Newcastle Confirm The Capture Of Young Attacker

Newcastle have announced that capture of 21-year-old forward William Osula from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. It has been reported in the press the Danish U21 international cost an initial £10m rising to £15m with add-ons.

Here is the confirmation of Newcastle’s new attacker.

This is what William said about joining the rising Magpies:

“I’m very happy to be here. It’s a big club, a great club, so I’m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.

“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.

“It has come, and I’m really happy to be here.”

Here are some thoughts from our esteemed manager Eddie Howe:

“William is a talented young forward with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.

“We have watched his development closely and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next step in his career.

“I know our supporters will join me in giving William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”

Osula joins as likely third-choice behind superstar Alexander Isak and reliable-when-fit Callum Wilson. While his arrival is primarily based on potential, the club will hope Eddie Howe can unleash Osula’s undoubted potential.

Osula is somewhat versatile being able to play on either flank while possessing capable strikes with both feet. Sheffield had used him on the left with promising moments in pre-season.

I wouldn’t expect to see much of Osula in the early parts of this season barring any disasters. He’ll be molded in training by Howe à la Lewis Hall last term. If all goes to plan, Newcastle may have a weapon in attack in the season’s second-half and beyond.

Damn, git out the habit of checking for new articles before posting. 🙂

Interesting to see we’ve been tracking him for a few years. Looking forward to seeing how he develops over the coming seasons

    Javea from previous.

Yeah, not being able to hear the questions in the press conferences is a real pain. Hopefully they’ve installed some decent mics now.

Yes Neil!!!! Thanks for the articles.

Just posted this over the road.

I like these articles the athletic are doing. They rate them out of 100 over 5 categories using expert analysis.

    He’s got 268/500 which isn’t bad.

All saying he has top qualities which could lead on to big things if he keeps progressing. But isn’t anywhere near ready for our first team and we should only be seeing him as one for the future.

Sounds very similar to Hall. Looks like we’ll only see him early on if absolutely necessary but as the season goes on and Howe weaves his wand , we could see him get more time.

Lots of potential but very raw.

Targett seems to have been crocked for a whole year. Not sure what’s happened there but he wasn’t a sick note when we bought him.

In terms admin and moderation of the blog.
It won’t be possible to have non owners pick this up as the owners would need a degree of control as they would be legally responsible.
    It is what it is.
But don’t knock the discord crew.
They showed initiative to set it up at a time when this blog could have gone at any minute, and time was of the essence to get bloggers on board a life raft.
And we all may end up there eventually and will be grateful for it.

Looks like Targett did something similar to Willock. Was out for a while with a hamstring injury and then did his achilles tendon, after coming back, which seems to be a long recovery time.

Was in club shop to get an almost 6 year old her top. She is going with me on Saturday. Took her to a woman’s game last season, but she wants to see her future husband Bruno play. To get her name 39 and the top, cost £71. Haven’t bought myself a top in well over 20 years but might get one again, just don’t like the price

we still need a central defender and a right winger, well doesnt need to be a right winger a good right sided midfielder would do

if we do sign the crystal palace defender, we will go 3 at the back, the team on the pitch will be a very hard nut to crack

Well let’s hope the blog will carry on after the annual subscription. I will carry on posting on both here and Discord as I like both. For the record, TDSarf, AGM and Ibiza are the admins over there. They’ve done a cracking job so far, the troll is anonymous and they’ve only had to suspend two posters in a year of its existence.

It just needs bloggers to refrain from insulting each other. Difficult for some, I know, but surely as grown men and women we can behave!!!
The jury is out on the new lad, but the club believe in his potential, so let’s be patient again!
