A 1-1 draw was not the result Newcastle wanted yesterday against Brighton, but that’s what happened in the final home game of what has been a tough season for Newcastle.
It was also a bit worrying that Gauimaraes looked so sad and dejected at the end of the game since he wants to play in Europe every season and he has high ambitions.
We hope there’s nothing more in it than that with Bruno, but if Newcastle don’t qualify for Europe next season, which is a possibility, Newcastle must show their ambitions and strengthen the squad this summer, and keep all our good players like Guimaraes and Isak.
Assume Newcastle can beat Manchester United away on Wednesday night and Brentford away in the final game of the season next Sunday afternoon.
In that case, we will finish in 6th place in the league for certain, which would be exemplary given all the injuries we have had this season.

Comment #46The man u game v CP was embarrassing. But unfortunately they looked much better against Arsenal. They were pressing with lots of intensity and closing Arsenal’s defence down to stop them playing out from the back.
That Garnacho needs to be watched closely he is a right live wire but has a lot of Miggy about him (the none scoring Miggy).
Huge game this is on Wednesday against this lot. I’d be absolutely ecstatic if we beat them. A draw may be enough but we must win our 2 final games to ensure we get 6th spot. I hope both Wilson and Isak are both over their bugs as we need them on song and I’d start Joelinton for this one for sure. A MF of Bruno Longstaff and Joelinton can dominate their MF which admittedly were slightly better than Arsenal’s today.

It really is strange to meet people who you engage with on here then see them in person, everyone got on really well as we all have something special in common and it is NUFC. The day would have been perfect if it wasn’t for NUFCs lacklustre performance. Hopefully we have kept a lot in the tank for Wednesday to beat that rabble from Salford.
