Who Was Newcastle’s Player Of The Season For 2023-2024?

It’s that time of year when we vore who was Newcatsle’s Player of the Season.

The first thing that comes to mind is many of our players were out injured last season so hopefully, we can improve the medical facilities and procedures so that doesn’t happen again in the coming season.

As a look back in time here are some previous players of the season for this blog.

Tough one, hard to pick between Bruno, Gordon, Isak and even Schar for me.

But i’ve given it to Gordon.

Even when he hasn’t got an assist, he’s basically made the goal with good work building up to it, or winning the ball back, winning a penalty etc.

He’s been sensational (off the pitch too) and the rapid improvement from last season deserves top recognition.

Isak and Bruno very very closely behind him though.

Would your vote go to a player not listed?

There are certainly one or two who could possibly get my vote that are not on the list

Haha well he is one that deserves to be up there I think, and you could add others such as Livramento or Lascelles

For those of you on the edge of your seats waiting for the blog prediction winner I’m just waiting for the result of this poll before I can announce it (although I’ve a fair idea of who’ll win the poll). 😀

Not saying he is player of the season but I think a case could be made for Miley, the way hebcame in, at 17, and handled himself and improved over the season.

I’m already looking forward to next season to see how the likes of Miley, Tino, Hall and Anderson come on after another preseason

Just send me the money now.

Tragic thing is, I can’t even remember who I nominated for PotS in martoon’s predictions! 😳

It has to be Anthony Gordon for me.
He scares the pants off defenders as he is always prepared to take them on, unlike Grealish who prefers to pass back when in a promising position ( Southgate take note).

Wor B – I obviously didn’t pay you enough as if you had not beaten me last week in our FPL head to head I think I would have been 3rd in Div 2. Seriously still quite pleased with 5th as at the start of the season I was bottom 🙂

Steve Bruce saying he tried to sign Eze and Olise while he was here, but they both wanted to stay in London. Pinch of salt?

The reason Ezr and Olise didn’t sign , was, they wanted to stay as far away as possible from Steve Bruce

    Anthony Gordon POTS for me.

It’s not just his goals and assists but also the total commitment he has given in every game – he never hides, shirks a tackle or challenge and he’s still making runs with menace and intent in the last minute of a game.

Also, he clearly loves being part of NUFC and his gesture visiting that young Toon fan in a Manchester hospital just shows how much better a character he is than he was painted to be while at Everton.

Hopefully getting into the Euro squad will be his reward for a truly outstanding season.

I’m 99% convinced Gordon will be in the Euro squad. If not, then Southgate has lost his marbles.

    My front 6 for England

    Kane

    Gordon foden palmer

    Bellingham rice

I’d have saka and Rashford off the bench for their pace.

I’d be really tempted to not even bother watching any England games if for some bizarre reason Gordon doesn’t make the squad.

It’d be the biggest joke ever if he was to miss out but someone like Rashford went.

Agree with Harley, im 99% sure Gordon will be at the Euros.

Gordon, Bruno and also Schär have all been fantastic, but I’ll go with Isak.

What a fantastic footballer, and most importantly, finisher.

Back of the net……back of the net……..back of the net.

    Wonderful!

    Genuine superstar.

I really do not see your problem, there is only justifiably the first four who deserve to be on the list anyway and AG is the standout from that list.

Bruno runs him a close second.

    EGB,
Like everything in life, people finding proble.s when there isn’t any. Perfect example is Pope not starting against Man U, we conceded three, stupid not starting him, cost us the game. Hafmd he started and conceded three, it would have been Dubs was playing well, why rush him back.

I definitely think there would have been votes for Livramento and Miley if they had been included.
I’m not particularly fussed, but don’t see the point of the vote if it misses players off who played a big chunk of the season.

Aye we could see a bigger list but we are talking about player of the Season, that is the whole season not just bits where some players did have great games.

Given that he was out injured and failed to show up for some games I wouldn’t even have Isak on the list. Had he played every game and been at his best in all of them then he would have walked it for POTS. He didn’t!

Miley, Hall, Tino will be in my mind for next or future seasons but they didn’t do enough last season. But as you say that is just my opinion.

I agree about Isak, not sure if it was due to playing while slightly injured at times but there were games where he looked totally out of sorts, then others when he was unplayable

Apparently Mainoo is in the England squad.

He had like 3 good games a couple months ago.

    That’s it.

He’s barely done anything, I don’t get it.

Agreed, I thought it was a joke that he was nominated as young player of the season over AG, real big 6 bias!
