Eddie Howe Announces Newcastle Team For Brighton – Wilson Out

Eddie Howe has just announced the Newcastle team to play our final home game against Brighton this afternoon.

There were rumors Callum Wilson may not make the game and he is not in the squad; we have to assume he is injured.

Update on Wilson.

This is what Eddie Howe said after the team was announced:

“Callum’s just not feeling 100% today. A little of tightness, it’s not an injury as such.”

Here’s where we are in the league with just 3 games to play.

Premier League Table 2023-2024

PositionTeamPlayedWonLostDrawnGDPoints
5Tottenham38201261366

7Newcastle38181462360
8Man United3818146-160
9West Ham38141310-1452

Over 85% of readers think we can win this game so anything but 3 points will be disappointing.

A win would be terrific and keep us within reach of a European place for next season.

Don’t worry about that, me and Adamn_92 have enjoyed each other’s company but still pull each other’s pig tails now and then 😀

I was at the match yesterday, but straight in and oot of Toon, unfortunately I didn’t have time for the blog meet due to other commitments. 🙁

Great that it was a success, respect to you all, hopefully I’ll make the next one.

Please keep disagreeing on here folks, but keep it respectful, and if there’s any banter, rely in kind or just take it on the chin and laugh it off.

If Isak really was unwell then surely he shouldn’t have been playing from the start?
We had options to be able to change things around and put Gordon up front

Yes it was a great day meeting everyone, wish I had got to speak to Billson, but got whisked away by Lochinvar, to watch the match in the East Stand, which was great.
The only one I would have recognised was Onmeedson, with his white hair and he had is name on the back of his shirt, mind your very tall.
Talking of tall so is NADJ, what a lovely man.
Lovely to meet my friend NYMAG, at last, hope we meet again.
Mund I can’t believe you didn’t know who I was, my ribs are still hurting from the hug that you and Fenners gave me.
Thank you Fenners for the kind words and champagne.
Magic, I hope you didn’t wipe the lipstick off,
Martoon and his wife, really nice, but I didn’t realise until later that was Peter sitting opposite.
Darnik, sorry to give you such a shock, when I tapped you on the back, and what a lovely beautiful wife, especially when she thought I was the same age as her. That made my day.
Last but not least JAIL the exact opposite of what he is on here, hope to meet up again.
Jail. Who was the man that you came into Shearer with, he shook my hand and told me his blog name, but it was so loud in there I didn’t catch it.?
Eeh! Have I missed anybody, TDS and there was someone who came in with him
Who I didn’t get to meet.

    Jail
    Not really.
If we were down to bare bones then fair enough, but surely with three important games in a week you don’t start him in the first of those games when he has been sick.

Re the banter on here, I can take banter better than the next man, however when posters goad other posters by bringing their mothers, wives and children into play saying some of the most disgusting hurtful things it’s as naughty as you can get on social media IMO. This lowlife needs a severe punishment dished out. I’m sure it will happen someday 😉

    #287 dear me 🙄

So, apparently It was pleasant without me being on here during the match according to IrishNob. Well that’s strange he said that as I avoid being on here like the plague during a match as (a) I’m either at the game. (B) watching it on the TV where I have no time to post as I’m taking in a game of football. And the most important point (c) I couldn’t stand reading the drivel and negativity from munter and IrishNob. Most posters give this blog a swerve during the match and for good reason.

It’s also amazing how a guy can express disappointment about a result player pass miss etc without being called a negger, when some of the arses aren’t around. It was like being in a pub, normal stuff.

Maybe Isak was off colour but told the boss he was ok to play.
Anyways Europe next season lies in our hands
Win both games then no one can overtake us

Watching all home games at St. James and a lot of games on TV I think the three things we have to improve on is….
    I) Ball retention – once we get the ball we have to look after it – too many times we give it straight back to the opposition

II) Transition – from defence to attack to slow to many passes across the back four and to many times short two yard passes to Bruno when he is marked.
Transition has been getting better of late

III) Movement off the ball – This one is my biggest gripe- once a player has passed the ball they stand still or go at walking pace not looking for return or moving into space to receive a pass. Movement across the front line non existing at times. Throw-ins no one makes himself available to take the ball from the thrower or tries to move into space.

Apart from that we are not a bad team

I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye, but it took a while to get the ticket changed over, honestly Lochinvar is just too nice,
So is Jail, who would have thought 😀

    Charlie,

#302 some fair points made there like. Canny insight. I’m sure Eddie will act accordingly on some of the shortfalls. The thing is there will always be shortfalls as nothing is perfect and humans are prone to error. But it’s keeping the errors down to an acceptable level or an absolute minimum. With players coming back, 4/5 too additions I can see NUFC have a right go next season and absolutely anything is possible and I mean anything.

    HWTL!!

You were the opposite mate. Hopefully we can all do it again. Get even more there next time.

You’ve said The Blog will still have its spats when you have me among others posting but what you conveniently fail to mention is that you have been involved in provoking most of ’em – since you first rocked up a couple of years ago.

If you have concluded that most folk are alright, then perhaps you should be so, too, demonstrating social media etiquette, consistently. Try it, you might just see a difference.

    Enjoy your day
