Young Budding Newcastle Star Gets New Long Term Contract

Newcastle’s 19-year-old Alex Murphy joined Newcastle United from Galway United in July 2022, almost two years ago and since then has been training with the Newcastle first team.

And news today that Newcastle have given Alex a new long-term contract.

Murphy seems to be the perfect player to be coached by Eddie Howe, since he takes everything in and the U19 Irish International is rapidly improving on Tyneside.

Alex made his Premier League debut last November in the 4-1 win over Chelsea and he made his second appearance in the 5-1 rout of Sheffield United earlier this year.

So he is slowly being introduced into the first team by head coach Eddie Howe.

This is what Eddie Howe has said about the player:

“I’m really pleased to see Alex sign a new long-term contract here.”

“It’s well deserved recognition for the work he’s put in over the course of the season.”

“He had a great pre-season in America and has gone from strength to strength since, earning himself a Premier League debut and a regular place in our matchday squads.”

“We rate Alex highly. He applies himself brilliantly every day and he knows if he continues working hard that further opportunities will come his way.”

And 6ft tall Murphy seemed delighted to be getting a new long-term deal at Newcastle:

“I’ve loved every minute since I first signed nearly two years ago.”

“I’ve been fortunate to work with some brilliant players and coaches – with both the Academy and the first team – and I’m really grateful for the opportunities.”

“It’s an exciting time to be a young player at this club.”

“We can all see there is a pathway from the number of players who have made their first-team debuts this season.”

“I just need to keep working hard and hopefully I can build on the progress I’ve made so far.”

Newcastle will need to keep bringing in top young players to the club like Alex and let Eddie Howe and his team develop them into first-team players who know exactly what’s required of them when wearing the Newcastle jersey.

So far so good for Alex Murphy.

    TPM,
But it’s not dog shit is it, it’s words on a blog and it’s made some dire comments about lot’s of people. It thrives in the tit for tats and you’re just adding to the problem. Just ignore it and it’s speaking in to a vacuum chamber.

I understand it’s hard to ignore, especially if it’s making awful remarks towards you directly.

The example you gave though, it’s the equivalent of picking the dog shit off your shoe and having it fly onto everyone else around you.

It’s your call what you want to do of course, but the only way it’ll ever get bored and clear off is everyone ignores it and doesn’t even speak about it (like i’m doing now).

    TPM,

Morning mate, re the vile creature it has said the worst things possible on here, directed at many of our family members which just goes to show what this weak minded freak is all about, it’s definitely not a man we all know that, it will identify as something very strange just not a man…

I have made a decision yesterday evening (again I know) to not only blank the troll but another 2 posters who I don’t see eye to eye with, me reacting to their antics means I’m just as guilty as them and I don’t want to be known as a disrespectful disrupter on Eds Blog.

So, if we can make a huge effort to ignore the petty insults thrown about and talk about what we all love which is NUFC this blog would be the best there is bar none. We all owe it to Dr Ed, to ensure that the blog goes out as smoothly as possible. We have lost some great posters from here mainly because of the in-house bickering and especially the thing I will now not mention. It makes total sense to ignore – ignore – ignore. It’s got to be the way!

    TPM,
My opinion is that you’re adding to the problem by getting in to daft mud slinging competitions with it. As for ignoring your comments why do you find it acceptable to ask me to ignore yours but you take exception for me asking you to ignore the troll. You probably don’t want to hear it but like the guy on the estate who gave chase at knocky door neighbour, it’s targeting you more because you give long winded insults back, if you could just ignore it, it knows it’s insults are being typed into an echo chamber.

    From the bbc

Right, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe kicked off his news conference with an update on the availability of strikers Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson: “Alex didn’t train yesterday; we will see if he trains today. He wasn’t feeling 100%, I think you could see that. We knew on Friday that he was slightly under the weather.

“We haven’t seen Callum yet, we will see if he is available to train today, if not we will have him for Brentford.”

Isak is a big miss, but I still think even with him and Wilson out we should be ok.

If we go with any combination of Gordon, Murphy, Miggy, Barnes up top, that’s enough creativity, pace and movement to give the likes of Evans and Casemiro no end of problems.

Obviously would prefer Isak to be part of the mix, but if he’s not 100% then not worth risking anything and having him out for a longer period of time.

    Trippier and Wilson.
I think their focus may be the Euros with England.
    If selected.
Once done I think they will be after one last big pay day.
2 year deal despite their age.
Hopefully it will be in Saudi and we can bank a bit of cash.
All round win for all concerned.

I said to a mate when Tripps went over to Saudi for his warm weather rehab I wondered if he might be over to look at what would be on offer to him!
I couldn’t see his Mrs being up for it given the circumstances we got him!

Not well travelled me personally. Never been to Saudi.
Listened little while back to someone who was explaining the heat thing.
Is it regularly 40 degrees etc.

Having said that money talks. Could be a massive pay day. Many have gone already.

Money no object. You get a nice house with air con. Young kids will be well catered for with English schools etc. Get into air conditioned car and go to air conditioned training complex.

    Sounds canny actually.

After all the heartaches this season, cheated at PSG, not hanging on for the last 10 mins v Milan and so missing out on progression in CL and EL, Trippier killing us v Chelsea in the carabao cup Q/F, Dummet playing rugby v Everton, HB not passing to CW v Liverpool etc etc, I am absolutely dreading tomorrow night.

I am sure there is a curse on NUFC. Chelsea have come out of nowhere, will probably beat Brighton and you just know Manu will turn up when they really need to, after being previously awful.

Why does nothing ever go smoothly for us? Of course we’ve had amazing and unforgettable moments this and the last 2 seasons but if only we could just tap into and consistently get that ”winning mentality” when it really, really, really matters.

On a plus side I’m seeing a lot more kids now wearing NUFC tops down this way (Kent). All going the right way at the club but if only lady luck could get us though the home straight now. Not sure I can bear to watch tomorrow night, it’ll be hide behind the sofa time!!!

Yeah to you & me both that doesn’t sound too shabby but they had all that in Madrid & his Mrs was really homesick (allegedly)
As you say the “money no object “ may just sway things for a couple of years!

    Adamn et al

I’ve thought long and hard about whether to respond to your earlier plea that posters don’t respond to some others, thus minimising the number of spats.

That thought is fine, in principle but when one of your targets, Fenham, posts some completely unfounded and unwarranted comments which by implication are pitched at me, how cam you realistically expect me to let them go?

I am not playing the victim by any means, have never been aggressive to others, never been banned from The Blog, used alternative names, posted racist comments but would hope that you and others can see the provocation contained in that earlier post @14.

I would also point out that unlike many, I’ve been.posting on here since the early 2000s without too much criticism, yet suddenly have been branded troublesome.

Adamn, yes I take the point you and others have made, and rest assured, I will try not to rise to obvious snipes and provocation.
