This Player Is Our Blog’s 17th Player Of The Season

It is not a surprise, but after being signed less than 18 months ago by Newcastle, Anthony Gordon is our blog’s Player of the Season for 2023/24.

Under Eddie Howe’s guidance, Gordon has improved in leaps and bounds and it says something for Howe’s coaching ability that the (Liverpool lad born) 23 year-old –  has made so much raid progress in such a short time.

So there you have it, Gordon looks to be a regular for England (and Newcastle) in the years ahead given his excellent form for England since his debut.

Gordon is our 17th player of the season with 49% of the vote.

So very sorry to learn of Dr Ed Harrison’s passing. He was an inspiration and a Legend in many ways.

Today would have been my late Mother’s 107th birthday. So I will recall this sad date in many ways.

Jessie I’m sending lots of love and a bucket full of compassion to you and all the Harrison Family.

God Bless you all and much appreciation to Dr Ed for bringing us all together!

Started reading this blog round about the time we sacked Hughton (maybe 13 years ago) and I doubt there’s a day gone by I’ve not logged in to read the articles and comments.

Thank you to all the Harrison family who have kept this great blog going and RIP Ed, a true gentleman. X

Dear Madeline, Neil, Jessie and extended Harrison family.

Like everyone else on here I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr Ed. It is an incredibly difficult time for you all.

Please know that everyone who has contributed to this Blog, (which is a monument to Dr Ed) are sending you all their best thoughts, prayers and wishes.

He created a vehicle for so many of us from so many different parts of the world to share a common love of all thing Newcastle United. He afforded us the opportunity to relish the highs and to get through the lows. This Blog helped many of us through the tough years of the Ashley reign. It is a terrible pity that Dr Ed didn’t get to see his beloved Newcastle lit some silverware.

He was a gentleman, he will be missed.

Our new owners took control of the club in October 2021. So as far as the 3 year trading rule goes they are only commercially responsible for our trading figures since then up to October 2024. That’s 3 months less than the 3 year yardstick and Ashley’s old business is history.
