No European Competition For Newcastle Next Season

With Manchester United playing well and beating Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley yesterday in the FA Cup Final it ended Newcastle’s last chance of a place in the Europa League Conference – so no European competition next season for Newcastle.

It’s like going back two years ago before Eddie Howe had his first full season at Newcastle and we made the Carabao Cup Final only to lose 2-0 to Manchester United.

It doesn’t look like the win yesterday will save Erik ten Hag’s career at the Red Devils, and he is still expected to be replaced.

It was hard luck on us but with respect, the Red Devils deserved their win yesterday and had an excellent game plan which seemed to work almost to perfection.

Newcastle’s season was brutal with all the extra games and injuries we picked up and we have to think this season has to be one of consolidation and we must learn from last season’s endeavors.

We played 51 games last season and with a win ratio of 45.1%.

The season before last, we played 46 total games with a win ratio of 52.2% – so we expect around the same number of games this season.

We will have less games this season but our season goals surely have to be to win a local Cup win and to again finish in the top four as we did the season before last.

Who Was Newcastle's Player Of The Season 2023-2024?

I have no problem with people getting stuff wrong on here, everyone does it. It was the fact that you said you’d remind people they were talking shite after the window closed and you turned out to be completely wrong yourself. Not sure why you felt the need to say what you said in the way that you said it.

My apologies, if the locals were wanting to practice their English then it couldn’t have been Sunderland, could it? 😀

Went on hols to Corfu in 72. Quite primitive back then. Messonghi beach hotel. Tony Blackburn was the resident celebrity there when we visited with some blond tottie. Anyway, I digress. Took a boat trip to see some caves on the mainland. Warned about not landing in Albania by accident. Iron curtain country back then. They love Norman Wisdom, who also took to the SJP pitch many years ago.

Or is it Albania you mean but could not remember the correct name because you are in outer space with the dope – you dope.

Tremendous comedy blogging – superb. Sundays are strange days on here as your knackers and wokesters cannot get to the Nash to get their Giros.

Myself and @magicmac54 were discussing incoming and out going players, I’ve been over cooking the incoming of late but we both reckon we could lose Dubs, Karius, Dummet, Ritchie, Wilson and Miggy, do we think we might make six signings in the summer.

Probably the Newcastle factor (Fraser, Armstrong) too much for Leeds.

Early doors, but well done Southampton.

I think Eddie might look at Minteh in pre season and if he looks up to the standard he’ll keep him in the squad, especially if he doesn’t take up a squad place.

    beermonkey,
Minteh to replace Ritchie, Kelly/ Dummet, Marmitevashadil/Dubs, Forster/Karius, Bowen/Miggy and then Tosin, an outlay of around £90M and hopefully with Fraser, Miggy and Wilson around £40M incoming, that would do nicely.

Yes Europe would have looked good for the club, as in we qualified for Europe again, but a season without it, especially the conference, will help Eddie get the squad fit and delivering greater consistency, especially away from home. After the car crash of injuries this season we need to recover.

a young def to replace schar in a season or 2 a keeper and striker as isak back up or somebody diff so maybe they work together

cant see it being dcl he is out injured more than wilson

DCL, Has had an injury free season. If we did go and sign him it could turn out to be a very good signing. Under Eddie he could be transformed as a player and give us a different threat from set pieces especially if we sign Tosin also, they’re both very good at attacking set pieces and our issues from not scoring many goals from corners or set pieces can drastically improve. We shall wait and see who we bring in but DCL IMO would be a good fit and choice for many reasons.

“”Back in 2021, England youth coach Kevin Betsy confirmed Amadeus Diallo was fast-tracked through the international system alongside the likes of Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham.””

Is this an indication of how limited our Academy is, or just standard probability that only a few make it.

I’ll post the code every now and again in case people miss it.
