Eddie Howe has just announced the Newcastle team to take on Burnley away – which is an important game and one we should be winning if Newcastle are to have European Football next season.

Here’s the Newcastle team Eddie Howe has put out – and hopefully we can get the win today.

Over 70% of our readers think we can win this game but we expect it to be a hard slog at Burney – so to speak.

    That cannot be a 4-3-3.

Both Wilson and Isak on the pitch. Oof!

Fully expecting Burnley to dominate possession — they can play football alright — but Gordon’s intelligence and the firepower should, I’d hope, be enough.

Murphy mist be in the middle because neither he nor hall or Liveramento can play in a back 3, so he has to be in middle because we all know how the front 3 is lining up today with Wilson in..

Thats a peculiar one, ive never seen him play in Central midfield. Maybe Howe sees something in him that suits the position. Or heck maybe he is being put in at cb in a back 3 for the same reason..either way its interesting.

    I’m thinking attacking 4-2-3-1

It is a 433, isak, wilson Gordon. With Murphy in middle. It must be. Or else its a back 3 without the ball with Murphy at cb which hes hardly doing is he? Be interesting to actually see what it is

But munster im pretty sure it cant be 442 because were playing with wingbacks, dont think you play 442 with wingbacks, could be wrong tho

Yeah, 4231 or 442 makes sense with Murphy on the right and Gordon on the left. Isak behind wilson

Munster I looked at the line up and think you’re right could be a 4-4-2.
Could also be a 4-2-3-1 with that personnel.
    Will wait to find out.
Lost Eddie bingo but in the best way possible still trying to work out the formation

Be a shame if Isak is out wide just to accommodate Wilson. He has been in incredible form in the middle so don’t know if it’s wise to change that. Hope he’s not out wide, but of course if he is then I hope he still influences the game as much as he does in the middle.

Eddie will probably have us 4-3-3 still but with Murph playing inside right I’d imagine. Give him 60 minutes then bring on Elliot and big Joe. I’m in 2 minds about bringing players back from injury on the bench. Better to start them no? Then if they need a rest earlier bring on replacements. If they come off the bench and break down then potentially we’re down to 10 men for the remainder.

Official site really slow today in putting up the team.!

I di9d wonder if Eddie might play a front three of Isak, Wilson and Gordon but a tad surprised to see Anderson dropped to the bench.

    Random things:

This Rice guy is very good. Arsenal deserved win but a bit “fortunate” — ok, a lot, paid for 😉 –with VAR.

Ipswich, congratulations! Back to back, wow.
