This Player Can Be A Stellar Signing For Newcastle

There was some great news yesterday: Newcastle have agreed in principle to sign 25-year-old Bournemouth player Lloyd Kelly as a free agent.

Newcastle had been interested in Kelly for a while and it’s good news as Eddie Howe knows all about the player’s capabilities, having signed him and coached him at Bournemouth.

The left-footed player can play in central defense and left back and it’s the defense we need to strengthen for the coming season.

He’s versatile and he can play either left-sided or right-sided central defense.

The 6ft 3ins tall
Kelly has also played the last two seasons in the Premier League so he should fit straight into Eddie Howe’s way of playing.

Eddie Howe also pushed for the deal and with so many FFP/PSR restrictions this is an excellent signing for Newcastle.

The Bristol-born player has played 139 games for Bournemouth with 3 goals and 8 assists.

With Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman being out with ACL knee injuries until the end of the year Newcastle seem to know exactly what they are doing.

And we have also been linked with 26-year-old Fulham center-back Tosin Adarabioyo, another free agent this summer.

We also expect players to leave this summer to allow room in the 25-man Premier League squad for next season.

If he stays fit then he can be a very good signing, it’s that simple.

Justine Lorriman, rebranded her pub in Burnley as The Royal Dyche after ex-manager Sean Dyche had led the Clarets to European football.

Shearers bar at SJP is to be rebranded on Saturday.

    Jail,

Fingers crossed that Lloyd Kelly stays fit. If we do bring him in Eddie and the club know what they’re doing and will be well aware of his injury history. We just have to wait and see…

I see Eddie Howe has not been nominated for manager of the season. If we finish 6th with the injuries we’ve had, how the hell has he not even been nominated??

Check , not sure you were having a pop at me, don’t think so. Just to clarify ( and it may surprise a few ) , I’m not a neggar about nufc etc. However if I think , in my opinion , that some person or purchase or tactic or whatever can be criticised then I will say it. Obviously some guys lose their shiit about what I say, and the beautiful red flag draws their attention and they immediately disagree. I don’t mind, and I’m happy to learn from others and chew the fat. I’m delighted with Kelly, but I’m not going to repeat the thoughts of others on it as they match mine. I’ve been calling for his signing for months, so yes I’m a fan.

    BLOG MEET NEWS!

Guys, I have managed to secure the attendance of a minor NUFC celebrity fan and very good friend of mine for over 50 years.

Derek (not my brother Derrick) is a true Toon fanatic and was heavily involved in the Supporters for Change Group + his sister in law dated NUFC legend Jimmy Smith for many years.

The reason for asking him along is that he is now involved in a new NUFC fan venture which I think will be of real interest to the blog members attending.

Derek will be at Shearers from 1pm and I won’t give any more away – other than to say if you have an questions on NUFC history (or ANY subject – he has won over £20K on TV quiz’s) – and you want to go to the next level in supporting NUFC… don’t miss him 🙂

Eddie with 49 wins from his … Despite starting off with a far more inferior squad!
And yet some want(ed) him gone.
    Crazy.

I’ve just watched a podcast by Pete Graves, with that numpty Dharmesh Sheth and the football finance analyst Kieran Maguire on the latest PSR changes and possible impact on the summer transfer window.
Most of it was just a rehash of previous points raised in other shows.
However, one interesting bit was the mention of the Manchester clubs (who voted no to the rule changes) now talking about launching legal challenges against anchoring, if that goes ahead.
Surely if this has been voted in by the majority of EPL clubs though, then that’s not possible?
(That majority rules we’re legally binding as the EPL was a private members club only)
Otherwise, what’s to stop us (or any other club) mounting a legal challenge against PSR rules entirely?

Sorry to disagree with many here on the blog, (and I think this has been done to death), so sorry about that an’ all, but can we really afford “Fingers Crossed” players next season? I (just my opinion) think we need guaranteed starters so that we can consolidate a position in the top 4/6. Not saying that Kelly isn’t a talent, just saying he may not be a reliable enough starter for what we need.

Tannerabag – you have a fair point. Think the club just see Hall and Kelly covering/competing foe left back next year. Which is two proper left backs, rather than Targett and Burn this season.

No comparison between the pair. Proper upgrade. Although still not 100% convinced by Hall, think Kelly will definitely be first choice if he does stay fit. Hall looks the pretty bomb proof so will always be available. So no stress next season regards availability.

You are assuming he is to be first choice LB?

Kelly has been brought in to beef up the squad and challenge for a first team place. Hall will be long term LB but Kelly also brings stronger squad depth and options which we are very short on.

A very astute signing and on a free. No brainer
