Howe Makes One Forced Change – Our Predicted NUFC Eleven At Bournemouth

Eddie Howe pulled no surprises with his team selection against Southampton one week ago. He fielded an eleven that the general consensus sensed he would. However, a ridiculous moment in the 1-0 victory over The Saints leaves Howe short at the back.

Fabian Schar is not available after a straight red for his phantom head butt of Ben Brereton Diaz. The Chilean international should be ashamed of himself for his histrionics, which only served to fire up the crowd and the Magpies.

Without the Swiss for Sunday’s clash at The Cherries, Howe will be forced to alter his backline against his former club. While there are options, I suspect he’ll produce a straight swap with Emil Krafth in for Schar.

This is the lineup I predict for Sunday with just the one change. It could be another big chance for Emil, who has often risen to the occasion under Eddie Howe.

So going by reports Minteh had a pretty poor game today so just wondering is it open season on slagging the club for selling him or not this weekend 🙂

I wonder if EH might play Barnes, Isak and Gordon up front. They might not be up there fitness wise so he may wait till the Spurs game where they did so well last season

    Appreciate the new thread, Neil.

I wonder if Howe will bring Kelly in next to Burn for this one…

If we want top four again we need to be picking up points on the road in fixtures like this. It’ll be a tough game though – Bournemouth are a decent outfit under Iraola and particularly strong at home.

I wonder if we don’t go with Barnes and Gordon up front so Eddie can go with Sanusi and Murphy against NFO? I also wonder if we don’t go with Tripps to give extra experience next to Emil while Fabby is out.

Afternoon Simon, you obviously selected the same team as me in Eddie’s Bingo, I think he will pick Kelly against his former team at left back, with Krafth obviously replacing Schar, I have a feeling Eddie will rotate Kelly and young Hall quite a bit this year Simon.

Eddie’s Bingo will close at 11:45 am tomorrow. You have until then to decide on Hall or Kelly.

That’s the same team I think Eddie will go for against Bournemouth. Kelly would be a good option to put in against his former club but unfortunately he ain’t a RCB which is needed.

Krafth has never let us down when playing RCB. The team is strong enough to give Bournemouth a good game. It’s a bit of a hoodoo ground for us of late so we need to put that to bed tomorrow.

Minteh pass succession against Man Utd as 48% — by far the worst on the pitch.

Essentially, every time he got the ball, he gave it away half of the time.

I am not trying to run the guy down. It makes no difference to me if he succeeds or not. Quality players don’t often give the ball away. Plenty of time to improve, but I wouldn’t be considering him crown jewel material if he returned stats like that playing for Newcastle.

i know it’s only one game and the lads got a very long career in front of him,
but it has to be said Minteh was very poor today. t think full games at the minute might are just be a bit to soon for him 10/15 minutes of the bench might have been more appropriate to his introduction to the PL

Thanks for the post, Neil! The phantom nut job is priceless. Brereton’s failed Rada audition is still making waves amongst the Toon army, but not elsewhere I’m afraid.
Judging a player, when his mind might be on a lucrative move is never good. You might have to get used to him coming next week!!!
More importantly, let’s hope for a good team display tomorrow.

A team gets relegated. Following season some promoted teams buy some of these relegated players. The said players couldn’t keep the previous team up so why are the promoted teams buying them.
