Newcastle have announced that capture of 21-year-old forward William Osula from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. It has been reported in the press the Danish U21 international cost an initial £10m rising to £15m with add-ons.
Here is the confirmation of Newcastle’s new attacker.

This is what William said about joining the rising Magpies:
“I’m very happy to be here. It’s a big club, a great club, so I’m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.
“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.
“It has come, and I’m really happy to be here.”
Here are some thoughts from our esteemed manager Eddie Howe:
“William is a talented young forward with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.
“We have watched his development closely and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next step in his career.
“I know our supporters will join me in giving William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”
Osula joins as likely third-choice behind superstar Alexander Isak and reliable-when-fit Callum Wilson. While his arrival is primarily based on potential, the club will hope Eddie Howe can unleash Osula’s undoubted potential.
Osula is somewhat versatile being able to play on either flank while possessing capable strikes with both feet. Sheffield had used him on the left with promising moments in pre-season.
I wouldn’t expect to see much of Osula in the early parts of this season barring any disasters. He’ll be molded in training by Howe à la Lewis Hall last term. If all goes to plan, Newcastle may have a weapon in attack in the season’s second-half and beyond.

Comment #1606Can we just have some Man Utd draws, home games against general shite.
Clearly apart from drawing us at home last year when we walloped em. Only to be gifted another away game against Chelsea or Man City or someone

Comment #1607Match is coming too early in the season too. Especially away games. We have to hit the ground running this season.

Comment #1610Check I didn’t say Botman was slow. Lacking pace does not mean slow. He’s fine once up to speed is a straight line, but it’s the bit before that that’s the issue.
Still utterly unimpressed with the transfer window efforts
Eales said it would be transformative I think?
Ooooo........it's Nicky the ball tosser

Comment #1611The way Eddie wants us to play isn’t ticket science. Press early, stay compact, don’t give the opposition any time or space.
You need fit to be fit, and you also need pace in the side, particularly at the back.
It’s not so important when we are pressing so well that the opposition aren’t able to even get on the ball with enough time and space to ping in a decent ball behind us, but with all the games and injuries last term that really didn’t happen.
Im sure for us this term it’ll be about getting at them early early, with a nice compact shape, so they can’t play through us, nor play it in behind, but if they do get it in behind, we have Pope to marshall us, and a bit more pace in the side as added security.

Couldn’t agree more Simon mate.
On the league cup draw, irrespective of who get, it’s time we started to make our own luck.

Comment #1615So I wonder how Elliott Anderson is feeling getting an early chance of playing against the team he loves! I’m afraid/hope he’ll be disappointed but Forest away is not by any means an easy game!

I think he’s injured at the moment and likely to miss the start of the season, so may not be available for that game

Comment #1617Anderson got injured against Millwall about three weeks ago but came back quickly from that, and played the last few friendlies they had.
Don’t think he’s been injured since but might be wrong.

Can you tell us again you’re not impressed with the window, I wasn’t quite sure what you meant the first 32 times you’ve said it.

Comment #1619Are people really taking a negative from Guehi’s comments, he’s not Sissoko, he has to say he’s happy here, wish AG would sign a new deal.
