Newcastle Confirm The Capture Of Young Attacker

Newcastle have announced that capture of 21-year-old forward William Osula from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. It has been reported in the press the Danish U21 international cost an initial £10m rising to £15m with add-ons.

Here is the confirmation of Newcastle’s new attacker.

This is what William said about joining the rising Magpies:

“I’m very happy to be here. It’s a big club, a great club, so I’m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.

“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.

“It has come, and I’m really happy to be here.”

Here are some thoughts from our esteemed manager Eddie Howe:

“William is a talented young forward with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.

“We have watched his development closely and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next step in his career.

“I know our supporters will join me in giving William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”

Osula joins as likely third-choice behind superstar Alexander Isak and reliable-when-fit Callum Wilson. While his arrival is primarily based on potential, the club will hope Eddie Howe can unleash Osula’s undoubted potential.

Osula is somewhat versatile being able to play on either flank while possessing capable strikes with both feet. Sheffield had used him on the left with promising moments in pre-season.

I wouldn’t expect to see much of Osula in the early parts of this season barring any disasters. He’ll be molded in training by Howe à la Lewis Hall last term. If all goes to plan, Newcastle may have a weapon in attack in the season’s second-half and beyond.

We need Botman back then basically we will have….
    Willock
    Tonali
    Tino
    Hall
    Kelly
    Barnes
    Big Joe
    Pope
    Osula

All contributing massively more to the season. Think we have top 4 nailed.
Man City, Arsenal, Toon, Bindippers i reckon.

Non of the other teams will threaten.

Mund… Enjoy, it looks great. I was hoping it would be open when I was over for the daughter’s wedding last month but sadly it wasn’t to be. It’ll be absolutely buzzing there with some live music going on. Hopefully lots of local Bands will get the chance to showcase their talents.

Big Dan Burn needs to be at early doors covering for Botman. Still think Kelly might get starting left back if he stays fit. Eddie likes him and is more physical than Hall on that back post. Hall maybe a utility player all year but think the kid might spend a bit of time on bench.

Wonder of Eddie thinks Barnes left and Gordon Right. It does make us stronger as a team.

I wouldn’t put Gordon on the right just to have Barnes starting .
Gordon is at his most dangerous off the left and I wouldn’t be jeopardise that by playing him on the right to accommodate Barnes .
I’d start Murphy on the right until we sign someone better and use Barnes as an impact sub/Rotation .

Check…Completely agree. Was saying to a mate yesterday that if we can keep Willock, Barnes, Botman, Pope and Joelinton fit for the most part then we’ll be rocking it. Add to that Tonali, Kelly, hopefully a new rcb and rw Osula, and praying Wilson stays fit for a few games, what’s not to look forward too. Can’t wait for the season to ko.

Will Osula comes off like a Howe signing, he’s made it clear him and Mad dog were the only ones who knew about him.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on, and will give us an indication as to whether Howe is up to the task of selecting potential transfers.

Kelly is clearly another Howe signing, I’ll be watching these two closely nect season..

It might tell us who should be left to do what.

Can’t see Kelly getting in over Burn personally. From the little I’ve seen of Kelly play for us at cb he doesn’t look quite as good ad burn does in that same position.

Very decent player, but honestly I think Burn looked more assured when he replaced him.

Tonali is the player I am most looking forward to watching this season.
I think he is going to have a big season .
The ban will have helped him settle and learn what Eddie wants from him and grow mentally as well .
All the baggage he was carrying for years with his addiction is hopefully gone .
I think we are going to have a “machine ” as Tino called him on our hands and can’t wait.

Great to have you onboard. Welcome.

Osula looks like a great physical presence and he’ll more than pose a threat to defenders. He’s so enthusiastic to be here which the fans will love. Eddie will help him realise his potential

As much as we’d all like a RW upgrade, it won’t happen unless Miggy is sold. No way will we have 3 RW in the squad. Guehi could be the one marquee signing. Our squad will still be significantly stronger given the ban and injuries last season.

    No worries Rob.

Just think with Barnes and Gordon on the pitch with isak it basically guarantees us goals from all areas.

Add in Big Joe, Tonali and Bruno and holy shit, we are giving some team a proper walloping.

Murphy is great in home games against lesser opposition mind, great at pressing and is proper at it at St james. Tino and Hall/Kelly offer more in terms of running power from full back than Tripps and Burn.

We have a proper smart team now. If Pep would only retire or be replaced with Brucey i would fancy us to go for the title.

Remember last year before injuries and fatigue ravished the squad.

Villa walloped, then 8 put into Sheff Utd away. We looked like we were gunna smash up Europe.. anyone remember PSG, with Miggy and Sean in the team.

Its the passion our lads have for the shirt and city that will make us do special things this season. Hopefully Bruno has his minutes managed and can carry us right thru to the end games when we lift the prem trophy.

So that clarifies the 10 k thing Jes, was wondering what that was all about. I say give them both a gold medal.*

    * FYI, they ain’t really gold, the Olympics gold medals contain a mere 6 grams of gold, it’s mostly silver. So no biggie.
