presence have seen him emerge as a dominant defender who is adept at winning aerial duals and effecting headed clearances, while simultaneously posing as a goal threat from set-pieces in the opposition box.

He has earned recognition as a player who is strong in the tackle and capable with the ball at his feet, suitable to a possession-based style of play, and boasts good positional awareness and reading of the game in defensive situations.

Let’s hope we can sign this lad up – he would be an excellent acquisition for the club and will likely improve under the guidance of Eddie Howe.

Hope we manage to get him signed up.

As a free transfer this would be an exceptional deal.

Tosin looks the right fit and he wants to be here to become part of next seasons onwards and upwards team.
It’s clear on many fronts ( replacing Ashcroft, SJP future plans, Adidas back, revenues up, FFP, Bruno and Isak going nowhere) that we will have a full on assault on Top4 , the title and cups.
This is the dawning of the new era.
