They were a poor side until the new manager came in but he has totally transformed them, he has done a Howe.
I think they will be pushing for a European place with us next season if the new coach stays put and they somehow manage to hang onto a few of their better players.
Palace beat Villa 5-0 yesterday , and they outplayed us down there.

Sneaking regard for Palace now. They’re playing high tempo football and with some exciting young players giving the opposition teams a hard time.
Passionate fans too who have to suffer from the deluded and opinionated Chelsea, Spurs ,Arsenal rabble around them.

Looked at it as best I can. No slow mo footage from VAR just a still image.
It’s 2 seperate fouls. 1st one outside he does not go down and continues into the box. 2nd contact inside the box.
You simply have to give that in favour of the attacking team.
Then that Clown Dermott Gallagher agrees with VAR on Ref watch.
He’s part of the problem. He should be calling these people out. Instead ever the diplomat supporting the Refs ie his mates.

“ 7th place is a decent league finish which I’m not surprised by in the slightest. We deserve to be there, arguably even higher – and that’s before you consider the injury difficulties we’ve had.
I’ve been saying it for some time, this team is very good – and it’s no surprise to us get a decent league finish even despite some of the challenges we’ve faced. The 4th best goal difference in the league – which is a broad indicator of our quality.
The same people who say I’m overly positive or a ‘happy clapper’, are the same people who thought Europe was gone in March. It’s the same people who were talking about a bottom half finish. It’s also the same people who thought Europe was gone in March 2023 after Liverpool beat Man Utd 7-0 (yes, those people exist).
Spoiler, we comfortably got 4th last season, and 7th this season.

If you look at (and understand) the underlying performance as well as the overall context, often you’ll come up with the most logical and hence accurate opinions. Sometimes they’ll be positive, sometimes they’ll be negative.
But in both of the last two #NUFC seasons, the landscape has largely been very positive when you take into account the full context. It’s the reason I’ve always been fairly optimistic, and in the end, it’s no surprise to me that the outcomes have been pretty positive too.
Bottom line – judge things as they are, not how you want to see them. Emotions run high of course, but often they cloud judgement massively. And this platform is sometimes evidence of that.”

Comment #151Whilst I agree that maybe in footballing terms the Champions League did come too early for us this season and with FFP we have been restricted in our ability to build the squad for it. However, having now played in it we should be in a better financial position than if we had not and the experience has been beneficial all round.

I don’t think it did come too soon, the confidence and ability the team had could have gone further in the CL if not for the injuries and that was pure bad luck. Maybe the UECL or UEL might have made it easier to rest bigger players and gave Howe an easier introduction, so aye, I suppose you could say it came the wrong way round or too early.
