This Player Is Our Blog’s 17th Player Of The Season

It is not a surprise, but after being signed less than 18 months ago by Newcastle, Anthony Gordon is our blog’s Player of the Season for 2023/24.

Under Eddie Howe’s guidance, Gordon has improved in leaps and bounds and it says something for Howe’s coaching ability that the (Liverpool lad born) 23 year-old –  has made so much raid progress in such a short time.

So there you have it, Gordon looks to be a regular for England (and Newcastle) in the years ahead given his excellent form for England since his debut.

Gordon is our 17th player of the season with 49% of the vote.

This game is as dull as dishwater.
I wonder if the England outfield players have realised that they’re only playing in the match so that Southgate can decide which of them will be dropped for the final squad of 26. This team should be named, “England players most likely to be dropped from the 30-man squad and Jordan Pickford.”

Goal celebrations don’t sound the same with England fans in the stadium.

Look forward to the new kit from Adidas soon.
While we need the sponsorship of Noon for financial reasons, never quite sure about the yellow patch tagged onto the shirt sleeve as it’s at odds with the rest of the shirt designs and b/w stripes. Are they continuing for 2024/2025 or will it be someone new ?

Discord – I registered when we fared the worst , but have stayed loyal to Dr. Ed and this fabulous site, articles and layout. There is a band of brothers and sisters (hi Carltoon) feel to be being here and many familiar and like minded contributors with the odd, very odd exception.
Good core of the regulars still here with a few welcome previous contributors dipping back in now and again, even though they’ve been AWOL !
    We shall not be moved.

Saw that Tripps was Captain for England for the first half at least tonight before being subbed.
Is Southgate creating memories for him or is he a real part of his plans for the Euros ?

Burnley have made contact with former West Ham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew, 62, as they start the search for a permanent successor to Vincent Kompany.

Steve Bruce is puce with rage.

Couple of songs from the 60’s Glasgow band – “The Marmalade” with their tremendous singer Dean Ford (unfortunately dead now).
First song is Obladi Oblada. Think it was a Beatles Song.

That song by the Marmalade – Reflections was a favourite “coming home” song for American Troops wanting to end the Vietnam war . A very good song with a legacy.

Pickford walked into the away team changing room at half time at SJP against Bosnia, much to their surprise.

Must have been intimidated by old memories and was seeking shelter or couldn’t handle being in the United home changing room.

Aye I sincerely hope so to my friend. I know I can be overly optimistic at times, however, I truly believe that we are on the verge of something very special this coming season.

I hope all is ok with you Rom. Take care the best man that there is south of the river Tyne 🙂

The only good thing about Discord which beats this great blog is that you can block another poster where you don’t wish to read their drivel/comments. I’m not the type to block, however, there are 3 specific posters from here (if you can call them that) I would gladly block and take great pleasure from it. Because one is a pathetic fisherman, one is a creepy old stalker, and the worst of them all is a depraved sick and twisted troll.
