    Chico,
We got away with a few ourselves so I don’t think we should blame VAR for our league position this year. Really tough fixture list to start, group of death in CL, shitty fixtures in cup, bad luck and injuries culminating in a really tough season. We’ve done really well in the face of it all.

    Jail,
All true. But when I mention bad VAR decisions I really only remember one vividly….it happened one night in Paris.

    Chico,
Aye that was shite just as AG against Man U or Hall yesterday, it’s not fit for purpose and even someone like me who wanted it and still defends it to an extent, wants rid of it. They do get more right than wrong, a lot more but I think they should go back to Refs decision except for offside and goal line. It’s just opinion otherwise.

As for the CL I think it was a blessing in disguise that night in Paris, there is absolutely no way we could have coped with another set of fixtures, the only time we looked back to ourselves was when we were back to one game a week.

    @Cyprus

Watched the highlights on match of the day

Bournemouth had a lot of good chances at the end including a massive miss by Solanke in the last minute which would’ve been an equaliser

I’ve seen people state that the conference league is no better than inter toto which simply isn’t true as there wasn’t even a trophy for that, there’s also a gateway to Europa league via it. As for there being little reward in either the Europa or Conf then what can you do about that, you can’t go out of your way to avoid them when you realise you’re not getting fourth and it is just progression. It will be an excellent way for the manager to hone his skills in the two training camps and also give an excellent platform to the likes of Minteh if he stays and Alfie Harrison etc, it also helps us get a top young keeper as back up to Pope if you could promise him the Conference league games, not to mention some absolutely fantastic away venues for the fans. Definitely a shame we couldn’t get the three points required from Brighton and Man U and Cheksea came from nowhere with some bloody lucky results, but it is what it is and we should enjoy it.

Fingers crossed Ed is reporting on European Footie next season. Have no qualms about hoping for a Man City win, the unwashed will be supporting the smaller Manchester club!

Well that was an enjoyable last match! Top performances from the likes of Bruno, Isak, Hall and Joelinton and don’t think anyone had a bad game.

Halls defensive contributions are like chalk and cheese compared to his first showings earlier in the season. Clearly worked hard behind the scenes in training and it’s paying off now. Showing why we were prepared to pay that fee for him and be patient, could be our left back for the next decade, easily.

Slightly concerned by Howe’s comments about Ritchie and Dummett, almost suggesting if we get Europa Conference League, we may have to consider keeping them on for another season.

I really hope not as we need to start being ruthless with the squad we have. There is simply no space for those 2 anymore. Coaching roles, sure. As players? Absolutely not.

“We’re a real united club. I think we’re still moving forward, so there’s a lot to be positive about.

“It was a good performance. It was a difficult start with the VAR moment. That rocked us and got the crowd in the game. We weathered that. Scored some great goals. Gave a goal away and when it goes 3-1 there’s a slight momentum shift.

“Is seventh a success? I think it is. I never judge it by league position. But looking behind that – the amount of goals we’ve scored this year tells you something. The amount we’ve conceded tells you something. The feeling in the group is so strong. There’s a real bond between staff and players.

“When I look back on this season I’ll only have good memories. Some really challenging moments when we had to dig deep but the players never let me down”
Tell that to the clowns that want them replacing with players with a different mentality.

Australia trip, I know it’s for money, but I still find it bizarre. After such an injury hit season, some players going to the Europs and Copa America, seems bizarre to make them play an extra game.

Also weird to see Diallo going, as i’m sure he’s been told his contract won’t be renewed at the end of the season.

So why take him over players like Sanusi and Shahar who signed their first professional contracts the other week?

Really disappointing if Dummet and Ritchie are given new contracts. I’m sure they’re lovely chaps but in that case make them coaches on coaches pay. I get the ”good dressing room vibe” but you don’t pay someone 30-40K a week just to help keep spirits up.

We’ll never catch up with FFP if we keep keeping hold of people who should have been moved on ages ago. No other top 6 team would keep Ritchie and Dummet. We have to be more ruthless. That applies to CW, KT and MA too.
If moving them out helps keep our ”purples” then every little bit helps.

What’s the point of DA getting in Harrison, Minteh, Kuol, A Murphy, Sanusi, Heffernan, Hernes, Shahar etc if not for opportunities like Europa conference, that’s if city don’t let us down on Saturday.

Why have a go for Munster just for the sake of it? I’m sure a lot of people would have let out a collective groan seeing that news. I get you’ve always had issues with anyone voicing different opinions and if we say black you’ll say white just to get off on an argument, but come on, are you really genuinely pleased with that news. If it wasn’t Munster would you have given a different response or probably not bothered at all.
