Eddie Howe pulled no surprises with his team selection against Southampton one week ago. He fielded an eleven that the general consensus sensed he would. However, a ridiculous moment in the 1-0 victory over The Saints leaves Howe short at the back.
Fabian Schar is not available after a straight red for his phantom head butt of Ben Brereton Diaz. The Chilean international should be ashamed of himself for his histrionics, which only served to fire up the crowd and the Magpies.
Without the Swiss for Sunday’s clash at The Cherries, Howe will be forced to alter his backline against his former club. While there are options, I suspect he’ll produce a straight swap with Emil Krafth in for Schar.
This is the lineup I predict for Sunday with just the one change. It could be another big chance for Emil, who has often risen to the occasion under Eddie Howe.

Another one who clearly doesn’t understand the meaning of irony.
I seem to have become your pet project like you’re always waiting to pounce on anything I say. Rent free much !! I’m sure there are others you can focus your petty narrow minded quarrels on and construct endless needless arguments with.

Comment #124I’m really hoping for a commanding performance and convincing win today, we need to get some confidence and momentum going after a bit of a shaky start last week.
Mind you, if we don’t get that I’ll still take scrappy wins until we look like contenders!

If the answer is yes,
Can we rue our decision to buy Guehi based on one poor performance?

Comment #131Cyprus….well if we use our decision to sell Mineth as a stick to beat the club with because he played 45 min of decent football well then I suppose if he played 90 min of s..te football that will be used to defend the clubs decision.
I would, as I said, all along prefer if the kid was judged at the end of the season .

Me, I don’t think that way. I can’t wish bad on either lad just to do an, “I told you, the club knows best!” Or the opposite.
Anyway, onto the team. I think the next games are important because they’ll give us an idea where we stand. Are we ready to step up? Will we be dominating? Will it be a struggle? Do we absolutely need new top players or are we fine as is?
What are you folks expecting today? I saw what WorB is hoping, but how about expecting?
If you’re asking me, toss a coin. And that ain’t too safe a way to live 😉

Hope the lad recovers well and that the heid get the promotion they deserve.
The Gateshead legend Greg Olley suffered a broken leg, dislocated ankle and severe ligament damage in last weekend’s win at Woking.
Rob Elliot has revealed Sunderland and Newcastle United have offered to support Gateshead captain Greg Olley as he recovers from a serious injury that has brought a premature end to his season.
The Heed talisman was the victim of a reckless tackle from Dion Kelly-Evans during the opening quarter of an hour of last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Woking and has since underwent surgery on a broken leg, dislocated ankle and severe ligament damage. Olley is now back in the North East and Gateshead confirmed they will be without the man that led them to the National League North title and the FA Trophy Final win over Solihull Moors for the remainder of the season.

Second game into the season and where scrambling round trying to find someone to play right centre back. It’s abit embarrassing to b honest. The problem should of b addressed long ago. A we’ll ran club would of addressed it by now. Anyways I’ll go for 3-0 for the Toon today

Comment #144It’s a difficult one Re the hierarchy on Transfer decisions…… Eddie has clearly stated that he obviously has major input on which players to sign. .
However the complicated process of dealing with selling clubs and agents etc to make the deal happen won’t be down to him as it’s far too time consuming and stressful a process …I remember back in the day when Managers did all that stuff though ….
It was clear that EH was somewhat perturbed when Amanda and Merhad left as he was the blue eyed boy and change isn’t always easy to deal with …He’ll get used to the new system but will take time …
Surely part of being a DOF is to discover new talent and then convince the manager that the player is good enough….We’ve yet to see Mitchell come up with any hidden gems so the jury has to be still out on him as far as NUFC are concerned .

Huge game this one today. As tuff has mentioned already we couldn’t gauge from that performance how we’re going to start the season. We may get a view of that today but we need to get straight on the front foot. We know Bournemouth were quite a formidable team last season and we struggled against them home and away. However, they have been weakened and not strengthened. They have lost 2 very important players in Solanke and Kelly. So I believe we will get on the front foot and boss the game and if we don’t then a draw will be the best possible outcome. Eddie will have us fired up for this game that I am absolutely sure of. Last weeks game was ruined by the red card.
We need to now

“ Parish has crushed it with these negotiations because we are so desperate for him”
How the hell would he know that Parish has crushed it. Nobody not even Sean Casey (ahum) have any idea whatsoever about what is going on. They are just there own personal thoughts and guessing and more than likely way off as to what is actually happening.

Not even three years after a TO of a club probably a season away from becoming a Sheff W, Coventry or Derby, a club that spent the last 14 years gifting commercial revenue to firms that benefited Rots Direct, that had players like Clark, Hayden and Gayle on wages way above their ability to save buying new players and that kept ticket prices at a bare minimum to stop people leaving in their droves. Yes, not even three years and because we’ve not won the league and only reached one cup final and only qualified for the CL once, our new highly rated DoF is walking round with his pants round his ankles, our CEO who built a club from scratch, who is a former pro footballer and Cambridge graduate is now a cheerleading pom pom waver and our young progressive manager who 99% of the country want to be the next England manager is an egotistical maniac who has issues with anyone above him bar Staveley. Wtf is it people want here???

Aye Munster just loves to pour cold water on anything and everything if it means having a sly dig at the club. I see he is even having a pop at our CEO (Darren Eales). There is no way a true supposed supporter of NUFC would act in such a way to only look for the negative and never the positive. You’d still we were owned by Ashley the way he goes in. Many of us have this fraud sussed.

Comment #157I remember under Ashley we had an extensive scouting network jetting all over the world scouting players . Video libraries of potential targets with files and reports on players etc etc whilst the fat leech clearly had no intentions of signing any of them…..Loans from the bargain bucket and out of contract bargains were his go to options!
It was obviously not just to convince fans that we were actively looking to sign players but the management also.

Contrary to what you told me about Alex Murphy going to Portsmouth on loan mate, it`s actually not factually correct, i posed the question to Steve Wraith on NUFC Matters this morning, and Steve Wraith told me he was still at Newcastle, and it was only speculation, i guess that explains why i couldn`t find his name in the Portsmouth team sheet or subs yesterday mate 😀 😀
