Yeah that was madness! Dont get me wrong, he’s clearly talented and he’s had good games. But that’s it, just a few.

Gordon was sensational consistently all season and didn’t even get nominated. Crazy!

Mainoo in the senior England squad just doesn’t add up.

It’s a straight fight for PoTS this season.

    It’s between Bruno and Gordon:

    – Bruno has had a quite remarkable season and been a glowing star in a threadbare depleted squad and MF. He was one booking away from a 2 match ban which would have been a disaster but fair play to the lad. He changed his whole approach and in doing so have become an even better player. He is the jewel in the crown. I huge player for us and he gets everything about what it means to represent NUFC.

    – Gordon had a slow start to his life at NUFC as he was blown away by what was needed in training and during games by Eddie. He then has a great preseason and what a season he has had. He has grown into one of the best wingers in the EPL. He has managed to break into the England set up and for me he will only go one way and that’s to the absolute top as he is a very talented young man with an old wise head in his shoulders. He must be an absolute pleasure to manage and for me he has to just pip Bruno to the PoTS award. He has been an absolute revelation and to think there were so many that thought wor club made a dodgy signing for the amount we paid. lol we took Everton’s eyes out and went back for the sockets. This lad is going to be ultra special, he has that winning mentality about him which is that crucial ingredient you need to go to the very top and he will.

We’re so blessed to have so many players playing for NUFC who are quite simply on another level to what we ever had for so long. Post Sir Bobby Robson, I just really get that feeling that we on the verge of something special something major at our club and how we all deserve it. Maybe not the naysayers we have on here, as they deserve Bruce and Ashley them feckers 😉

For starters I think i’d rather have Gibbs-White or Loftus Cheek over Mainoo.

Hell even Will Hughes I’d pick above Mainoo to be completely honest. He’s not the most gifted player, but his work-rate has been consistent all season. More consistent than Mainoo. Likewise Dewbury-Hall who has had an amazing season for Leicester.

I’ve a hunch that we will see a rejuvenated Barnes next season. Don’t be surprised if we’re talking him up this time next year as PoTS contender. If he gets a run of games as he will as we’re hopefully going to be battling on 4 fronts. He gets 12+ goals next season. He knows where the goal is and he can be crucial to what happens next season. I’ve huge hope in him and believe he was a fantastic signing.

The way the media and the football pundits have bigged up Mainoo has been embarrassing to say the least. That lad has never done enough to get a call up. They have placed him on a pedestal just as they did with Rashford. I see straight through their reasoning behind it. Put it this way, if they’re in a B&W too they don’t get the same amount of adulation.

    The England squad.
Summer tournament football is even more of a young mans game.
Pick the squad on merit and current form. Right up to the minute current form.
    Not loyalty or past achievements.
I’d strongly look at some of the Palace players who have been bang at it these last few weeks.
There will always be one or two players who are right up there just at the present time. Longer term perhaps not. Got to suss out who they are and include them.

    He won’t.

If you watch Lewis Hall during a match there are still a few issues that need to be addressed.
He is good going forward with the ball/attacking. But his defending has issues. if you watch him he has no/limited awareness of where an attacking winger is and leaves a load of space on the wing for a winger to exploit. If you watch Hall he rarely is looking to see what is happening on the wing – but watching the other players elsewhere on the field – he gets drawn in leaving acres of space behind him.

Just watch him next time he is playing.

Southgate is a kiss ass for the FA..

He won’t be flustered as he’s going when the tournament ends..
Hopefully to Man U.. let him help destroy that team..

    Just in my opinion.. obviously..

All things considered not a bad season and if we get in the Conference League it will give the lads a chance to travel to pastures new which could be interesting……
I like the look of this Tosin from Fulham …. He looks the biz to me with size , strength and skill … Looks a cool dude and I hope the rumours of our interest are true ….No brainer if he comes on a free !

Would be great if Ratcliffe appoints Southgate against Ashcroft’s advice secretly given by an anonymous third party as he doesn’t want to break any confidentiality rules.
Meanwhile Rashford and Greenwood refuse to leave Old Trafford, at least until the roof’s fixed.
    Perfect storm that.

Off topic but this really shows how crap Government is and that London is an inward looking irrelevance.
This would pay for the paint for the Tyne Bridge

The US embassy in London owes £14.6m in unpaid congestion charge fees, figures have revealed.

Unpaid fees and fines amassed by all embassies in the capital have been published by Transport for London (TfL).

The statistics show the Japanese embassy has the second highest debt at £10.1m, followed by India’s high commission at £8.6m.
The embassy of the Republic of Togo, in central Africa, appears at the bottom of the list with a £40 bill.

Among all embassies, the total unpaid fees and fines accrued by diplomats between the launch of the congestion charge in London in 2003 and the end of last year is £143.5m.

Gordon POTS for me ….. My early season reservations about him getting tackled in tight areas and not always beating the last defender have been put to bed …. He has improved into a very mature and accomplished winger with more improvement to come …Bargain at 40m

Gordon and Bruno have held the team together all season. My vote goes to Gordon for the transformation we’ve seen. It’s not just the way he’s playing now, so much more direct and effective, hardly ever coughing up the ball cheaply. It’s the way he has matured in his whole thinking. Credit goes to Eddie for that. I think Eddie is like a father figure to players like Gordon. Great 1:1 man management that is totally holistic, so on and off the pitch. It’s examples like that that will sell the club to other potential signings. And if they don’t want that then please don’t bother coming.

Gordon, Bruno, Isak and Schar have been great this season..

But there isnt a player in the whole squad who has been as constantly brilliant as Gordon has been all season.

The amount of penalties hes won this season is staggering and not something the record books or form guides will show you, but they are a clear indication of his talent.

Gordon is the clear winner for me, no question!

On the England squad i think Gordon may be our only player in the squad, wity a possibility of Wilson getting in there too.

I dont think Trippiers form over the last 6 months has been good enough and Pope is always a long shot without having been injured.

So Gordon for sure and possibility Wilson are my guesses.

If this is Southgate’s last tournament, he should just go for it and bin his safety first approach.

If Southgate plays 4 in midfield the engine house of the team. he’s only got 6 to choose from, his selections look limited, especially if there’s an injury.

Midfielders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace).

On balance I went for Bruno, but I can see why Gordon has won our blog vote.
England have an embarrassment of riches in the front six and I hope this promise is finally realised at the Euros. The problem, as always, is the defence.
