This Player Is Our Blog’s 17th Player Of The Season

It is not a surprise, but after being signed less than 18 months ago by Newcastle, Anthony Gordon is our blog’s Player of the Season for 2023/24.

Under Eddie Howe’s guidance, Gordon has improved in leaps and bounds and it says something for Howe’s coaching ability that the (Liverpool lad born) 23 year-old –  has made so much raid progress in such a short time.

So there you have it, Gordon looks to be a regular for England (and Newcastle) in the years ahead given his excellent form for England since his debut.

Gordon is our 17th player of the season with 49% of the vote.

If Lloyd is fit to start for us then that’s much less pressure on Botman to return from his injury. He needs to come back fully fit without taking any chances on him breaking down again.

    Sir P,
So in that case you’d happily chat to Idi Amin about immigration, Pol Pot on workers rights and H!tler on the finer points of racial equality.
Again, well done you :clappinghands: emoji

Let’s just hope he stays fit, from what we hear he could turn out to be a fantastic signing if so.

That video was a bit ‘stupid’. His shirt number is 15. So why couldnt they put him behind door no. 15 aswell instead of 12. When I saw 12 I thought that would be his squad number lol

David Ornstein saying we’ve contacted Crystal Palace about Olise.

Be great if true and we made a bid.

But this is one of the ‘can’t be incorrect’ itk type of things.

    ‘Contacted Crystal Palace’

So if we sign him, he can claim an exclusive. If we don’t sign him, he can say we contacted but then decided not to make a move.

Easy stuff this football transfer journalism.

I’m going to state we’ve contacted Leverkusen about Wirtz as well.

Hasn`t Olise already agreed to join Chelsea?
If so fine, we will find a cracking replacement for Miggy if he leaves

The main man reporting it now!

    We are aiming high!

    Keith Downie
    @SkySports_Keith
Chelsea & Newcastle have expressed an interest in signing red-hot Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
Olise has further interest from other clubs, as per The Athletic.
The 22-year-old has a release clause of around £60m.
Newcastle again facing tough competition in their bid to land new signings this summer but are setting their sights high.

I suspect the club want to get the lower cost signings in first and outgoings, so they then know how much they’ve got to play with for the forwards we need.
Palace have done exceptionally well to get Eze, Ollise, Guehi and Wharton in for small fees. They are the deals that can propel your club. Why did no one else see their potential. And what else is out there.

Òlise ability wise would be immense but I just can’t us getting him and he’s still risky for the price with injuries

The London factor coupled with him being a former Chelsea graduate

I feel like a good fit for our team would be Mbuemo though as he could also play as a striker if needed and would suit our style

Plus he doesn’t seem to get injured that much

that thinking certainly makes sense to me and hopefully would allow us to push the boat out later in the window when other clubs get desperate to sell as they no doubt will, when all this outside pressure them starts to builds,

As I opened the link to the Kelly news I saw an article on Kel Watts, out of interest I googled Cambridge average wage, he should be getting around £3.5/4K a week, not too shabby if he gets that for the next ten years and gets in to coaching/sports science etc afterwards.
